Chapter 124: Ten SSS-Ranks
’A month? No way.’
Asher took a deep breath, and exhaled; shutting down the system for a month with so many wolves around him and his wives... That’s nothing but suicidal.
’Once I get to the point that even the Ancient families won’t be a threat, then I can do this... The system’s words prove me right, there is something controlling everything from the dark; I just don’t know what this thing purpose is. For now, it’s not hostile, so I should use this opportunity and grow.’
Asher wasn’t planning on fighting something he has no information about, which could most lightly be a god, right now, he only plan to keep growing stronger, while also paying heeds to the Knife on his neck.
The Awakened system.
He looked up at Marianne: "Alright, do you know anything about Doomsday Dungeon?" He asked.
"Doomsday Dungeon..." Marianne turned to Sara:
"I think your wife will know more about this... Back then, I was in secluded cultivation, so I know little about this dungeon... What I know is, it has a strange type of stone; I don’t know the use." She said with a shrugged.
Asher slowly nodded his head, and turned to Sara; who turned to Juliana.
"Huh?"
Juliana was stunned, staring at Sara in disbelief. Everyone stared at them, confused.
"Um... I heard about your wives’... Situations. How--"
"--Juliana is healed, Sara could hear." Asher cut her off, his gaze cold.
"Oh." Marianne slowly nodded her head, staying quiet.
’Healed? How? Is Asher this efficient? Already cured one of his wives, and the second could now hear. That’s impressive.’ She thought, staring at him.
Revealing Juliana was cured saved him the trouble for explaining, which will definitely leads to the fragments, Asher doesn’t have the time to reveal so many things to Marianne, even if they already signed a pack.
After what seems like a whole two minutes of silent communication, Juliana finally turned to the group:
"Well, Sara knows nothing about any stone, because they were only sent to clear the Monsters on Doomsday Island... Anyway, she discovered something strange on that island. The monsters there aren’t the usual type, mindless creatures I mean, each one of them has intelligence, and the weakest there is S-Rank. Also, they seem to be defending the gateway."
"Defending the gateway? I thought once a dungeon opened, and freed all the monsters, it will close up?" Asher asked, a bit lost. The conventional laws of the Awakened era dictated that a rift expended its energy upon fully opening, then what’s happening with that dungeon?
"Yes, that’s what we all believe." Marianne nodded her head.
"I know, but that gateway hasn’t closed to this moment. Oh, Sara also said the Island is surrounded by a formation, once you enter, your stats will be reduced by 20%." Juliana narrated.
"Then it’s better to leave this to the Ancient families... I don’t fear death, but I also don’t want to throw my life away." Marianne muttered in a low voice, while everyone in the room nodded their heads.
’I don’t care about all this, I will still enter that island first and get what I am after.’
BAM!
The main door opened, and a guard rushed inside, stopping before Asher:
"Boss!!! Countless Cars are outside! More than 10 Cars!" He reported in shock.
"Oh, that must be Grayson... Go and let him inside." Asher stood up from the couch.
"Yes, Boss!" The guard nodded, and rushed outside.
"Grayson? You mean the same Grayson in those files?" Marianne asked, staring at him in disbelief.
"Correct... He is now one of my workers. Anyway." He stretched his hand towards Juliana, and Sara.
The two stared at his hand, then took it, as he helped them to their feet. Without another word, Asher led the two out of the house.
"....?!"
Marianne stared at them, then turned to Kelly, who was busy stuffing her face with fries. The scent of the food held Kelly’s complete attention, not a bit bothered about the three or whatever they had been saying from the very start.
’Still a strange family.’ She thought.
___
VOOM!
Asher, Sara, Juliana, Tang, Marianne, and her vice Guild Leader all stood before the grand entrance of the mansion, watching as high-end armored cars drove inside the wide area, heavy tires crunching over the pristine gravel, stopping some distance before them.
The doors of the ten cars opened, and ten figures got down, all dressed in Black. These were the true apex predators of the city’s underbelly—the fighters who ruled the shadows. Grayson quickly got down from the first car, and rushed towards Asher:
"Good Morning, Boss!!" He yelled.
Asher acknowledged his greetings with a nod, staring at the ten people standing some distance away. They radiated distinct, bloody auras of seasoned Awakened fighters.
"So that’s the new Boss?" A lady with gray hair, and a scar on her right cheek asked, resting her back on her reinforced jeep.
"It looks like it." The dark skin muscular man sitting on the hood of his Audi added, his heavy aura pulsing with energy.
"Argh, what a bother... I should be dealing with some chicks right now." The young guy standing before his car said with a deep frown, his arms tucked away in his pockets.
"We are here because Grayson said he is no longer our Boss, and there is a new Boss... I thought it was someone strong, but it’s only a kid who isn’t even in his late twenties." A man with an eye patch on his left eye said under his breath, his arms crossed on his chest.
"Fufufu! We won’t know if we don’t ask him." A lady with messy green hair, sitting on her car roof with a dagger in hand said with a smirk, her eyes fixed on the women with Asher.
"I love the ladies around him." She added, licking her lips.
"Alright, all of you should be quiet. Here he comes." The tallest man in their group, standing seven feet tall, with huge muscles, and bald; said, removing the dark eyeglasses on his face, revealing two red eyes that glowed with a dormant energy.
"Let’s hear him out." He added.
