Chapter 813: Aftermath (2)
“...I don’t know if they came here to shop or to rummage through trash cans like scavengers.”
“This is really creepy. The windows are all broken...and there’s no light.”
“Gucci, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Moncler...I’ve heard those names before. I wonder if there’s anything left.”
“Be careful. There might be unexploded white phosphorus fragments left behind.”
Conrad Hotel, Washington, D.C., 11:00 AM.
A mere 1km east of the White House, inside a half-burned-out former five-star hotel, several people enter the luxury goods section. However, none of them had a wallet or credit card.
In the first place, no one would accept such a thing even if they had offered it.
A strange sound was heard as the glass shards shattered under the step of military boots. The dozen or so operators crossed the broken turnstiles into the lobby, and the Dagger team leisurely looked around the interior.
It was quiet.
No other words were needed.
"The interior is cleaner than I thought. I thought it would be a terribly messy place if it was a luxury store."
"That would be the correct answer, but there probably weren't many people stealing things here. Two years ago, the Capitol was destroyed and the president was forced to flee, an unprecedented situation."
