Chapter 408: I Will Never Let You Go
Uriel trembled, his face turning deathly pale.
He had forgotten—the Angel Association had already cultivated a clone of him long ago.
Even if he died now, someone would immediately take his place.
He would be dead, but the Angel Association would still have the next Uriel!
His face was ashen. In the end, he extended his hand. "Please, be gentle."
"Of course. I've already prepared everything. The fact that I'm giving you an anesthetic is a testament to our relationship. Others wouldn't receive such a privilege."
Uriel closed his eyes. 'What good is a privilege?'
'It just means a little less pain. My arm will still be gone, won't it?'
The anesthetic needle quickly pierced his skin, and the drug was injected.
「Ten minutes later.」
He felt half his body go completely numb, devoid of any sensation.
The man mercilessly produced a dagger. When he pressed a button, the blade instantly extended, transforming the dagger into a long knife.
Uriel watched as the long knife swung toward his arm!
Blood splattered.
An arm fell to the ground.
He couldn't feel the pain, but he could sense something leaving him.
The man staunched the bleeding and bandaged the wound. "It will hurt a lot when the anesthetic wears off, so I've specially prepared some very good painkillers for you."
"You just need to take them for a month, and your wound will heal. The organization will then arrange for someone to fit you with a prosthetic, so it won't affect your public image."
The man nonchalantly picked up a prepared towel, wiped his weapon clean, then wiped his own face, resuming his former refined and gentle appearance.
He picked up the arm from the floor and placed it in a box. "I'll be leaving now."
With that, he turned and left.
Uriel looked at the blood on his body and gritted his teeth in fury. "Xiao Ye, I will never let you go! You better hope you never fall into my hands, or I'll make you wish you were dead!"
After leaving, the man changed his clothes before heading to Xiao Ye's residence.
He set the box down. "Mr. Xiao, this is a token of our sincerity. We've done as you asked. We hope you will show your sincerity as well."
The box opened, revealing a severed arm inside.
The tattoo on it clearly identified it as Uriel's; it wasn't a fake.
Xiao Ye smiled. "Of course. I'll accept this gift. You may go. If anything else comes up, notify me."
Seeing that Xiao Ye wasn't going to make things difficult, the man breathed a small sigh of relief.
'Regardless, a big problem has been solved for now.'
After the man left, Xiao Ye glanced at the arm and turned his head away in disgust. "You, come here."
A maid came forward. She saw the severed limb but her expression didn't change, as if she were looking at something perfectly ordinary.
"Mr. Xiao, what are your instructions?"
"Take this and feed it to the dogs."
The maid was taken aback for a moment but quickly complied, then carried the severed arm out.
A large wolfhound was kept outside the villa, in the backyard.
The arm was thrown over, and the large wolfhound caught it in one bite, starting to gnaw and crunch on it.
Xiao Ye watched until it was finished before looking away.
Next, there was another matter to attend to.
The university Hank had attended, Monkri University, was one of Country A's top science schools, with a high global ranking.
Originally, his grades had been excellent. He had even secured his own lab during his first year of graduate school.
Unfortunately, just a month later, his lab was snatched away by someone with connections.
With no other choice, he could only join that professor's lab to conduct his research.
His research direction differed from the professor's, and initially, no one took his work seriously.
But to everyone's surprise, Hank's direction turned out to be the correct one!
The moment his research yielded results, Hank's nightmare began!
Xiao Ye parked the car and entered the university with Zhu Chen.
The campus was large, and from time to time, you could see young men and women walking by, radiating youthful energy.
The two of them soon arrived at a lecture hall where a class was in session.
Inside a classroom, there were about twenty students.
And lecturing at the podium was none other than the professor.
He wore a shirt, his hair was graying, and he looked like a somewhat stern little old man.
Xiao Ye and Zhu Chen entered through the back door and found a place to sit.
The other students paid them no mind, assuming they were just visiting students or there to audit another professor's lecture.
Half an hour later, the bell rang, signaling the end of class.
The students left one by one, leaving only the professor, who was still finishing up.
Xiao Ye walked to the front. "Professor, do you remember Hank?"
The professor's hand paused. He looked up. "Who are you?"
"Who we are isn't important. What's important is whether you remember what you did to Hank. You stole the fruits of his labor for yourself, had him expelled from the university, and through your influence and interference, even turned him into a homeless man."
"And my guess is that your next move was to secretly find someone to kill Hank, or arrange for him to die in an 'accident,' right?"
The professor was shocked that someone knew what he had been planning but hadn't yet acted upon.
"I did no such thing! Don't you dare make such baseless accusations!"
'Baseless accusations?'
'He really has some nerve.'
Xiao Ye despised academic fraud and plagiarism.
Because such acts didn't just destroy a single student; they could destroy a talent vital to the country, or even the entire academic world!
If such things weren't dealt with, the academic world would become increasingly corrupt, and many glory hounds would destroy true talent!
Xiao Ye smiled faintly and took out his phone. "Your granddaughter and your daughter are very cute. They look like you, but at the same time, they're nothing like you."
"For the sake of fame, you're willing to destroy others, but the two of them are very kind. They even help homeless people, giving them money."
Watching the video on the phone, the professor couldn't help but tremble. "You can't touch my daughter! They're innocent!"
"My granddaughter is only five years old! How could you do something like this? You're monsters!"
Xiao Ye retorted, "And what about Hank? Wasn't he innocent? I'll give you one chance. By this time tomorrow, I want you to go on your personal social media accounts and to the school's public square to openly confess everything you did to Hank."
"If you can't do that, then this time next year will be the anniversary of your daughter's and granddaughter's deaths."
The professor trembled uncontrollably. He never imagined that a single act of academic theft could lead to such consequences.
Xiao Ye put his phone away and waved with a smile. "We're leaving. You should think it over carefully."
