Chapter 199: There's a Surprise Inside
Unable to find Shishi and filled with rage, Xiao Ming turned and left.
He completely failed to notice someone nearby slowly turning off their phone's record function.
'Very good. The spot where Xiao Ming was sitting was well-lit, so he could be seen clearly.'
The person recording slipped silently out of the bar and quickly handed the phone to someone outside.
In just one short hour.
A video quickly went viral online!
In the video, Xiao Ming was brutally attacking three women.
And it wasn't just that; even though the women were clearly begging for mercy, he didn't stop. He even smashed an ashtray over one of their heads, drawing blood.
He was clearly trying to kill them!
With the Zhu Family's intervention, coupled with the public's appetite for such conflicts…
The video quickly went viral.
In a short time, it had already racked up tens of millions of views, and the number was still growing exponentially.
The comment count was also skyrocketing.
"Who is this guy? What gives him the right to beat people like that?"
"This isn't just a beating, he's clearly trying to kill them!"
"Look at his clothes, all luxury brands. I just caught a glimpse of his watch, and it looked like a top international brand."
"So rich people can just do whatever they want? Those three women didn't even dare to talk back; they must have been terrified of provoking him!"
The comments pushed the video's popularity even higher.
Not only that, but the more people discussed it, the more would learn of Xiao Ming's depravity!
Xiao Ming, who had already left the bar, had no idea he had already caused a massive storm online.
He drove to his usual street-racing spot, planning to blow off some steam.
A young master from a first-rate family approached with a wide smile. "Young Master Xiao, my sincere apologies."
"There was a car accident up ahead. It's not cleared yet. Someone even hit the cliff wall, and now there are rocks all over the road."
"We can't race today. How about we try again tomorrow?"
"Damn my luck!" Xiao Ming spat.
He felt like ever since his competition with Xiao Ye, nothing had been going his way.
Seeing him about to leave, the other man hurried over. "Young Master Xiao, don't be in such a rush! I can see you're in a bad mood. You came here to relax, right?"
"Yeah, so if you've got nothing for me, then get the hell out of my way!"
"Don't be hasty! If you're looking to relax, I know just the place. I guarantee you'll be satisfied!"
Xiao Ming didn't feel like going home anyway. For some reason, the Xiao Family estate felt incredibly oppressive to him these days.
Besides, the wounds from Liu Loulan's beating still ached!
He was afraid he'd just get beaten again if he went back.
"Fine. What's this place you're talking about?"
"No need to rush. I'll take you there myself. I guarantee you'll love it!"
"It's the favorite spot for countless young masters from the great families!"
Soon, the two cars set off, one after the other.
Soon, they arrived at a location in the suburbs.
There was a villa on the property, but it was completely dark inside.
Xiao Ming's brow furrowed immediately. "What did you bring me here for?"
"Patience! There's a surprise inside!"
Led by the man, Xiao Ming entered the villa and made his way to the basement.
Xiao Ming's eyes widened in shock. Below him was a scene of dazzling splendor—it was a casino!
"H-How can there be a casino here?"
"Young Master Xiao, don't be alarmed. This casino is a secret. Don't worry, with your status, just playing for a bit is no problem at all."
Xiao Ming knew he was rich. So rich, in fact, that he had no real concept of money.
Egged on by the other man and swept up in the casino's atmosphere...
...he played more and more recklessly until, in just a short time, all his chips were gone!
Xiao Ming froze, then immediately demanded, "Where are my chips? How can they be gone?!"
He had started by exchanging a million, but as he got hooked, he simply exchanged for a hundred million.
With that much money, he thought he could play for days. Instead, it was all gone in just a few hours!
The man's smile faded slightly. "Young Master Xiao, you were playing with high-value chips. A hundred million... that's not really a large sum of money here!"
"If you'd like to continue, you can take out a loan. Our casino's cash flow can guarantee you'll be able to play to your heart's content!"
Xiao Ming might not be a genius, but he wasn't a complete idiot either.
Now that he had snapped out of it, a wave of belated fear washed over him.
'If I had kept playing without realizing what was happening, I probably would have gambled away every penny I have.'
'As for borrowing money? Absolutely not!'
With that thought, Xiao Ming fled!
「In a car across the street.」
Xiao Ye watched him leave and raised an eyebrow. "He didn't borrow any money?"
"No."
"He's smarter than I thought." 'Once you borrow from them, you can never escape.'
'A casino is quicksand!'
Xiao Ye lowered his binoculars. "Did you get it all on camera?"
"Got it. The footage of him entering and exiting the casino is perfectly clear. I even managed to film him while he was gambling inside!"
"Excellent. Report it now."
「One hour later.」
Officers from the police department arrived. To avoid alerting anyone, they approached in silence.
Soon, cries of alarm erupted from within the casino.
One by one, people were led out by heavily armed officers.
"Do you know who my father is? Let me go!"
The officer sneered. "Daring to pull this crap right in the Imperial City? I don't care who your daddy is. Take them all away!"
Seeing this, Xiao Ye felt reassured and departed.
「The next day.」
A massive news story once again sent public opinion into an uproar.
An illegal casino had been discovered in the Imperial City!
Many people were arrested inside. Not only that, but the casino's liquid assets were reported to be in the hundreds of millions!
The higher-ups demanded a thorough investigation, and in one fell swoop, the entire operation and everyone connected to it was rooted out.
At the same time.
Photos of Xiao Ming entering and exiting the casino began to circulate online.
"It's him! He's the guy who was beating up those women! He drives a sports car and goes to casinos!"
"I saw it on the news! That villa is the entrance to the underground casino!"
"Hurry up and arrest him too!"
The news once again reached the Xiao Family.
The members of the Xiao Family watched the news, each and every one of them silent.
They were all loyal to Liu Loulan, so their first instinct upon seeing the news was to find a way to suppress it.
Unfortunately, they failed.
After all, with the Zhu Family involved, getting the posts taken down wasn't so simple.
Besides, the situation had already blown up.
"What do we do now? Are we... still going to protect Xiao Ming?"
"Protect him? After getting into this kind of trouble, he's probably going to be arrested any minute. Even if we manage to bail him out and he gets off, do you really think he's fit to be the Xiao Family's Patriarch?"
The room fell silent.
A man with violent tendencies who also gambles...
...was indeed unfit to be Patriarch of the Xiao Family.
Otherwise, the Xiao Family would be courting its own destruction!
If it weren't for their loyalty to Liu Loulan, they would have long since abandoned this bastard, just like everyone else!
