Chapter 59: Tear to Shreds
Hearing this, the man flew into a rage.
"You're still trying to act tough, you bastard! I'll slaughter you!"
He roared and lunged at Lin Feng again, brandishing his twin daggers. He was determined to use all his strength to tear Lin Feng to shreds, giving him no chance to catch his breath.
But this time, his speed was no match for Lin Feng's. Lin Feng's movements were unnervingly strange, as if he had split into several phantoms, making it impossible to tell which was his true body.
The assassin, however, continued to slash wildly without any discernible technique, just as before. But every strike met nothing but air.
The man grew more frantic with each passing moment. Lin Feng was simply too fast, and all he could track were fleeting afterimages.
Suddenly, his vision blurred, and he lost sight of Lin Feng completely. A moment later, he felt a rush of air from behind.
BANG!
Lin Feng's form materialized abruptly at the man's side as he slammed a vicious punch into his waist.
The man let out a muffled grunt, his entire body shot away like a cannonball from the force of Lin Feng's punch.
Cough, cough!
'When did he get behind me?!'
Scrambling up from the ground, the man stared in shock at Lin Feng, who was slowly pulling back his fist. He ran a hand over the special bulletproof vest he was wearing.
Although it hadn't been pierced, he could clearly feel a Fist Seal—an indentation left by Lin Feng's punch.
He had no doubt now that if he hadn't been wearing this special bulletproof vest, if that punch had landed directly on his body...
...even his twice-modified body couldn't have withstood it. At the very least, the impact would have fractured his spine.
The man's face turned ashen, and his eyes, when he looked at Lin Feng, were filled with deep wariness. 'This guy is terrifying!'
Lin Feng slowly looked up, a faint smile playing on his lips. He stretched his arm, and a series of pops echoed from his joints.
'Looks like I've almost fully recovered this time!'
Lin Feng murmured to himself. He then took a deep breath, his eyes tinged with red, and his entire presence grew much sharper.
Lin Feng looked at the man and spoke with cold indifference. "You can die now."
The words had barely left his lips when his figure vanished.
Moving like a phantom, he darted to the man's side in an instant.
SWISH!
Lin Feng shot out a palm strike. A formidable wave of Martial Arts Inner Power erupted from his hand, sending a massive blast of air surging toward the man.
"In your dreams!"
As an international assassin, the man was prepared for Lin Feng's surprise attack. He swung his dagger, and a glint of steel flashed as the sharp blade stabbed viciously at Lin Feng.
CLANG!
But Lin Feng wouldn't have attacked without being prepared. With a flick of his left hand, he produced a Golden Needle between two fingers. The two weapons collided, sending sparks flying.
The next moment, the tremendous force of the collision threw them both backward.
"Kid, let's end this once and for all."
"I'm going to kill you!"
the man said through gritted teeth. This was the first time he had ever felt true killing intent toward someone from Huaxia.
"Heh. I'm waiting. Bring it on."
Lin Feng sneered, dismissing the man's challenge with contempt.
"Kill!"
The man leaped into the air and charged at Lin Feng once more.
This time, his attacks were even more ferocious. He wielded his dagger like a viper, launching a frenzy of surprise attacks at Lin Feng.
But this was all a feint. He knew Lin Feng was incredibly strong; his assault was merely a distraction. The truly fatal blow would come from his dagger.
Lin Feng snorted. His footwork was nimble, his movements so graceful and fluid he looked like he was taking a leisurely stroll.
WHOOSH...
The dagger spun nimbly in the man's hand. Its blade sliced through the air with a sharp whistle as it flew straight for Lin Feng's throat.
A faint blue sheen coated the dagger, which gave off a cloyingly sweet, metallic scent. Lin Feng knew instantly that his opponent was done holding back and had applied poison to his weapon. The threat level spiked dramatically.
SWOOSH!
Lin Feng's figure blurred, and he instantly evaded the attack. He moved so quickly that the man couldn't track him at all.
The man's brow furrowed. Lin Feng was simply too fast, and he was completely unable to predict his movements.
He had no idea where Lin Feng would attack from next.
BANG!
Lin Feng's figure flickered unpredictably. He suddenly launched a side kick that swept viciously into the man's chest.
Caught completely off guard, the man reeled from the kick, his body stumbling backward uncontrollably.
BANG!
He didn't stop until he slammed into the back wall of the room.
HUFF!
The man held his breath for a full two or three seconds before finally forcing out an exhale. He stared at Lin Feng, his expression grave. That kick had nearly knocked the wind out of him completely.
'This guy's strength is completely beyond my imagination!'
Lin Feng's tone was calm. "Are you still going to hide your true strength?" In their previous exchange, the man's power had seemed comparable to his own.
But Lin Feng knew the man wasn't going all out. He suspected this man's cultivation was likely the same as his own—that of an Innate Martial Artist.
However, this man had achieved his power through other means. In other words, while his reflexes and physical attributes were on par with an Innate Martial Artist, he possessed no Spiritual Qi. It could be said he hadn't truly grasped the Innate Realm.
Regardless, the man's strength could not be underestimated.
After all, anyone who could cultivate Inner Strength was undoubtedly a prodigy in the Martial Arts.
Lin Feng could also sense that the man wasn't very old, twenty-five at most.
Regardless, Lin Feng grew even more wary of the man. He had to eliminate this difficult opponent now.
"I'm going to dice you into a thousand pieces!"
the man roared, his eyes fixed on Lin Feng with venomous hatred. He had never faced such a powerful enemy before.
"I'd like to see you try,"
Lin Feng replied flatly, then suddenly struck.
SWOOSH!
Lin Feng's body blurred into an afterimage, appearing before the man in the blink of an eye.
The man's pupils shrank. He felt the hair on his body stand on end. 'Lin Feng's power is just too terrifying!'
But his combat instincts, honed by years of teetering on the edge of life and death, screamed at him to counterattack.
SWISH!
With another whistle of displaced air, Lin Feng's figure flickered and appeared behind the man.
'Just as I expected!'
The man retreated explosively, narrowly dodging Lin Feng's attack.
SWOOSH!
However, the next moment he felt an icy chill on his neck. With a flick of his wrist, Lin Feng had sent a silver needle flying right at him.
"You're courting death!"
The man flew into a rage. He crouched slightly, like a cheetah gathering its strength, and in that instant, he exploded forward at Lin Feng in his absolute peak state.
