Three Systems Made the Fake Heiress Unstoppable

Chapter 182: Chloe York’s Shopping Spree

After she finished speaking, Chloe York turned and walked away. She hoped that after making things clear this time, Adrian Kane would stop coming to look for her. It wasn’t like she could tell him that she was staying away from him because he was on the female lead’s side and would end up hurting her.

Adrian watched Chloe’s receding figure, a deep sense of powerlessness washing over him. He stood there until she disappeared from view before finally turning to leave the school. However, his retreating silhouette looked somewhat lonely.

Six days of squats later, the task was completed. The Physical System rewarded Chloe with a limitless alcohol tolerance.

"Host, I won’t be appearing for a while, as there aren’t many tasks left for you to complete," the Physical System announced.

"So, you’re about to leave too?" Chloe asked.

"Host, all good things must come to an end," the Physical System replied. "But don’t be sad; I haven’t left just yet. There might be two or three tasks left later on. During this time, let the Godly Rich System, Dottie, give you tasks to help you reach the billionaire rank as soon as possible."

"Physical System, I’m so touched that you’re thinking of me like this," Dottie, the Godly Rich System, chimed in.

"No need to be touched! It’s the least I can do," the Physical System said.

"Don’t worry, Host," Dottie added. "I’ll do my best to elevate you to the wealthy tier quickly."

"Alright!"

With one system after another preparing to leave, Chloe felt a bit down. She had often read online that the best cure for a bad mood was a shopping spree. So, she decided to head out and buy whatever her heart desired.

Now that she was wealthy, she naturally wouldn’t visit cheap stores anymore. Realizing she had never been to a designer boutique, she resolved to go to one today no matter what. She took a cab straight to the commercial district and headed up to the second floor of the mall, which was almost entirely occupied by luxury brand stores.

The moment she stepped into one of the boutiques, before she could even get a good look at the clothes, she heard the deliberately lowered yet clearly audible whispers of the sales assistants behind her.

"Another student, huh? Look at what she’s wearing. She’s probably just here to check the price tags."

"Tell me about it. Last time, a girl tried on a coat, and when she asked the price, all the color drained from her face. She complained it was too expensive and slinked away."

"Let’s hope today isn’t a repeat of that. It just wastes our time when we could be serving real customers."

Chloe stopped in her tracks and glanced back at the two women in matching uniforms. Their eyes were brimming with disdain. One of them, a younger woman, was wiping down a counter with her head bowed and her lips curled in a sneer, clearly not taking Chloe seriously.

Chloe had heard rumors that luxury store employees would judge customers based on their outfits, and today she was finally experiencing it firsthand.

In her past life, she might have nervously clutched the hem of her shirt and quickly found an excuse to leave. Back then, she loved saving money and barely spent a dime, too frugal to splurge on anything—let alone luxury brands. But now, her fingers brushed against the phone in her pocket, and a stubborn sense of defiance flared up in her chest. She was incredibly rich now and owned numerous pieces of priceless jewelry. Why should she be afraid she couldn’t afford a few designer clothes?

"I’d like to try on this coat." Chloe walked over to the racks and pointed at a camel-colored coat hanging in the most prominent display area, her voice perfectly calm.

The two sales assistants exchanged a glance before the older one ambled over. She grabbed the coat and handed it to her, her tone thick with perfunctory dismissiveness. "This is a new arrival, size medium. The fitting rooms are over there. Be careful not to dirty it. It’s not on sale."

She deliberately emphasized the words "not on sale." The underlying message in her eyes was crystal clear: You can’t afford it, so don’t waste my time. If you stain it, you won’t be able to pay for it either.

Chloe didn’t say a word. She took the coat and walked straight into the fitting room. Shedding her hoodie, she slipped the coat on and buttoned it up in front of the mirror. The fabric was a top-tier wool blend, structured yet incredibly soft against her skin. It fell right to her knees, adding a commanding aura to her otherwise slender frame.

She adjusted the collar in the mirror. "This outfit was tailor-made for me," she thought.

When she stepped out of the fitting room, the expressions on the two sales assistants’ faces noticeably shifted. Chloe already had a naturally elegant temperament, but the coat added a touch of cold sophistication to her usual softness. It was as if she had instantly been elevated to a whole new tier.

"I’ll try on this dress too," Chloe said, pointing at a black velvet dress nearby. Her tone remained as flat as before.

This time, the younger assistant hurried over of her own accord. The contempt on her face had diminished, replaced by a hint of nervousness. "Right away, miss. This is our best-seller this year, and we have all sizes in stock. It will definitely look gorgeous on you."

Chloe tried on the dress, followed by a pair of stiletto heels. Once the entire outfit was put together, even she was slightly stunned as she looked at herself in the mirror. The person staring back at her had shed all the greenness of a student, transforming into a chic, poised urbanite. There wasn’t a trace of a "broke student" left in her.

She loved all of them. She would take the lot.

"Wrap them all up." Chloe picked up her phone and jerked her chin toward the cash register.

The two assistants froze. The older woman’s perfunctory attitude instantly dissolved into a fawning smile. She practically sprinted to the register. "Yes, of course! Please wait a moment; I’ll ring you up right away!"

The younger assistant was bustling about even more eagerly, carrying the coat and the bags for her. Her voice dripped with sudden warmth. "You have such great taste, miss! Both the coat and the dress are incredibly popular right now. A lot of celebrities wear this exact style!"

Chloe ignored her and sat down by the counter. They had been looking down their noses at her just moments ago, and now they were treating her like royalty.

"They really do judge a book by its cover!" she thought mockingly.

As the cashier scanned the items, she read out the prices. "The coat is twelve thousand eight hundred, the dress is five thousand six hundred, and the heels are three thousand eight hundred. That brings the total to twenty-two thousand two hundred yuan."

The assistants nearby held their breath, watching Chloe with expectant and nervous gazes. After all, spending over twenty grand wasn’t astronomical for a luxury boutique, but it was absolutely staggering for someone who looked like a mere student. They were eager to see if she could actually foot the bill. If not, this innocent college girl would likely have to sell herself to afford it.

Chloe pulled up the payment interface on her phone. With a light tap of her finger on the screen, a notification chime immediately rang out.

"BEEP! Payment successful!"

In that instant, the atmosphere in the store completely shifted. The smiles on the faces of the two assistants who had scorned her grew even more obsequious. They rushed forward to package the clothes, taking special care to use premium dust bags and elegant gift boxes.

"You are so decisive, miss! Here is your receipt and your boxes. Please carry them safely!" the older assistant said, handing the bags over with both hands, her tone bordering on reverent.

The younger one sidled up with a bright smile. "Miss, we’ll be receiving a new batch of designer bags next week. If you’re interested, you can come take a look. I’ll make sure to save some for you!" Seeing how freely Chloe spent her money, the young assistant recognized her as a prime target for repeat sales and hastily tried to secure her next visit.
