Chapter 66: The Most Important Thing
"You're too kind, Mr. Lin. It's what I should be doing."
Wang Tianlin said with a chuckle, then added, "Also, I should be the one to go on this mission. Your safety is too important. I can't rest easy letting anyone else go with you."
Hearing this, Lin Feng glanced at Wang Tianlin, a little surprised. 'This guy is surprisingly loyal.'
"Fine. But remember, my wife's safety is the top priority."
"Don't worry, Mr. Lin. I understand."
Wang Tianlin hastily agreed. He knew who Lin Feng's wife was—she was the one person you could never cross. If she were harmed, Lin Feng would probably bring his wrath down on every faction in Xijing.
"Alright, that's all for now. I'll be leaving. Call me if anything comes up," Lin Feng said with a nod.
"Of course. Take care, Mr. Lin."
After Lin Feng left, Wang Tianlin couldn't help but give a bitter smile. 'Lin Feng's temperament is truly bizarre.'
Of course, he had readily agreed to Lin Feng's request. Even though he was the dignified president of the Four Seas Business Association, he still felt immense pressure when facing Lin Feng.
...
The night was deep and still. The hazy moonlight cast a cool, pleasant air.
At the foot of Cyan Mountain, a black Maybach slowly approached. The person inside was none other than Lin Feng.
The place was called Cyan Mountain, but it had been almost fully developed by now. It was basically a tourist area, just one that happened to be close to the city center.
As a result, the foot traffic was heavy. There were countless beautiful women and handsome men of all kinds, attracting the eyes of passing men.
Lin Feng glanced around and immediately frowned.
Although these women were quite beautiful and their revealing clothes were full of temptation, Lin Feng had no interest whatsoever.
'They aren't like the international supermodels he used to encounter. Their chests are all silicone, no substance. These cheaply dolled-up girls really aren't my type.'
"Tsk tsk, that girl's chest is definitely fake!"
"Damn, look at the ass on her!"
"Hahaha, bro, that ass is definitely fake!"
Just then, a burst of raucous chatter erupted. A burly man, well over six feet tall, stood at the edge of the street with his arms crossed, an arrogant look plastered on his face.
Lin Feng swept his gaze over the burly man for a moment, then looked away and started walking up the mountain.
However, he had only taken a few steps before he suddenly stopped.
He sensed that something was off.
It was a strange sensation, as if a pair of eyes were fixed on him.
The eerie feeling made Lin Feng's expression turn grim. Then, after a moment's thought, a strange smile touched the corners of his lips.
He then stamped his foot, and with a burst of immense power, he shot forward like a cheetah.
At the same time, on the rooftop of a building about three hundred meters away, a figure in a windbreaker suddenly stood up. His gaze turned sinister as he looked in the direction Lin Feng had darted.
"Hmph. Trying to run? Dream on!"
He muttered, then quickly pulled out his phone and dialed a number.
"Hey, Boss. I've got eyes on the kid. He's heading this way, just as you said."
"Hm? That was fast. Keep a close watch on the area. See what he's looking for. And while you're at it, check his background."
After hanging up, his expression flickered for a moment. He muttered to himself, "This Lin Feng is actually a little interesting. Looks like I won't have to get my own hands dirty. Wouldn't it be too boring if he just died like this?"
"Lin Feng, this time, you're dead meat!"
The man licked his dry lips, his eyes flaring with intense killing intent, before he quickly vanished from the window.
...
'Looks like they've already made their move.'
On the path up the mountain, Lin Feng rubbed his nose and sighed softly. His senses were incredibly sharp, so he was well aware that someone was watching him. Still, he pretended not to have noticed and continued on as planned.
Soon, he reached the summit of Cyan Mountain. His gaze shifted, landing on an open clearing not far away.
On a patch of grass in the clearing, an old man sat on a stone bench, sipping tea. He was burly with dark skin and a fierce expression. A thick arm was covered in a tattoo of intertwining dragons and snakes. He was clearly not someone to be trifled with.
The man looked to be in his sixties, yet he gave off an aura of being as immovable as a mountain. Simply by sitting there, he commanded attention.
Lin Feng's gaze turned ice-cold. He realized the old man's target was him.
"You're blocking my path. Are you here to kill me?"
Lin Feng looked at the old man calmly, his eyes utterly cold.
This old man was clearly no simple character. The aura emanating from him made even Lin Feng feel a trace of a threat.
Hearing Lin Feng's words, the old man sipping tea on the stone bench looked up at him, his weathered face completely devoid of expression.
"So, you're Lin Feng," the old man said flatly. "Just as arrogant as the rumors say. I really don't know where you get your nerve."
Lin Feng raised an eyebrow but didn't speak, merely staring coldly at the old man. He could tell the old man's cultivation was far weaker than his own—at the Peak of Postnatal Realm, at most.
Moreover, the old man's physical condition wasn't great. He was carrying old, deep-seated injuries, clearly from some past internal trauma.
'A cultivation level like that is nowhere near enough to be a threat to me.'
A spark of battle lust ignited in Lin Feng's heart. He had a feeling that if they really were to fight, it would be quite a show.
"Ignorance truly is bliss. Since you've come looking for death, kid, don't blame me for granting your wish."
A mocking smirk played on the old man's lips. His body shuddered, and a powerful aura erupted from him, surging forth like a tidal wave.
Lin Feng, however, remained perfectly calm, paying no mind to the magnificent aura. He slowly raised a fist and crooked a finger at the old man. "Come on."
The old man's pupils contracted sharply. A sarcastic smile spread across his face, and his figure blurred into an afterimage as he lunged at Lin Feng.
BOOM!
The dull thud of fist meeting palm thundered across the mountaintop.
After only a few exchanges, the old man's expression changed. 'This Lin Feng's body is incredibly tough, and his fists are like they're cast from reinforced concrete!'
Not only that, but Lin Feng's attacks were viciously precise, each strike aimed at a vital point. The slightest lapse in the old man's attention would result in a direct hit, and the longer they fought, the more unnerved he became.
'Lin Feng looks so young, yet he possesses such formidable strength. No wonder he dared to storm our organization's headquarters alone.'
At this moment, the old man had no choice but to get serious.
