Kicked Out, Flash-Married, and Now He Won't Let Me Go

Chapter 123: Vivian Lowell Sues

When Vivian Lowell arrived at the pet hospital, Eleanor Rhodes had just finished gathering her equipment and was about to head out to catch cats.

"Vivian."

"Tanya!"

The two best friends met at the entrance of the pet hospital. Eleanor was overjoyed, putting down her things to give Vivian a hug.

"Tanya, I mainly came today to check on the little kitten we rescued and brought to the hospital last night."

"I also had Ms. Shaw prepare some raw meat. I’m planning to feed it to the mother cat to help her build up her strength, and give some to the kittens waiting for adoption at our hospital as a treat, too."

Vivian was carrying a huge bag; it must have held over twenty pounds of meat.

She’d mentioned it to Ms. Shaw last night, and Ms. Shaw had gotten up bright and early this morning to prepare it. She’d really gone to a lot of trouble.

"So much?"

Eleanor had noticed the large bag Vivian was carrying when she arrived.

She never expected it to be filled with raw meat.

This was so extravagant!

"Mhm."

Vivian gave Eleanor a sweet, slightly sheepish smile. "As a shareholder in the pet hospital, I’m not here most of the time. I just help you catch cats once in a while."

"So it’s only right that I put more effort into their feeding. By the way, a few cat food companies have contacted me. They want to advertise with us and in return, they’ll provide us with some cat food every month."

"I just haven’t had a chance to check if their cat food is any good yet."

Hearing this, Eleanor gave it some serious thought. She looked over at Caleb Quinn, patted his shoulder, and said, "In that case, Junior Quinn, I’ll leave this to you. How about it?"

Caleb Quinn nodded.

Vivian was relieved. "So, are you two going to catch cats now? I can help clean up around the hospital in the meantime."

"If more clients show up later, I can help you at the front desk. How does that sound?"

"Okay," Eleanor agreed, motioning for Caleb Quinn to head out with her to catch the cats.

Inside the pet hospital.

The place was as busy as ever, and the front desk was swamped. Most of the clients were self-sufficient, though. Some of them were even people who had heard about Vivian and Eleanor’s rescue efforts.

They had come to the pet hospital to see the photos of rescued kittens that Vivian and Eleanor had posted on the wall and to check in on social media.

Vivian went straight to see the little white kitten.

The little white kitten was snuggled up asleep in the orange cat’s arms. ’Compared to yesterday... uh, it doesn’t look like it’s grown at all.’

"Meow."

The orange cat saw Vivian arrive. It seemed to recognize her, standing up and walking over to the door of the cage.

Vivian took out the raw meat and filled a large bowl with it.

The large bowl of raw meat was incredibly enticing. Not only the orange cat but also her four kittens came over.

The orange cat’s kittens were all over a month old, so they could eat some raw meat. The large bowl was completely devoured in just a few minutes.

As for the little white kitten, while the orange cat was eating, Vivian picked it up and held it in her hands. The kitten was sleeping soundly.

Its little belly was full and round.

’Looks like it’s eaten its fill, too.’

Vivian felt much more at ease.

’She had been worried that if the orange cat refused to nurse the little white kitten, or if her milk wasn’t enough, she’d have to bottle-feed it herself. Now she didn’t have to worry so much.’

"Grow up big and strong, okay?"

Vivian smoothed the little white kitten’s fur, gave the orange cat an affectionate pat on the head, and then closed the cage door. After that, she started scooping the litter boxes for the cats in the ward.

An hour passed in a flurry of activity.

Vivian was a little tired, so she went to the main lobby to rest.

It was still crowded.

Most people were there for vet appointments, holding their cats, but even more were there for spaying or neutering. This was because Eleanor had previously given out a number of free appointment slots, and even after they were all claimed, she was still offering a 30% discount.

Vivian helped out at the front desk for a while.

Before long, Eleanor and Caleb Quinn returned.

They returned with three kittens and their mother, a calico. The mother cat had given birth inside a ventilation shaft, and it was a considerable drop from the opening to the ground inside.

Luckily, Caleb Quinn had great stamina. Using a cat-catching pole, he managed to retrieve all three kittens in just over an hour.

"Not bad at all, Caleb."

Eleanor was, of course, praising Caleb.

After all, in the past, when Vivian and Eleanor went out on a rescue, they would often spend an entire morning or afternoon—two or three hours—and still come back empty-handed.

Those little kittens might look small and seem easy to catch, but they were actually very wary and agile. It wasn’t nearly as easy as it looked.

You had to outsmart them and find the perfect moment, aiming to succeed on the first try.

Otherwise, if you failed and the kitten grew wary, the entire day’s preparations could be for nothing.

’It’s just like life.’

’For some things, if you’re only given one chance, you have to be completely prepared.’

Vivian stayed at the pet hospital all morning. She had already arranged for Julian Faulkner to pick her up at noon to work on the lawsuit against the Lowell Family.

The sun climbed higher in the sky.

Vivian was getting a little hungry, so she started discussing lunch plans with Eleanor and Caleb Quinn.

"I want fried chicken!"

Eleanor had a wistful look on her face.

’This morning was so tiring,’ she thought. ’I need to eat lots of meat to get my energy back!’

Hearing this, Caleb Quinn frowned from the side. "Why eat something so unhealthy again? Your shoulder wound hasn’t even fully healed yet. Can’t we have it next time?"

Eleanor refused.

Recently, a certain fried chicken chain had released a combo meal, and the toy that came with it was a Cinnamoroll, which she adored. She really, really wanted to get it.

’Today is the perfect opportunity, how can I just let it pass?’

"Caleb, pleeease~ Let’s just have fried chicken for lunch today! I’ll eat less, I promise. How about that?"

Eleanor tugged on Caleb’s sleeve, her voice softening.

Caleb was completely helpless against Eleanor. He sighed and nodded.

"Alright, fine. But we have a deal. Just a little bit."

As they were talking, a dark figure stepped through the entrance of the pet hospital.

He was wearing a suit, which made him look slightly out of place, and he had a powerful presence. Vivian tilted her head and recognized him instantly. It was Julian Faulkner.

"I’m over here."

Vivian called out.

Julian looked over and handed the briefcase he was carrying to Vivian. "The legal team has drafted the complaint," he said.

"See what you think. I’ve also sent a digital copy to your email."

"Okay!"

Vivian nodded and opened the folder to look at the documents.

This was the lawsuit against the Lowell Family.

She was almost one hundred percent certain.

’After this, the Lowell Family will be utterly destroyed!’

’And at that point, her revenge would be complete.’
