Chen Dong let out a humorless laugh. "He used a Secret Technique to try and ambush me, and you're asking me what I mean?"

"Xu Fu was merely verifying your identity. How can you call that an ambush?"

Chen Dong had no proof; the Secret Technique had been burned to nothingness by his Heart Fire.

Jiang Hongqin pressed on, "You agreed to lower your defenses, but Xu Fu's restriction technique didn't work. It seems to me you're the one with ulterior motives, yet you have the audacity to act so righteous."

Chen Dong's eyes narrowed. "That's because his techniques are crude. I let him try to seal me, and he still couldn't do it!"

That was what Chen Dong said, but in truth, his mastery of Arrays and restrictions was so profound that any below the fourth-tier were completely useless against him. Even a fourth-tier one would only be a minor inconvenience.

Jiang Hongqin sneered. "Xu Fu is from the Xuan Cang Sect. How dare you say his techniques are crude? In my opinion, you're not worthy of being Murong's husband at all!"

Chen Dong knew of the Xuan Cang Sect; it was a famous major sect affiliated with the Cyan Sky Sect. Jiang Hongqin's words meant nothing to him. 'As if someone like her has any right to decide whether I'm worthy or not.'

But Murong Qing immediately grew angry. "Sister Jiang, what are you saying?"

Jiang Hongqin, however, spoke as if she had Murong Qing's best interests at heart. "Little Sister Murong, this man left you so casually two years ago with just a single word. Now he suddenly shows up here and severely injures Xu Fu. A heartless, faithless man like him isn't worth the effort you've spent searching for him. Xu Fu is a thousand times better, and he's completely devoted to you. I wouldn't have tried to persuade you before we ran into this man, but now I must. Leave him. Chen Dong ignored her, instead taking Murong Qing's hand and looking for an open spot to sit down.

Jiang Hongqin and her husband exchanged a look, then shouted, "Form the Array!"

In an instant, the group surrounded Chen Dong and Murong Qing again. Jiang Hongqin stared at Chen Dong and said, "If you want to leave, leave Little Sister Murong behind!"

Chen Dong shook his head, speechless. "And why would I leave her behind?"

"She's part of our team! She can't see her path clearly right now, and as her older sister, I have to help her!"

Chen Dong said coolly, "I don't want to make enemies of you. Don't be so full of yourselves."

"You're the one who's full of himself! There are so many of us, and you're just at the Early-stage Golden Core. If you want to die here in the depths of the Demon Realm, don't drag Murong down with you!"

Chen Dong sighed softly.

Just then, a vast demonic aura enveloped the valley, and everyone's expression changed in an instant.

Zhang Tashan said in terror, "Our fighting must have been detected!"

Xu Fu glared at Chen Dong with hatred. "It's all his fault! We went through so much to get here!"

Jiang Hongqin stared into the air. "It's here. Everyone, be careful!"

The mist in the air thickened, and a female demon who looked more like a Fairy revealed herself.

But the Fairy-like demon landed right beside Chen Dong. She presented a vibrant yellow Spirit Flower with both hands—it was an Earth Flower. The demon was none other than Liu Ling.

Liu Ling spoke respectfully to Chen Dong, "Master, the Earth Flower you asked for."

As soon as Chen Dong heard that Jiang Hongqin had saved Murong Qing, he had dispatched Liu Ling to retrieve the flower. With her status as a Great Demon, it was easy for her to control the Demon Race members guarding the Earth Flower, thus avoiding alerting the Nascent Soul Stage Great Demon presiding over the Spirit Vein.

Chen Dong took the Earth Flower and tossed it to Jiang Hongqin. "Consider this part of the repayment."

Then, he vanished from the spot with Liu Ling and Murong Qing.

The team was still in shock long after Chen Dong and the others had left. They were simply too stunned. That was a Nascent Soul Great Demon, yet this man could command her!

They had never even heard of a Nascent Soul Great Demon being controlled by a member of the Human Race. No wonder this man was able to travel so deep into the Demon Realm alone.

After a long moment of shock, however, Zhang Tashan snapped back to his senses. "We're doomed! Murong's been taken away! How are we supposed to get back now?"
