Meng Xiaoni was confused by Ni Mengxue’s words. King? Who was he?
However, when he saw color draining from Mo Beichan’s face, his heart skipped a beat. What was going on?

A few people, however, stared at Mo Beichan and started to gossip.

On the way, everyone remained silent, even until they arrived in front of a two-floor villa.
Built from massive, hand-cut blocks of native grey granite and thick slabs of smooth concrete, the villa loomed ahead like a quiet, unbreakable fortress. A heavy, dark timber door with forged iron fixtures marked the entrance.
The villa opened into a spacious, high-ceilinged hall with polished stone floors that echoed their heavy footsteps. Large, thick windows made of heavy, impact-resistant glass framed the view of the base outside, letting in soft daylight.
Even Ni Mengxue couldn’t help but let out a low whistle. The place was... truly luxurious even by the standard of a pre-apocalyptic world.
What had caught her eye the most was the similar structure evident in the nearby villas.
’I would build something like this in my base too.’ She thought.
Mo Beichan gave a quick tour before leaving in a hurry. For some reason, Meng Xiaoni felt even better seeing him so frustrated.
The bad breath stuck in his lungs was finally out!
He turned toward Ni Mengxue, who was making plans, and suddenly found that she had become beautiful. Her skin had become fairer... though he preferred her previous healthy tan.
The acne on her face had vanished, while she seemed more toned and her features had become much more defined...
"Lu Yucai would sleep with me. Meng Xiaoni will be on the ground floor. The rest of you will have to squeeze in." Ni Mengxue’s authoritative voice echoed, making him snap out of his daze.
No one had any problem. The villa had 4 rooms downstairs and 6 rooms upstairs.
When everyone was about to return, Ni Mengxue stopped Valer, extended her hand, and stated calmly, "Give me Aunt Ruo’s ashes."
"Why?" Valer stared at Ni Mengxue with deep indifference. Maybe his hurt and hatred had turned into indifference.
"I want to be near her..." Her voice sounded a little tired.
Valer’s deep voice echoed, "Mengxue, just because I didn’t say much to you, you think I held no grudge against you?"
Ni Mengxue gave an empty smile; her extended hand remained. "Even if you did. You are rational enough to know that it’s only right."
"The right thing would be for her ashes to be with us," Valer stated.
Ni Mengxue didn’t continue to argue, just stared at him. In the end, Valer took out a rosewood box and gave it to Ni Mengxue.
"You are spiteful."
She didn’t reply; instead, she suddenly asked the system. "System, can you check the DNA composition and tell me... if it’s truly Aunt Ruo?"
[Do you have any hair or saliva of hers?]
"I do." Ni Mengxue waved her hand and took out a hairbrush. It hadn’t been long since Ruo Chiwu’s death, so her item hadn’t been disposed of.
Ni Mengxue had sneaked away with her hairbrush and put it in her space.
Once she took the hair and held the box, her heart started to beat rapidly. She had her doubts.

Instead of an air conditioner, she found a strange box, which was most likely the Burning Star base’s invention.

That evening, when everyone was resting, Meng Xiaoni knocked on Ni Mengxue’s door.
"Come in." Her faint voice drifted into her ears.
Meng Xiaoni walked inside and saw Ni Mengxue working on some map while sitting at the table near the window. He walked toward her and asked softly,
