Humanity Is Gone, but I Have Billions of Clones

Chapter 151 - 150: Doomsday

In the Earth theater of war, Li Qingsong clearly saw the changes in the Blutuk Fleet.

He saw that large-scale engagements were becoming less frequent. The Blutuk Fleet had begun a full-scale rally and refit, and at the same time, supply shipments from Venus were on the rise.

The number of reconnaissance satellites began to grow, as did probes of all kinds. The quantity of unmanned combat equipment was also increasing.

All of this clearly and unmistakably indicated one thing.

The Blutuk Fleet was planning an offensive of unprecedented scale—the largest yet.

Analyzing the overall situation, Li Qingsong immediately understood what was happening.

’It looks like things on Venus have become untenable. They’re making a desperate, last-ditch move...’

Li Qingsong felt no mockery toward the Blutuk People; instead, his heart was heavy.

A battle for survival on the brink of annihilation, a do-or-die final blow—that was the most ferocious and most fatal kind of attack.

’If they lose this battle, the Blutuk Civilization will be annihilated! Under these circumstances, how could they not give it their all?’

’I have to repel this assault! If I win this time, it will be a true, absolute victory!’

While the Blutuk Fleet prepared with feverish intensity, Li Qingsong dared not let his guard down, and he too prepared with all his might.

Countless Interstellar Mines were deployed into space, one backup Supercomputing Base after another was completed, and vast numbers of Unmanned Warships, unmanned Cannon Platforms, and Interstellar Missiles were readied...

The clouds of war gathered over Earth. The great battle was imminent.

Time trickled by in an atmosphere so tense it was nearly suffocating.

At that moment on Venus, beneath the thick cloud layer, an extremely common event was taking place—one that had already occurred countless times.

A product of Venus’s complex climate, a perfectly ordinary acid rain was falling.

An endless torrent of sulfuric acid rained from the sky, pelting the scorching, lava-strewn ground and the countless building complexes that dotted the landscape.

Amidst this perfectly ordinary acid rain, another perfectly ordinary event occurred.

Due to the increasingly harsh environment on Venus, one factory, battered by the relentless, driving rain, lost its hermetic seal. Venus’s crushing atmosphere immediately rushed inside, triggering a chain of explosions.

Approximately one thousand square meters of the factory were destroyed. Dozens of Blutuk People died instantly, and over a thousand were injured.

In years past, even before Human Civilization began adding water to Venus, incidents like this had happened many times.

The people had long since grown accustomed to it.

But perhaps due to some subtle, unseen shift, this utterly ordinary event triggered a chain of events that no one could have possibly anticipated.

Instead of staying in the hospital to recover, the injured, driven by panic, joined a group of eyewitnesses and rushed desperately toward the space elevator base. They broke through the staff’s barricades and stormed the cable cars, determined to escape Venus—this world that had become a Purgatory—and flee into space at any cost.

Normally, this would have been just a minor, isolated incident, nothing of consequence.

But this time, for some unknown reason, more people were swept up in the panic. They too began scrambling for seats on the space elevator cars, as if this were the very last transport, as if missing it meant they would never be able to leave Venus.

The chaos that erupted at Space Elevator 78 spread rapidly, engulfing the entire planet in just a few hours.

The entire population of over ninety billion working on Venus descended into chaos.

For nearly a decade, the environment on Venus had been steadily deteriorating, with no signs of improvement.

At this moment, years of pent-up repression and fear finally shattered the people’s spirit.

In that instant, it didn’t matter where they were—in factories or mines, plantations or hospitals, shopping malls or schools—everyone began using any means they could think of to desperately reach the space elevator bases.

Some people, unable to find a seat on a train, even donned Space Suits and began trekking across Venus’s lava-strewn surface toward the space elevator bases on foot.

Throughout the city complexes, there was nothing but screams and brawls. Everyone’s eyes were bloodshot as they fought desperately over the few remaining train seats.

But even for those who made it to the space elevator base, a second struggle awaited.

Even if they managed to secure a seat on a car, they had to defend it from the attacks of others!

Chaos. It was all chaos. Total chaos.

This planet-wide chaos, which now engulfed the entire civilization, was immediately reported to Heirwe Supreme Leader.

Heirwe acted decisively, immediately initiating another civilization-wide broadcast.

His image appeared on every screen. His voice hoarse with emotion, he earnestly pleaded with the people to calm down, to return to their posts, to stop the chaos and the fighting.

He assured them again and again that the final offensive was about to begin, that the second planet would soon be in their grasp, and that their situation would soon improve.

In the past, his personal prestige would have been enough to quell the chaos quickly.

But this time, it was no use.

Even as he grew so distraught that tears streamed down his face, no one was listening to his words anymore.

The chaos, far from being contained, only intensified.

Finally, in the structure built deep within a canyon, Heirwe Supreme Leader abandoned all attempts to stop it.

He sat before a massive floor-to-ceiling window, gazing out at Venus’s lava-strewn landscape, the heavy clouds, and the furious acid rain, stunned into silence.

He saw countless ships, large and small, lurching into the sky in forced, premature takeoffs. They didn’t get far before exploding, incinerated by Venus’s thick, searing atmosphere.

Other ships managed to take off, only to be shot down by rocket fire from the ground.

He saw countless vehicles careening recklessly through the network of transport tubes, causing massive pile-ups. He saw tubes collapse, burying untold numbers in a fiery Purgatory.

He saw throngs of people in Space Suits leaving the bases, walking out onto the lava fields of Venus, only to collapse in droves like harvested grain. He saw the main cable of the sky-piercing space elevator, attacked in a vent of fury by those who couldn’t get a seat, come crashing down and slam into the planet’s surface.

The end had come.

Thanks to their enemy’s decade of unwavering persistence in adding water to Venus, the end of the Blutuk Civilization had arrived.

Heirwe Supreme Leader heard the room begin to groan and creak, as if it was buckling under the immense pressure of Venus’s atmosphere.

Clearly, parts of the Supreme Leader’s Mansion were beginning to fail.

"Supreme Leader, you must leave immediately..."

Heirwe Supreme Leader waved his hand dismissively and made no move to leave.

An hour later, the Supreme Leader’s Mansion collapsed with a thunderous roar, melting into the Venusian landscape.
