That night, Li Huiran hugged the inert form beside her, her thoughts preoccupied with Chen Dong still sleeping on the floor. It felt inappropriate, but she couldn't bring herself to suggest anything else.

She didn't want him sleeping in another room, but she didn't want him sleeping on the bed, either. Caught in a dilemma, she eventually drifted into a deep sleep.

In the middle of the night, Wang Mengyu woke up groggily. The unfamiliar room startled her, and she felt a surge of anger as she realized someone was holding her. But she felt no discomfort, and a quick check confirmed her clothes were still on, which put her somewhat at ease.

Then she smelled the faint fragrance on the bed, felt the smooth arm around her waist, and realized the person hugging her wasn't a man.

A strange wave of disappointment washed over her. Turning her head, Wang Mengyu struggled to make out the woman's face in the dim light and saw, to her surprise, that it was Li Huiran.

Since it was Li Huiran, she relaxed completely and went back to sleep.

When Li Huiran woke up the next morning, she was shocked to find Wang Mengyu sleeping naked beside her. Chen Dong was still sleeping in the same room!

She hurriedly nudged Wang Mengyu, but her friend just wriggled and mumbled, "Girl, don't mess around. Let me sleep a little longer!"

Li Huiran was furious at this shameless display; it was infuriating. She didn't dare shout for Wang Mengyu to get up, afraid Chen Dong would see. Her only option was to pull the blanket up, covering Wang Mengyu completely.

In truth, Chen Dong was also in an awkward position. The moment he got up, he had frozen at the sight on the bed. He was about to walk right out, but then Li Huiran woke up, forcing him to pretend he was still asleep.

Only after Wang Mengyu was covered did he get up, feigning having just woken. After Chen Dong left the room, Li Huiran finally smacked Wang Mengyu awake.

At breakfast, Wang Mengyu came out wearing a set of Li Huiran's clothes. They were a little too snug on her, a sight that made Li Huiran want to tear the woman to shreds.

Chen Dong smiled. "She's great, aside from her temper."

Li Jianwen was delighted to hear this. "A temper is just how she deals with certain people. Look at your mother-in-law. She's gentle with everyone but me. What does that tell you? It means she likes you, she cares about you! That's why she's fierce with you!"

Chen Dong rubbed his nose. "Is that really how it is? Or is she only fierce with you because of that business with you and Yuan Wenwen?"

Li Jianwen was mortified. "We agreed not to talk about this!"

Chen Dong laughed. "Alright, alright, I won't say another word. I only brought it up because it's just the two of us in the car."

With his weak spot exposed, Li Jianwen kept his mouth shut for the rest of the ride.

Not long after they arrived at the company, the routine meeting began.

In the familiar Conference Room Two, Li Huiran sat at the head of the table, announcing recent directives and targets.

After Li Huiran finished speaking, Xuan Kexin stood up. "General Manager, I propose we assign some tasks to the General Affairs Department. They're just collecting paychecks for doing nothing all day, which is disheartening for many of our colleagues!"

Chen Dong was taken aback. 'This woman really has it in for me, doesn't she?'

But before Chen Dong could speak, Wang Hao shot to his feet. "We work hard every day, you know!" he said loudly.

Xuan Kexin sneered. "Hard at what? Getting tired from playing video games?"

"Then tell us what you want us to do," Wang Hao retorted.

Xuan Kexin's eyes narrowed. "Since taking over the company's finances, I've found many old, uncollected debts. Why doesn't the General Affairs Department handle those? And certain team leaders should stop throwing tantrums over small tasks, acting all high and mighty just because they have powerful backing."

Xuan Kexin was staring at Chen Dong as she spoke, but Wang Hao, who was sitting right next to Chen Dong and was himself a team leader, couldn't take the insult.

He immediately shot back, "Fine! But some finance manager had better not get all snide about it later!"

Xuan Kexin hadn't expected Wang Hao to accept the task so readily. Anyone who had worked in finance knew that the older the debt, the harder it was to collect. But as long as the General Affairs Department took the job, she could thoroughly humiliate Chen Dong when they inevitably failed.

Li Huiran knew how difficult it would be. She spoke up, saying, "Those old debts are indeed very hard to collect. The General Affairs Department can give it a try."

Xuan Kexin immediately pounced. "We can't just 'give it a try.' The General Affairs Department must put in a serious effort. I'm not asking for all of it, but they need to collect at least one-third. Otherwise, they don't deserve their salaries!"

"One-third it is! If the General Affairs Department pulls it off, I want you to apologize for what you said today!" Wang Hao declared.

Xuan Kexin laughed. "If you can do it, I'll personally serve tea and apologize to every single person in your department!"

She knew the company's books. The old debts added up to over 600 million. Collecting one-third—a whopping 200 million—was harder than climbing to heaven.

Seeing that Wang Hao had already accepted, Li Huiran could only rub her temples with a headache. There was no choice but to let them try.

At the end of the meeting, Li Huiran gave a final order. "Project Team One, transfer all your current projects to Project Team Two in the coming days. Manager Xiaoye, stay behind after the meeting. I have something to say to you."

Just as Wang Hao returned from the Finance Department carrying a huge stack of account statements, Li Huiran was giving Xiaoye the order to take over the Huang Company.
