The Master and His Wealthy Fiancée

Chapter 119: Giant Snake

The snakes at the very front were now only three or four meters away. With no other choice, the man in the suit reluctantly scattered the medicinal powder.

The patch of ethereal blue flowers instantly withered upon contact with the white powder, causing the four men's hearts to ache at the sight.

The swarm of snakes in front of them also stopped before the line of powder, not daring to advance.

Yang Lin said worriedly, "What do we do? With this snake swarm here, it'll be very difficult for us to get the Ghost Essence in the distance."

The stern man gripped his dagger tightly. "Now is not the time to worry about that!"

Because he had spotted several giant snakes, each as thick as a man's thigh, slithering toward them.

Two of the giant snakes attacked first. Utterly unafraid of the white powder, they lunged at the four men with gaping maws.

The stern man met one head-on, channeling True Qi into his dagger before plunging it into the great snake's head. The creature cried out in pain, its body thrashing wildly and crushing the fields of Ghost Essence.

Glimmering blue specks of light flickered in the air before vanishing.

The other great snake had its head lopped off by the farmer's shovel, its headless body similarly wiping out a patch of the ethereal blue flowers as it writhed.

This caused the four members of the Yang Family immense heartache. Gritting their teeth, they exchanged a look. They had all reached the same conclusion: they couldn't keep killing snakes this way.

The four men immediately pulled out stacks of Yellow Talismans. With a toss, a talisman struck one of the great snakes on the head, freezing it in place instantly.

Soon, dozens of the great snakes were immobilized by the Yellow Talismans.

The four members of the Yang Family looked at one another, let out a sigh of relief, and broke into smiles.

But before their happiness could take root, a colossal shadow accompanied by a mighty gust of wind tore past them, whipping up the ethereal blue Ghost Essence and making the yellowish lamplight flicker.

AHHH! A scream tore through the air. Only then did they see the colossal shadow's true form.

A terrifying, giant snake with unfurled wings and a body dozens of meters long hovered in the air. If not for its lack of claws, they would have mistaken it for a dragon. Its head alone was the size of a small truck, its two sharp fangs over three meters long. The man in the suit had been impaled through the chest by one of those fangs and was now hanging from it, wailing in agony!

"Dad!" Yang Lin's eyes were wide with terror, his body trembling.

"Big Brother!" the others from the Yang Family cried out in shock.

Faced with such a monster, even though they were all Grandmasters, they felt a primal, physical fear.

The great snake's scarlet, vertical pupils looked down on the Yang Family members with utter contempt. With a flick of its massive head, the man in the suit was instantly flung from its fang.

Yang Lin leaped forward to catch the man in the suit, but the snake's massive tail whipped toward them. In an instant, both men were sent flying.

The farmer, wielding his shovel, executed two nimble dodges and chopped down at the giant snake's vital point, seven inches below its head. A shower of sparks erupted. The farmer's hands went numb from the impact, but the great snake was completely unharmed.

The third brother, the stern man, clenched his dagger and slashed fiercely at the great snake's belly, only to be met with another burst of sparks.

The great snake turned its head, looking at the Yang Family's second and third brothers as if they were nothing but ants. With a single movement, it swept toward them like a hurricane.

The two men froze on the spot, their eyes filled with terror. The sheer, heaven-and-earth difference in power was suffocating; they had never imagined that such a terrifying creature could exist in this world.

The pupils in the farmer's eyes dilated. He was locked in place. The oppressive aura left him no room to dodge as a great, bloody maw descended and swallowed him whole. He didn't even have time to scream.

The stern man cried out in anguish, "Second Brother!"

After swallowing the farmer, the great snake flicked out its tongue as if wiping its massive mouth. Then, it lunged toward the stern man.

A figure in yellow leaped out from the nearby pool, instantly firing dozens of Yellow Talismans in midair. The talismans struck the great snake's head one after another, causing it to halt and shake its head.

Seeing the figure in yellow, the stern man cried out in grief, "Father! Big Brother, Second Brother, and Little Lin'Er, they..."

The old man stared at the great snake with a grave expression. "Leave this to me. Go check on your big brother and Little Lin'Er!"

The stern man nodded and hurried over to help up Yang Lin, who was unconscious and bleeding from the mouth. He checked and found he was still breathing. Not far away, the man in the suit was also taking shallow breaths, but his face had turned a deathly purple. The blood flowing from his abdomen was black; it was clear he wasn't going to make it.

Meanwhile, the great snake flicked its tongue, its vertical eyes seeming to hold a playful glint. It coiled its body and struck in an instant, lashing its tail at the old man.

The old man condensed his True Qi, shrouding himself in a protective barrier. He shot upward, dodging the tail, and threw a punch at the great snake's vital point.

The great snake's massive body twisted in the air, causing the old man's punch, which had been aimed at its weak spot, to land on its back. It was like striking a wall of steel.

Failing to land a decisive blow, the old man vaulted onto the great snake's body and unleashed a flurry of punches on its back.

The great snake merely writhed once before its massive jaws snapped at the old man.

The old man dodged repeatedly, avoiding the terrifying fangs, but was still slammed in the chest by the snake's head and knocked out of the air.

He barely managed to right himself before landing. The fury in his eyes had mostly vanished, replaced by dread. With a grim expression, he said, "This thing is a monster... we're no match for it! Take Little Lin'Er and your big brother and go! I'll hold it off!"

The stern man quickly gathered the two heavily injured men and leaped into the pool.

Seeing his chance, the old man also prepared to jump into the pool. 'As long as we get into the water,' he thought, 'we should be safe.'

The monster snake's body was immense; the entrance to the underwater passage was smaller than its head. It couldn't possibly give chase.

But to his horror, the great snake roared at the sky. A massive column of water instantly erupted from the pool, dragging the three who had just escaped back out within it.

The old man looked at the great snake, his eyes filled with terror. 'A monster that can control the Power of Heaven and Earth... How can we possibly fight it? Are all of us from the Yang Family going to die here today?'
