Only Got My Martial Arts Modifier in My Old Age

Chapter 124 - 85: This Land of Daxia is Rich in Talented People

Overlord Chu possessed Innate Divine Power. His all-conquering Martial Dao Will was even madder, wilder, and more relentless than Emperor Zulong’s.

He alone could hunt down and slaughter an entire army of Outer Celestial Demons, killing them to the point of existential despair.

Then there was that unparalleled monster, the King of the Western Regions. His Martial Dao Will was to slaughter everything.

That’s not a metaphor. It’s literal.

Wherever he passed, not a single blade of grass survived. He didn’t care if you were a Celestial Demon, a human, or some ghoul or goblin.

Anything that stood in his way was slaughtered. Eventually, even they, the Outer Celestial Demons, would make a detour at the mere sight of his banner.

Oh, and that guy was always shouting something like, "Heaven brings forth ten thousand things to sustain man, yet man has not a single thing to repay Heaven..."

’Then there was that Tiangong General of the Yellow Heaven Corps. How could I even describe his will?’

’It was perverse. More perverse than us Outer Celestial Demons.’

"The Azure Sky is dead; the Yellow Sky shall rise." That wasn’t a slogan. It was his genuine Martial Dao Will.

Even they, the Outer Celestial Demons, couldn’t compare to that level of madness—the kind that screamed, ’I will replace Heaven and Earth itself!’

Then there was the Lifeless Lotus Sect. Those lunatics were even more perverse, with their talk of an "Eternal Home and Unborn Progenitors."

Their Martial Dao Will was to become gods, Buddhas—beings that transcended all existence.

’Don’t they kill Celestial Demons?’ No, they even killed their own people. To achieve their "Dao," they would kill anything.

Each was more perverse and more terrifying than the last.

At this thought, the foreigner, Thorne, gave a helpless, bitter smile. ’My race, the esteemed Outer Celestial Demons, are a catastrophe in other worlds—a natural disaster, an unstoppable force of destruction.’

’And yet, here in the land of Daxia, we were hunted down like rats in the street.’

’And look at me now. An Outer Celestial Demon on par with a Grandmaster of Divine Intent, forced to hide and scrabble for survival. I’ve been in hiding for hundreds of years.’

’It was only a hundred years ago that I used the last of the Immortal Flesh to cultivate this Western body—one comparable to a Grandmaster of Divine Intent in Daxia—and possessed it.’

’Fortunately, Heaven didn’t favor those titans of Daxia forever. They all brought about their own doom.’

’Every last one of them tried to break through to the Realm beyond Grandmaster of Divine Intent.’

Emperor Zulong failed his attempt and died from the backlash. Overlord Chu failed his attempt and died from the backlash.

The King of the Western Regions, the Tiangong General, those madmen from the Lifeless Lotus Sect... one after another, they all fell on that same path.

One by one, they died.

And so, we Outer Celestial Demons, somehow, inexplicably, survived the most terrifying of ages.

We had been beaten into submission, slaughtered by those titans until we were scared out of our wits. We fled the land of Daxia in droves—to the Western World, to the Southern Ocean, to Wa Country, to any place those madmen had not yet tainted.

Centuries passed. The Outer Celestial Demons who had escaped, carrying the remaining Immortal Flesh with them, took root in those new lands. They multiplied and infiltrated.

They distributed the Immortal Flesh to Westerners, to the people of the Southern Ocean, to the people of Wa Country. They had them consume it, grow strong, and become suitable vessels for possession.

But before they fled, some of the Outer Celestial Demons were unwilling to leave with their tails between their legs.

They did one last thing. They propped up the Yin Court, indirectly allowing it to rule the land of Daxia for centuries.

And those bastards in the Yin Court didn’t disappoint. The history of the preceding dynasties was altered time and time again.

The deeds of those titans were erased, distorted, or relegated to myth and legend, leading future generations to believe they were merely stories.

They suppressed the people, using all sorts of methods to corrupt their minds, making them numb, obedient, and devoid of their former mettle.

This ensured that the land of Daxia would no longer produce such absurdly powerful individuals.

Of course, it also made it easier for the Yin Court to hold onto their vast empire in Daxia.

’Thankfully, my long wait wasn’t in vain. These Western bodies have brought the possessing Outer Celestial Demons quite a few surprises.’

Airplanes, cannons, ironclad ships, foreign rifles... not even a Grandmaster of Divine Intent could withstand their power.

A single cannon blast could shatter any Martial Dao Will or indestructible body into fragments.

’Surely there can’t be another human expert even more monstrous than Emperor Zulong, can there?’

’That old man from before was certainly skilled, probably at the Peak of Huajin. But compared to the likes of Emperor Zulong, he was far too weak.’

The first invasion of the Yin Court by the Western Countries was merely a probing attack by a vanguard force.

The main purpose was for the Outer Celestial Demons to see if there were any tough bastards left in the magical land of Daxia.

As expected, they were very satisfied with the results of that first probe.

It seemed those titans were truly all dead. So, after cautiously waiting another thirty years past the founding of the Daxia New Country, the Outer Celestial Demons who had possessed the leaders of the Western Countries could finally set their minds at ease.

Thorne looked down at his hands. This vessel’s power was that of a Grandmaster of Divine Intent.

’It’s not as good as a true Grandmaster of Divine Intent from Daxia, but it’s enough.’

Now, he was among the first batch of Outer Celestial Demons to return to the land of Daxia after centuries.

"Hmph. I’ll let you off for now!"

The foreigner, Thorne, watched the direction in which Lu Yun had disappeared, a sinister smile playing on his lips.

He turned and cast his gaze northward, toward Yanjing City, the capital of the Daxia New Country.

"After I meet with that new president of your Daxia... it will be time for my people to return with a vengeance."

’The rift in the Kunlun Secret Realm has reappeared. My people will once again descend upon this world, and with them, of course, will come a vast amount of Immortal Flesh.’

The sound of hurried footsteps approached the gates of the Incense Hall. The inspector from the Patrol Office had finally arrived, his men in tow.

His eyes first landed on the corpse of the consul from Great Britain lying on the ground.

Then, the inspector’s gaze shifted to the foreigner, Thorne, standing nearby in tattered clothes.

His legs began to weaken. ’What the fuck just happened?’

In the blink of an eye, not only was the Honorable Consul dead, but this Count from Great Britain also looked as if he’d been attacked.

A situation like this... forget a mere Patrol Office inspector like him; even the governor of Nanling Province would probably piss himself on the spot if he were here!

The inspector braced himself and stumbled forward, his voice trembling. "My Lord Count! Are you alright?"

The foreigner Thorne didn’t spare him a glance. He simply walked to the black sedan, opened the door, and got in.

"Take his body back."

After he spoke, the car’s engine started, and it slowly pulled away from the chaotic street.

The inspector stood frozen, taking a long moment to come to his senses.

He looked down at the ghastly corpse, then at his own men and the foreign soldiers collapsed on the ground. The world began to spin.

’What the fuck kind of day is this?’

After a moment of helpless fury, the inspector waved a trembling hand. "Quick, quick! Get the Honorable Consul’s body into a vehicle! Take it back to the concession!"

"And you, go notify the Chief Inspector! Tell him the Honorable Consul is dead!"
