Chapter 31: Scheme
"Elder Li, don't get me wrong. The girl is the sister of Lin Feng's wife. The one with the burned face is his wife's stepmother."
Hearing this, Elder Li paused for a moment and turned to look at a smiling Wang Kai.
"Oh? And what do you mean by that?"
His intuition told him something was fishy, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

Wang Kai laughed aloud, a vicious smile spreading across his thoughts.

Just as Lin Feng finished getting ready and was about to head out, he looked up. He saw Su Yanxue limping out of her room and smiled, his gaze drifting, intentionally or not, toward a certain part of her body.
'Looks like I might have been a bit too rough last night. It was her first time, after all,' Lin Feng thought, silently chastising himself.
Sensing his gaze, Su Yanxue lowered her head, too shy to look at him.
"I… I understand. Be safe, and come back soon."
"I'll be back before you know it, don't worry."
Seeing Su Yanxue's charming and adorable expression, Lin Feng's heart skipped a beat. He almost couldn't resist the urge to pounce on her right then and there.
Lin Feng suppressed the impulse, took a deep breath to calm his turbulent emotions, and turned to leave.
'I have a lot to do today. Besides, Su Yanxue's body hasn't recovered yet. Better not.'
As she watched Lin Feng walk out the door, a sweet smile touched Su Yanxue's lips.

Su Yanxue silently vowed, but her face quickly flushed crimson. Remembering the wildness of the previous night, she still couldn't quite process it all.
"Tsk, you scoundrel," Su Yanxue murmured to herself, her pretty face flushed scarlet.

Lin Feng arrived at the Su Family estate, holding the legal documents that Wang Tianlin had sent over that morning.
They were legally binding papers that would completely sever the father-daughter relationship between Su Guowei and Su Yanxue.
Furthermore, Su Guowei would pledge to never again interfere in any of Su Yanxue's affairs, including providing financial aid.

Lin Feng sneered as he read the document.
To be honest, he hadn't originally held any ill will toward this father-in-law of his.

Carrying the document, Lin Feng arrived at a luxurious villa and pushed the door open, stepping into the living room.
"Su Guowei, I'm here."
Lin Feng spoke calmly as he entered, but his brow furrowed the next moment.
The reason was simple: the stench of smoke in the living room was overwhelming.
In the smoke-filled living room, Su Guowei was sprawled on the sofa, his eyes completely bloodshot. He looked as though he hadn't slept all night.
The butler who was usually by his side was nowhere to be seen, and there wasn't a single servant in the massive villa. It seemed he was the only one left.
"Ah, you're here."
Seeing Lin Feng, Su Guowei finally opened his eyes. His pupils were unfocused, and he seemed to have become much more haggard.
"Yes, I'm here. Sign it."
Lin Feng nodded, wasting no words. He tossed the document onto the table in front of him.
"This… Xiaolin, I…"
When Su Guowei saw the document, his already haggard face turned deathly pale. He slumped back onto the sofa, motionless, as if he had aged several years in an instant.
"What did you just call me?"
Lin Feng stood with his hands behind his back, looking down on Su Guowei, his expression as indifferent as ever.
But anyone who knew him would understand this meant Lin Feng was already angry.
Before, when he'd called him Xiaolin, he could let it slide out of respect for him being Su Yanxue's father. But for him to still dare address him that way now… he truly didn't know his place.
