Divine Wilderness Dragon Emperor

Chapter 126 125: Encountering Shangguan Wan'Er

Ling Fei's spirits lifted as he gazed at the sudden burst of colorful light.

He then continued forward.

However, the Corpse Qi here was incredibly dense. It swirled about as a thick mist, forming a potent Corpse Miasma Qi.

This dense Corpse Miasma Qi filled the abyss ahead. Not even birds could fly here, and there was no trace of any Demon Beasts.

'How can there be such a dense Corpse Miasma Qi here?' Ling Fei was astonished.

He finally understood why he hadn't seen a single Demon Beast in the Mountain Abyss.

The miasma was so potent that not even Demon Beasts could withstand it.

Even Ling Fei found the miasma oppressive.

The Corpse Qi it contained was particularly potent; inhaling just a little was enough to make one's mind grow hazy.

'Dragon Bone Pen!' With a thought, Ling Fei activated the Dragon Bone Pen.

A Light Pattern flashed on his back, and it was as if a True Dragon had emerged.

The Dragon Pen then appeared in his hand.

INHALE!

With a thought, Ling Fei activated the Dao Pattern within the Dragon Bone Pen.

As his consciousness made contact, the Dao Pattern flickered and was instantly activated.

A massive Qi Vortex then appeared, and all the miasma ahead howled as it was sucked into the Dragon Bone Pen.

This caused the miasma ahead to thin out.

Holding the Dragon Bone Pen, Ling Fei continued forward.

However, after traveling another fifty miles, the miasma had built up again, becoming incredibly dense once more.

'Holding the pen to absorb the miasma is too mentally draining. I might as well let the Dragon Bone in my spine absorb it directly.' With that thought, Ling Fei activated his Dragon Bone.

A Qi Vortex emerged on his back, pulling in a large amount of miasma.

Yet, Ling Fei remained completely unaffected by the miasma.

'This is much better.' A smile touched Ling Fei's lips. This way, he could absorb the miasma to clear his path without revealing the Dragon Bone Pen.

It was clearly the best method.

Finally, a day later, Ling Fei reached the end of the Mountain Abyss.

A mountain ridge lay before him.

Ling Fei climbed the ridge and looked out. The entire sky ahead was shrouded in a rainbow-colored light.

Light Patterns flowed and swirled amidst the clouds and mist, making the area look like a sacred paradise.

Looking closer, he could see a massive hill beneath the rainbow-colored light.

The hill was surrounded on all sides by mountain peaks, like a gathering of stars paying homage to the moon.

'So this hill is the source of the phenomenon.' Ling Fei's eyes sharpened. The rainbow-colored light was indeed erupting from within it.

If one's Soul Power were strong enough, they would be able to perceive streams of Essence Qi gathering from all directions across the ancient ruins and flowing into the hill.

In turn, a dense Heaven and Earth Essence Qi emanated from the hill, forming a cycle.

It was... like a grand Feng Shui formation!

'I wonder what kind of Supreme Treasure is inside?' Ling Fei's eyes filled with curiosity.

He then descended the ridge and headed forward.

As Ling Fei pressed on, his confusion only grew.

The mountain forest was clearly filled with incredibly dense Heaven and Earth Essence Qi, yet it was also thick with miasma and a heavy stench of Corpse Qi.

Even Celestial Spirit Realm Cultivators would find this miasma difficult to handle. Prolonged exposure would lead to erosion by the miasma, eventually causing them to lose their sanity.

If they were to encounter a Demon Beast on top of that, it would be even more trouble.

This was why many of the young Celestial Spirit Realm experts who had previously reached this area had all retreated.

Many had even perished here.

'It's a good thing I have the Dragon Bone Pen. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to get in or out of this place at all,' Ling Fei thought with relief as he felt the density of the miasma.

WHOOSH!

Just as Ling Fei was feeling relieved, a Blood-Eyed Giant Lion suddenly leaped out from the mountain forest.

The lion was massive, and its imposing aura was that of the Celestial Spirit Realm.

