Three Systems Made the Fake Heiress Unstoppable

Chapter 126: Holding a College Entrance Banquet

The day of the college entrance party was also the day the exam scores were to be released. Miles York came to pick up Chloe York personally.

"What are you doing here?" Chloe York didn’t understand why Miles York had suddenly shown up. She had been planning to stay cooped up at home and wait to check her scores.

Realizing there was nothing to eat at home, she had stepped out to buy some food, only to unexpectedly run into Miles York. It was obvious he was there looking for her.

"Chloe, the scores come out today, right?" Miles York said, looking at Chloe York with an ingratiating smile. He didn’t bother with pleasantries and cut straight to the chase.

"Yeah."

"Dad booked a banquet hall at The Zenith Hotel in your name for a college entrance party. So, I’m here to take you there now." Miles York stated his purpose clearly.

’In my name?’ Chloe York hadn’t expected that. She figured if Miles York was really going to throw a college entrance party, he would have done it in his own name, not hers.

So, for him to say it was in her name was difficult to believe.

"That’s right."

With Miles York’s confirmation, she was willing to go, so long as it was in her name. If it had been in both her and Brooke York’s name, she would have refused. ’Still, isn’t this too soon for a party? Shouldn’t we wait for the scores?’

"The scores aren’t even out yet! Isn’t it a bit early for this?"

"It doesn’t matter that the scores aren’t out. You’re definitely getting into a university. As long as you get in, no matter which one, we can still call it a college entrance party, right?"

’Besides,’ he thought, ’I’ve already arranged for which executives will be there. They’re all set. Today’s the day they’re all available. If I reschedule, I can’t guarantee everyone will be able to make it.’

"Alright then, I’ll go," Chloe agreed.

"Great!"

Miles York immediately had the makeup artist and the assistant carrying the gown follow him into Chloe’s home.

He figured that if Chloe agreed, they could just do her hair and makeup at her place. That way, it wouldn’t matter if they arrived a bit late.

If they had gone to the venue from the start to get ready, he was worried Alice Cole and Brooke York might try to pull something.

After all, he hadn’t arranged a makeup artist for Brooke York and her mother. They had to hire their own.

After being styled, Chloe was so radiant she could hardly believe the person in the mirror was her. She had always known she was beautiful, and that the original owner of this body was just as pretty. In fact, the "original Chloe," whose beauty had been meticulously cultivated with money since childhood, was even a little more striking than her own original appearance.

But she had never experienced anything like this before—the evening gown, the exquisite makeup, the elaborate hairstyle.

Seeing the transformed Chloe, Miles York’s eyes lit up. It wasn’t that he had never seen her dressed up like this.

But back then, she had been younger and had a more flighty personality. Now, it seemed Chloe wasn’t just attractive; paired with her current aura, she was genuinely charming.

’No wonder Sophia Quinn likes her so much,’ Miles York thought. ’When it’s time for Chloe to get married, I can’t just pick someone at random. I’ll have to be more careful and find her a good match. A better marriage will bring more benefits to my company.’

"Let’s go, Chloe!"

"Okay."

She got into the car with Miles York, and they headed for the hotel where the party was being held.

"Mom, is this the latest design?" Brooke York asked, looking down at her pink dress. The color made her look delicate and youthful, like a princess.

"Of course it’s the latest design. I’m going to make sure you’re so beautiful tonight that you’re the star of the show. I absolutely will not let Chloe York steal your spotlight."

"What color gown is she wearing tonight?"

"I don’t know. Your father prepared it for her. Oh, but it doesn’t matter what color gown she wears, she won’t be as beautiful as you, Brooke. You look like an elegant and beautiful princess right now."

Hearing Alice Cole’s praise, Brooke also looked at her reflection. ’Who could tell just by looking at me now,’ she thought, ’that only a year ago, I was a poor girl from the countryside who couldn’t even afford a simple dress?’

And now, here she was, wearing an expensive, new-season dress.

"Mom, we’re ready, right? Let’s go!" Brooke was already impatient to get to the party.

"Don’t be in a hurry. The beautiful and distinguished always arrive last. Only the unimportant people show up early. You need to make your entrance at the very end."

"Oh, I see."

"That’s right! Don’t worry, leave it to Mom."

Brooke York nodded, looking at her reflection again. ’Oh, Chloe York,’ she thought with a smirk. ’We’ll just see who the real star of the show is tonight.’

The party was held at a five-star hotel. Miles York had specially booked an entire floor and even placed photos of Chloe at the entrance to make it clear to everyone that this was *her* celebration.

"We’re here, Chloe!"

After getting out of the car, she followed Miles York into the banquet hall. The room was already bustling with guests, all dressed in suits and evening gowns.

Waitstaff in formal uniforms moved among them, promptly refilling drinks. If you didn’t know this was a college entrance party, you might have mistaken it for a corporate gala.

The moment the pair arrived and the guests saw Chloe, many eyes in the room lit up.

The silvery-white evening gown she wore perfectly accentuated her stunning figure. Her long, wavy, waist-length hair was swept up into a casual bun, and a faint, easy smile played on her lips.

She looked like a noble queen, surveying the crowd beneath her.

’How can a girl who just finished high school and is about to start college have such a powerful presence?’

The two of them stood at the front of the room. "Thank you all for coming to my daughter’s college entrance party," Miles York began. "I’m a very happy man today. As parents, all we ever want is for our children to do well. The scores will be released later this evening, at which point we’ll check them live right here. For now, please eat, drink, and enjoy yourselves. If my hospitality is lacking in any way, I hope you’ll forgive me."

When Miles York finished, the room erupted in applause. After it died down, he glanced at Chloe, who took the microphone. "Thank you all for coming to my celebration."

She knew one sentence was enough. With the scores not yet released, anything more would sound like arrogance.

After they stepped down from the small stage, guests began to approach them one after another.

"Mr. York, my, your daughter has grown into such a graceful young woman!"

"Haha, you’re too kind, Mr. Hale."

"Ah, Mr. York, your hard work is really paying off! Not only is your company thriving, but now your daughter is off to university. It’s one happy occasion after another!"

The high heels were starting to feel uncomfortable. "I’m going to find a place to sit," Chloe said.

"Alright. There’s a lounge area over there," Miles York said, pointing her in the right direction.

As Miles York and Mr. Hale continued their conversation, another executive approached them.

"Mr. York, the scores aren’t even out yet," the man said. "Isn’t it a bit premature to be holding the celebration?"
