Chapter 95: Let Them Come At Me Together
"Brother Qi!"
"Brother Qi!"
The spectators roared, their faces alight with excitement.
A refined figure slowly approached.
Brother Qi looked to be around forty, with a scholarly air and glasses.
As he walked, he waved to the crowd as if he were a celebrity making a personal appearance.
After nodding to the crowd with an affable smile, he took his seat at the judges' table.
Anyone who didn't know better would think he was a kind and benevolent man.
Who would have guessed that he was the underground Emperor of South City, a man who killed without batting an eye?
"That's Brother Qi."
Chu Yan took a deep breath. "Let's go."
The two of them left their private box and walked over to the judges' table.
Brother Qi wasn't surprised by Chu Yan's arrival. With a cigar dangling from his lips, he said, "Eldest Miss Chu, I've already told you my rules."
"Unless you can find someone to win a round, don't even think about taking anyone away from here!"
"I've found someone."
Chu Yan said, looking at Xiao Ye beside her. "It's him!"
It wasn't just Brother Qi; everyone around them was curious to see what kind of fighter the Eldest Miss of the Chu Family had found.
They never expected... it would be a pretty boy!
Someone immediately scoffed.
"Eldest Miss Chu sure has unique taste. Bringing a beanpole like him over, are you afraid he won't die a miserable enough death?"
"This is hilarious. How is someone like him supposed to fight? I bet he'll be down in two punches the moment he steps into the ring!"
"Kid, if you don't want to die, then get lost! Otherwise, you're not walking out of this fighting pit today!"
Even Brother Qi couldn't help but sneer, sizing Xiao Ye up. "Eldest Miss Chu, are you sure you want him to fight?"
"With a build like that, forget fighting. He'd probably have a hard time even hitting a woman!"
Most boxers had bulging muscles and lean, powerful physiques.
Among these fighters, Xiao Ye looked far too frail.
Moreover, every boxer had a ferocious look on his face. Xiao Ye, on the other hand, just looked indifferent.
However, this piqued Brother Qi's interest. The kid didn't seem to be faking it; he was genuinely unafraid. "Kid, don't throw your life away in a fit of passion for a beautiful woman."
Xiao Ye disliked the man's condescending gaze. He frowned slightly. "Cut the crap. Let's get this started. I have to get back early."
"Insolent!"
The people around them immediately roared, "Who the hell do you think you are, talking to Brother Qi like that!"
"Kid, you've got a mother who birthed you but didn't raise you! You have no manners at all!"
Hearing this, the look in Xiao Ye's eyes changed abruptly.
He might not know who his parents were, but he would not allow anyone to insult them!
"You're courting death!"
Xiao Ye raised his hand and grabbed the man's arm.
BANG!
The man was slammed viciously onto the ground, his waist catching the edge of a step. With a sharp CRACK, his spine snapped!
Brother Qi, who had been enjoying the show, felt his pupils shrink. It went without saying that his subordinates were capable.
But he never imagined one would be destroyed in a single move!
Brother Qi snapped out of it, a smile of keen interest spreading across his face.
'One subordinate's life in exchange for discovering something interesting,' he thought. 'I suppose his death had some value.'
He waved his hand, and his other men immediately dragged the body away, their expressions unchanging. They were clearly used to this.
Brother Qi took a puff of his cigar, his gaze fixed on Xiao Ye's face. "It seems I really did underestimate you. Fine. You're up next."
"Remember, it's not one match you have to win, but one round. You will face ten opponents!"
After the women in cheongsams cleaned up the ring, the host returned to the stage.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Today we have a challenger, a hired gun fighting for the Chu Family!"
"Next, he will be challenging an entire round!"
An entire round!
That's ten whole matches!
The crowd instantly erupted.
"Who is it? Get out here!"
"To this day, no one has ever successfully completed a one-round challenge, not even the best fighters."
"It's a gauntlet match! Whoever it is, they're dead for sure!"
Amidst the crowd's chatter, Xiao Ye flicked his Daoist Robe and walked onto the stage.
The previously fervent crowd immediately burst into a chorus of boos.
"Are you kidding me? This is the guy who's challenging a whole round?"
"Kid, get the hell off the stage! I don't want to watch a loser like you!"
"Get off!"
"Get off!"
Some even started throwing things onto the stage.
The host hurried forward. "Everyone, please calm down."
"This man is indeed the next fighter. Whether he wins or loses, we'll only know after the fight!"
With that, he held the microphone out to Xiao Ye.
He said the right words, but the contempt in his eyes was painfully obvious.
"This... fighter, since you're a last-minute entry, we don't yet know your name or your record."
Xiao Ye pushed the microphone away and waved his hand in disgust. "Move. Just bring them on. I don't want to waste my time here."
"Or better yet, have all ten of them come at me at once."
Although the fighting tournament had rules about using only permitted moves...
...Xiao Ye was already a master of not only fist techniques, but other skills as well.
Forget ten opponents; even twenty might not withstand a single blow from him!
In the eyes of the crowd, however, Xiao Ye's calmness came across as blind arrogance.
The host's smile grew even more disdainful. "It seems this fighter is very confident. However, we have rules here. It's one-on-one only."
"Then hurry up and send them out."
Xiao Ye said, stretching his arms. "Who's first? On second thought, don't bother with a name. I'm not interested in knowing!"
His insolent attitude made the discussions below even more clamorous.
"Forget ten, he's finished after just one!"
"This kid is way too cocky. Does he have any idea what an underground fighting ring even is?"
"I can't wait to see the pathetic sight of him getting knocked out with one punch!"
"Just get on with it already!"
The host now looked at Xiao Ye as if he were a dead man. "Since you're in such a hurry, then let us welcome our next fighter—Black Dragon!"
Black Dragon was also one of the most renowned fighters.
He stepped onto the stage, looked at Xiao Ye, and sneered, "A piece of trash like you dares to be my opponent!"
Xiao Ye was handsome, and his Daoist Robe gave him a graceful, elegant air, but he was completely out of place here.
Across from him, Black Dragon stood bare-chested, a mass of muscle nearly two meters tall. He looked like a small, moving mountain.
The contrast between the two was stark, and nearly everyone in the crowd was betting on Black Dragon.
"I'm putting my money on Black Dragon!"
"I'll bet on the kid. He's definitely going to lose, but it's been a long time since I've seen someone this interesting. Hope he doesn't die too horribly!"
"Black Dragon, beat him to death for me! I want you to smash his brains out!"
Black Dragon grinned savagely, cracked his knuckles, and rolled his neck, which let out a sharp CRACK.
"Kid, did you hear that? They want me to smash your brains out!"
"You?"
Xiao Ye looked at his physique without a trace of fear. "The person who can smash my brains out probably hasn't been born yet!"
Black Dragon's expression darkened. He actually felt like he was being looked down on!
But he quickly laughed out loud. "Kid, today I'm going to show you what a real fight is!"
As his voice fell, his mountain-like body charged forward, intending to grab Xiao Ye for a body slam!
The audience below stared with wide eyes.
They couldn't help but imagine that this one body slam would surely snap Xiao Ye's neck!