As it pounced, Ling Fei's brow twitched, and his eyes locked onto the Blood-Eyed Giant Lion.

ROAR! A deep, draconic roar erupted from Ling Fei, slamming into the giant lion.

THUD!

The giant lion froze instantly, its mind reeling. Fear filled its scarlet eyes; its very spirit had been overwhelmed by the roar.

"Die!" With a flip of his palm, the Celestial River Sword appeared in Ling Fei's hand, and he stabbed it through the air at the Blood-Eyed Giant Lion.

SWISH!

All his power concentrated into a single point, the sword thrust pierced through the Blood-Eyed Giant Lion's ribs and into its heart.

And with that, the Blood-Eyed Giant Lion breathed its last.

Ling Fei withdrew his long sword, and the lion's body collapsed to the ground.

'A Celestial Spirit Realm Demon Beast, yet its body gives off miasma and its eyes are blood-red... It must have been corrupted by the Corpse Miasma Qi and mutated,' Ling Fei mused, glancing at the lion on the ground.

'These miasma-corrupted Demon Beasts are extremely berserk. If I hadn't stunned its spirit with the True Dragon Roar, killing it would have been much harder.'

'This lion's flesh is tainted with Evil Qi, so it won't sell for much.' Shaking his head, Ling Fei paid the corpse no further mind.

He then continued on his way.

「One day later」

Ling Fei finally arrived in the vicinity of the great hill.

Gazing ahead, he could now clearly see the hill.

'Corpses!' As he moved forward, Ling Fei discovered body after body.

Some of them were students from the Three Great Academies. Ling Fei recalled seeing them following Shangguan Wan'Er's group into the mountain range.

'I can't believe they all died here,' Ling Fei murmured, his expression grim. 'I wonder how Shangguan Wan'Er is doing now?'

He then extended his senses, scanning the area.

However, he saw no sign of Shangguan Wan'Er.

Nor were Liu Rulong or Wang Zhongtian anywhere to be found.

'There were nineteen people following those three,' Ling Fei mused. 'Now all nineteen are dead, but there's no sign of the original three. Perhaps they've already moved ahead. After all, Shangguan Wan'Er, Liu Rulong, and Wang Zhongtian are all Celestial Spirit Realm experts.'

'Besides, they're all prodigies of their respective clans; they must have methods to save their own lives.'

...

As he moved forward, he periodically extended his senses to probe the situation ahead.

With his Soul Power Transformation, Ling Fei could now detect things over three miles away.

'What's that...?' Suddenly, Ling Fei's pupils contracted. He had spotted something on the hill ahead.

The hill ahead was immense, like a giant entrenched among the mountains.

Rainbow Light Patterns bloomed across its surface, their magnificent radiance casting vibrant colors over the nearby forest.

A long river flowed around the base of the hill.

However, on the face of the hill, a long bridge connected it to the open ground before it.

BANG!

A loud crash echoed out from the edge of the long bridge, where the light of a sword was flashing.

Looking closely, he saw a slender woman in white, long sword in hand, fighting three ferocious, green-furred beasts.

The beasts were shaped like lions but had a single horn, giving them a ferocious and terrifying appearance.

They fought with incredible ferocity, swinging their massive claws as they pounced on the woman in white, completely unafraid of her sharp Sword Qi.

TING!

The sharp Sword Qi, like threads of Sword Silk, struck the Unicorn's body.

But it was met with the crisp sound of impact, as if the Sword Qi had struck solid steel, much to one's surprise.

The beast was completely unharmed by the sharp Sword Qi.

Instead, its massive claw shot out, tearing through the Void as it aimed straight for the woman in white.

A vicious, chilling Evil Qi slashed out from its claws like sharp blades.

HUMMM!

The approaching Evil Qi was enough to make one's head spin.

However, the woman in white wore a Conical Hat.

A light veil hung down from the Conical Hat, shimmering with Light Patterns that formed a protective halo around her. This prevented the vile Evil Qi from touching her, leaving her mind unaffected. It was because of this that she had been able to make it this far.

And this woman was none other than Shangguan Wan'Er.
