Qi Rao had snuck back to break the Array, infiltrate the residence, and launch a surprise attack on the pair. He knew Chen Dong's Daoist techniques were formidable, and Tian Sisi was even a First-grade Profound Pill. Still, he was confident he could severely injure them in a single strike before they noticed him.

'With this cloak that shields Divine Sense, I'll never be discovered. Capturing them will not only get me Tian Sisi, but I can also force Chen Dong to reveal his Daoist techniques.' No one would ever expect him to make a move while the emissaries from the Floating Shadow Realm were present. He hadn't even expected it himself, let alone the two inside the residence. He transformed into a shadow and melted into the residence, but the sight before him left him utterly dumbfounded.

'An illusory Array space? How can there be another Array! Aren't the Military Suppression Department residences supposed to have only a single Second Order Array? And this one looks anything but simple.'

Qi Rao momentarily considered retreating, but when he looked back, the way he came was gone. The space was identical in every direction. He had no choice but to take out his Array Flags and attempt to break this new Array.

But as he deployed the Array Flags, they merely spun around him. Suddenly, the entire set burst into flames. He was horrified—he had spent a fortune in treasures on those flags!

Just as he was about to cast a spell to save them, he felt an immense, scorching heat as his own Magic Robe ignited. Worse, no matter how he tried to smother the fire, the flames could not be extinguished.

As if floating on cloud nine, Chen Dong split off a sliver of his Divine Sense to check on the "mouse" in his Array. 'This is the Tier Three Fiery Body Devouring Array. As long as the Array isn't broken, the flames will never die. This little rat is in for a world of pain. A more powerful Cultivator might be able to break free, but at this mouse's level, he's probably going to be burned to a crisp.'

Inside the Array, Qi Rao was just as Chen Dong had predicted: utterly helpless. He screamed hoarsely, but no sound could escape the confines of the Array.

Qi Rao's heart turned vicious. 'No, if this continues, I'll be burned alive! My only choice is to abandon this shell. It's a pity, though. This body was so handsome.'

Covered in flames, Qi Rao ripped open the skin on top of his head, revealing a demonic face underneath. It was shriveled, terrifying, and crawling with maggots. After shedding his shell, his cultivation surged. A skeletal claw lashed out, and a ghostly light tore a hole in the Array.

Chen Dong's Divine Sense reeled. 'Good heavens, what kind of Cultivator is that?'

Just as he was about to manipulate the Array to mend the breach, he was pulled into an embrace as soft as water by Tian Sisi. "You're getting distracted at a time like this!"

In that fleeting moment, Qi Rao slipped through the opening in the Array and fled.

'Oh, well. I'll deal with him later when I have the chance.' And so, Chen Dong refocused his attention completely.

After the spring shower had passed, a thunderous roar erupted from the Jade Embryo within him. "Chen~~~~~Dong~! You-you-you-you-you… you're not human!…"

Only then did Chen Dong remember Mu Qingzhu was there.

"I…" Chen Dong wanted to explain, but he couldn't find the right words.

'What am I supposed to do now?' He and Mu Qingzhu shared the same body, the same sensations. He felt like he had taken advantage of her in a way he couldn't even explain.

But Mu Qingzhu's shouting soon turned to crying. "You're not human! You're not human, you're not human… Waaaah…"

Chen Dong ruthlessly roared back in his mind, 'What are you crying for? Tian Sisi is my Dao Companion! And you're still crying?!'

But Mu Qingzhu's sobs in his mind only grew louder and more intense, filled with utter misery.

While Chen Dong was nursing a headache from the internal drama, Tian Sisi looked at him with a serene smile. "You weren't nearly as gentle and caring back then by the Cold Pool as you were today."

As she spoke, one of her delicate hands caressed his cheek, and she leaned in to kiss him.

From within the Jade Embryo, Mu Qingzhu shrieked frantically, 'Again?! No! I'm begging you, Chen Dong, don't! Please, no!…'

Night fell, and the sky filled with brilliant stars. Elsewhere, the alliance negotiations between the two realms continued.

Chen Dong, for his part, was resting his head on Tian Sisi's lap, enjoying a moment of tranquil bliss.

Within the Jade Embryo, however, Mu Qingzhu was filled with immense hatred, endlessly repeating, 'I'm going to kill you! I'm going to kill you! The moment I get out of this body, I swear I will kill you!…'

Tian Sisi ran her fingers through Chen Dong's hair. "Didn't you say there was something you wanted me to do?" she asked.

Chen Dong hesitated for a moment, but said it anyway. "I'd like you to help me find a Martial Artist named Murong Zhi."

"Murong Zhi? That name sounds vaguely familiar. I think after you disappeared, a Female Cultivator was asking around about you." Her tone shifted in an instant. Tian Sisi's brow furrowed as she asked coldly, "You're looking for her, and she's looking for you. What is your relationship, exactly?"

Chen Dong rubbed his nose and mumbled, "She's also my Dao Companion."

An instantaneous chill filled the air. "Get off," Tian Sisi ordered, her voice like ice.

Chen Dong quickly scrambled off her lap.

"Sisi, I…"

"Get out!"

Chen Dong tried to step forward and explain, but a massive wave of Spiritual Qi instantly blasted him out into the courtyard.

"If you don't leave now, I'll kill you!"

'Looks like Sisi is furious,' Chen Dong thought. 'I'll have to wait until she cools down to explain.'

Just as Chen Dong was about to leave, he remembered he had rearranged the Array in the courtyard. He turned and shouted, "Sisi, I reconfigured the courtyard Array! I'll make you a new Array Token in a bit…"

He hadn't even finished his sentence when a graceful figure shot into the air. Countless blades of light rained down, instantly reducing the pristine courtyard to ruins.

Chen Dong was stunned. 'This…' Before he could even form a thought, a cold gleam of light shot toward him.
