Kicked Out, Flash-Married, and Now He Won't Let Me Go

Chapter 125: Ferris Wheel

Julian’s bold words suddenly made Vivian laugh.

She wondered, "Is this what an overbearing CEO is like?"

In truth, the things girls liked were quite simple. A small, certain happiness—knowing that he took her words to heart and actually acted on them. Julian had just done exactly that. He had helped her fulfill her wish of being able to come here often in the future.

"Okay." Vivian looked at Julian’s face. Seeing his gentle features blend with the dazzling orange-red clouds behind him, she really wanted to kiss him. He truly made her feel exceptionally wonderful.

Perhaps Vivian was staring at Julian a little too blankly. Sensing something unusual, Julian pursed his lips into a smile. His eyes grew even gentler as he asked, "What are you looking at?"

Snapping back to reality, Vivian felt that she had just made a bit of a fool of herself. Embarrassed, she changed the subject. "Nothing.

"It’s just that the sunset behind you is so beautiful. The fiery red sky looks like a brilliant oil painting. Look, Julian."

Julian turned around to look. This time, the golden and orange light shone directly onto him, filling his eyes with a radiant glow. It was so beautiful. Not just the clouds, but him as well.

"Let’s go," Julian suddenly said after watching for a moment.

Before her mind could even process it, Vivian’s body instinctively obeyed. She followed Julian deeper into the film city.

There were still many buildings in the film city. After bypassing the previous area, Vivian spotted a Ferris wheel. It was incredibly tall. Since night was falling, the decorative colored lights on the Ferris wheel lit up right at that moment. Vance Wyatt stood at the entrance next to the ride, smiling like a proper attendant as he waited for Vivian and Julian to approach.

Vivian was a little surprised as she watched the spinning Ferris wheel.

Julian turned to her and said, "Vance told me earlier that the Ferris wheel was completely finished and had passed all inspections without any issues. He also mentioned...

"A lot of girls really like Ferris wheels and find them romantic. I figured since the weather is so nice today, the evening sunset would definitely be beautiful too.

"It was the perfect opportunity to bring you over to take a look. It’s a good way to relax. What do you think?"

Vivian thought it was wonderful. The Ferris wheel here was decorated so beautifully, without a hint of tackiness.

"Thank you, Julian."

"You’re welcome."

Chatting, the two of them boarded the Ferris wheel under Vance’s guidance. As the ride slowly ascended, the buildings that had just been beside them were suddenly beneath their feet. The distant sunset was now fully displayed in Vivian’s line of sight.

"You’re the first guest here." Julian didn’t look at the sunset; his eyes were solely on Vivian. Raising the corners of his lips, he asked softly, "Are you satisfied with it?"

Vivian nodded. She was very satisfied. It was beautiful, and she was incredibly grateful for everything Julian had done.

"Julian, thank you so much," Vivian thanked him again, almost not knowing how to properly express her gratitude.

Up until now, Julian had helped her a lot, but aside from taking care of Grandma Faulkner and keeping her happy, Vivian felt like she hadn’t really done anything to truly help him. She felt a bit regretful. According to their previous contract, they were supposed to get divorced after the matters with the Lowell family were resolved. And now, that day didn’t seem too far off. Vivian sighed silently in her heart.

The fleeting gloom in her eyes was caught by Julian. He asked, "Vivian, what’s wrong?"

"It’s nothing." Vivian shook her head. Not wanting to bring up unhappy thoughts during what should be a joyful moment, she suggested, "Julian, why don’t we ride this a few more times?

"Since I’m the very first guest here, making such a small request shouldn’t be too much to ask, right?"

"Not at all," Julian agreed with a smile. His tone carried a hint of doting indulgence that Vivian could barely detect as he added, "You can ride it as many times as you want."

More than ten minutes later, the sky grew dark. The sunset disappeared beyond the horizon, and Vivian could see the stars and the moon. A crescent moon hung in the sky tonight. What was extremely rare was that with such good weather in Aethelburg, there were an exceptionally large number of stars. It was a truly beautiful night.

Vivian was getting a bit hungry. Glancing down at Vance, who was still waiting in the cold wind, she couldn’t bear it and suggested, "Julian, how about we go get something to eat now?

"I’m hungry."

"Alright, where to?" Julian took out his phone. He was likely sending a message to Vance, telling him to stop the Ferris wheel shortly so they could get off.

"Hmm..." Vivian thought about it but couldn’t come up with a great conclusion. "How about Japanese food? I know a good Japanese restaurant right next to the pet hospital.

"It’s perfect. After we finish eating, I can go back and check on that little white cat again."

The same little white cat she had barely managed to save after persistently performing CPR.

"Okay," Julian agreed without a second thought, as if he would readily accept any request Vivian made.

They drove back into the city. Since it was the evening rush hour, there were more cars leaving the city and fewer entering it, so Vivian and Julian didn’t encounter much traffic before arriving near the pet hospital.

Looking at the familiar signboard at the entrance of the pet hospital, Vivian gave Eleanor Rhodes a call.

"Tanya, I’m back at the pet hospital. I’m right at the entrance. Julian and I are about to go eat. Do you want to come along? I want to get Japanese food, the one next door with the really good sea urchin! They have botan shrimp too."

"Uh..."

Inside the pet hospital, Eleanor glanced at the takeout food in her hand, then looked with some hesitation toward Julian in the car outside. They were quite far apart, and the car windows were in the way. She shouldn’t have been able to see the expression on Julian’s face at this moment, but she could somehow feel it.

Julian, that petty guy who was totally whipped for his wife, would definitely not want her there!

"Hmm, I think I’ll pass." Eleanor was utterly devastated. She really loved the grilled beef tongue at that Japanese restaurant. It was such a pity that she couldn’t go. She added, "Caleb and I just got back from catching cats, so we probably won’t be able to make it in time.

"You guys go ahead first, alright?"

Vivian felt a bit disappointed.

Without her noticing, the expression on Julian’s face beside her indeed softened slightly. High-end Japanese restaurants generally had a great ambiance. Having this rare opportunity to eat alone with Vivian, Julian naturally wasn’t keen on two extra people joining them.

As for Vance, who was driving? He could just find a random street stall to eat at later. As for Japanese food... well, if he was willing to find a spot in the main dining hall and eat quietly by himself, that was fine too. As long as he didn’t barge into the private room and disturb Vivian and him, Julian would still allow it.
