The Master Descends the Mountain: My Destined CEO

Chapter 417: Simply Too Arrogant

The people in the meeting room stared at Xiao Ye, seething with anger.

'He's way too arrogant!'

He didn't just cut them off; he made outrageous boasts.

'Does he really think the Angel Association can't get into the Dragon Country without him?'

"Xiao Ye, don't forget you've already joined our Angel Association. You've even been injected with our drug. You must abide by our rules!"

Xiao Ye gave a faint smile. "That drug of yours is a threat, I'll give you that. But only just. I'm a tough man to kill!"

"Let's not waste any more time. Chester is already dead, so whatever you're going to do, get on with it. I have my own business to attend to and no time to waste arguing with you."

"You..." The men were at a loss for words.

It was the first time they had ever encountered someone like him. "Xiao Ye, you're far too arrogant! We have to teach you a lesson today!"

With that, the man clapped his hands.

A moment later, someone walked in through the door.

"Xiao Ye, as punishment, you are not to resist from this moment on! We're not going to kill you, but you will be punished!"

The newcomer moved to attack, but the instant he reached out, Xiao Ye grabbed his arm. With a quick twist—CRACK!—he snapped it.

"So you want to play rough? Fine. Go ahead and call your men. Anyone who lays a finger on me today will live to regret it!"

Suddenly, Xiao Ye broke into a grin, his eyes sweeping over the men in the room. "You... don't think I'd dare to touch you, do you?"

"Let me tell you, I don't just dare. I dare to kill you."

With that, Xiao Ye pulled out a pistol.

He aimed it right at the man who had just called for someone to punish him.

BANG!

The man was shot in the shoulder and collapsed.

It all happened so suddenly that none of them had time to react.

"Ah! You..."

Xiao Ye looked at the others. "See that? That's what happens when you mess with me. Do you understand now?"

He sat back down in his chair. "Can we have a civil conversation now?"

'How could they possibly have a civil conversation now?'

'He'd attacked, fired a gun, and even threatened to kill them!'

As managers in the Angel Association, it had been years since they'd faced a situation like this. For a moment, they were all thrown into a panic.

"Why the silence? Or do you have something else to discuss?"

Xiao Ye toyed with the pistol. "Chester already agreed to my demands. You just have to follow through on what she promised."

He then tossed a recording pen onto the table. "It's all in there. Get familiar with it, then get it done."

"And if any of you try to screw me over, I swear, as long as I'm breathing, I'll be coming for your life."

The men were furious, but more than that, they were afraid.

To them, Xiao Ye was like a rock in a cesspool—foul and unyielding.

'If they tried to get rid of him, they could be in danger. But if they didn't, wouldn't the Angel Association lose face?'

'If other members found out how brazenly Xiao Ye had acted, who knew what they might think.'

There was no other choice. It seemed they had to contact their superiors.

One of the men secretly contacted the Grand Archangel.

Finally, a reply came: He would arrive in half an hour.

Seeing those words, the men in the meeting room instantly found their resolve.

"Xiao Ye, the Grand Archangel will be handling this matter going forward. You will stay here. The meeting will resume in half an hour."

'Grand Archangel?'

'Looks like someone from the Angel Association's true upper echelon is finally showing up.'

'These guys are nothing special, just some public-facing managers. The real players are all hidden in the background.'

Xiao Ye's goal was to draw out more people, so of course he wasn't going to leave. He just sat to the side, crossed his legs, and waited.

「About forty minutes later.」

The sound of footsteps came from outside, followed by the door opening.

Xiao Ye turned his head to look.

A tall, well-built man entered. He wore a dark gray suit and carried himself with an air of elegance.

His hair was a smooth, dark brown. A small tattoo was visible on the back of his hand, and a large emerald was set in his ring.

The mask he wore was pure white, without any pattern, but its high-quality material was obviously custom-made.

"Grand Archangel!"

The men in the meeting room immediately rose to their feet and bowed.

Xiao Ye simply watched him. "Grand Archangel. So, that means you're someone important. You can solve this whole situation, right?"

"That's right. You can call me Gabriel." The man sat down opposite Xiao Ye.

He glanced at the others. "You may all leave."

The men were startled. "Grand Archangel, you mustn't!"

"This Xiao Ye is extremely volatile! He attacks without a word!"

"Look! His shoulder's a mess because of him!"

"Take him to a doctor. Don't make me repeat myself." Gabriel's voice was frigid, and he sounded no older than forty.

Seeing his decision was final, the others had no choice but to leave, casting worried glances back as they went.

'Why were they so worried?'

'Was it because they knew the Angel Leader couldn't protect himself? Or was it because they didn't know *if* he could?'

The men filed out, and soon, only the two of them remained in the meeting room.

"Xiao Ye. A pleasure to finally meet you." The man extended his hand.

Xiao Ye ignored the gesture, offering only a faint smile. "Gabriel holds a high station in the West. No wonder they call you Grand Archangel."

"Mr. Grand Archangel, let's skip the empty formalities. Just say what you need to say. Are you the one who calls the shots here?"

"I've already told you my demands. But after what happened with Chester, I'm adding a new one: From now on, no one is to pull any underhanded crap on me."

"If someone has a problem with me, they can face me directly. What's with all this assassination nonsense?"

Xiao Ye's tone was hostile, but Gabriel didn't get angry. "You're right. I will, of course, restrain my subordinates. And I agree to all of your demands."

Xiao Ye's eyes narrowed slightly. This Gabriel was much smarter than the others. His tone was consistently mild, putting one at ease.

"Good. Is there anything else? If not, I'm leaving."

Gabriel watched Xiao Ye intently. "We will agree to your demands. However, you must also work for us. Show the Angel Association that your abilities are worthy of the privileges you're being granted."

Xiao Ye sat back down. "Fine. Talk."

It was a simple response, but it instantly shifted the momentum back in his favor.

Gabriel paused for a moment before continuing, "We've recently run into a troublesome matter. We need your help, and Zhu Chen's."

'The sudden mention of Zhu Chen... It seems this mission has something to do with metaphysics.'

"Alright. Give me the time and place. I'll go with him."
