After writing for so long, I've developed occupational hazards like nervous exhaustion, insomnia, and tendinitis in my fingers. It's truly not easy. Most importantly, writing a book means working 365 days a year without a break in updates. You could say there's hardly any other profession that demands such diligence and dedication.

Back when you were in school, how long did it take you to write an 800-character composition?

But for a novel, you have to keep the entire story in mind and make sure it stays exciting. It's incredibly difficult.

Of course, I can endure all this hardship because I love to write. My dream is to create a Xuanhuan world that satisfies all of you.

My dream is for the stories I write to become widely known and one day be adapted for the silver screen.

Some people might say, "But won't keeping it free allow more people to discover the book?"

On the surface, that seems to be true.

But if the book is free, how am I supposed to support myself? Without money, how do I pay my electricity and internet bills? What will I eat?

Am I supposed to eat mobile data? [I'd starve to death.]

The world is a realistic place. Without money, you can't get anywhere.

Besides, if a book isn't profitable, it's considered to have no value. The website won't promote it, and so no one will ever know it exists.

Let me give you a simple example.

In 2013, I wrote a book called *Demon Blood Emperor*. I worked on it for six months, but during that time, very few readers were willing to pay to read it. My monthly royalties were only four to five hundred yuan. Even with that, I persisted for half a year. But as time went on, the pressure mounted because, well, the world is a very realistic place.

If you don't have a house, you can't get married. If you don't have money, even your own family will say you're not working a proper job.

That year, the pressure was immense. I couldn't fall asleep until after two in the morning, every single day. The constant insomnia led to a nervous breakdown.

That year, I felt lost. I began to question my life...

In the end, I had no choice but to wrap up *Demon Blood Emperor* at the one-million-character mark.

Later, I wrote a new book, *Undying Martial Venerable*. Those of you who have read it might have noticed that I included some elements from *Demon Blood Emperor*. I did that out of a sense of nostalgia, and to address a lingering regret.

Fortunately, *Undying Martial Venerable* performed very well as soon as it was released, ranking among the top Xuanhuan novels. On QQ Reading alone, it was collected by nearly two million readers, and it garnered seventy million clicks on Migu Reading.

This book saved me. I was on the verge of collapse, but it allowed me to get back on my feet. I could finally write with some peace of mind.

Now, my new book, *Divine Wilderness Dragon Emperor*, is out. So that I can give this story the ending it deserves, I hope you all will be willing to pay to subscribe and allow me to finish this exciting tale.
