Humanity Is Gone, but I Have Billions of Clones

These plastic containers made by Li Qingsong had practically no defensive capabilities of their own.

Forget an Electromagnetic Cannon Projectile; even a dagger could pierce them.

They merely served to pressurize the water inside, reducing losses.

Now, a minor offensive from the Blutuk People burst tens of thousands of these water spheres, spilling tens of millions of tons of water into space.

During their previous journey through space, they hadn’t frozen despite the low temperatures, but had remained in a liquid state.

This was because the Sun was constantly heating them.

This even raised their temperature above 100 degrees Celsius. Like boiling water inside a pressure cooker, they were under immense pressure.

The moment a plastic sphere ruptured, this extremely hot water instantly exploded outward.

There is no pressure in a vacuum. Therefore, nothing could stop the water from dispersing.

It rapidly thinned out, first becoming a cloud of water vapor.

But even as a cloud of water vapor, the internal pressure was still too great. So, it continued to expand, eventually breaking down into its most basic structure.

Water molecules.

Only then was the internal pressure of that mass of water finally released.

One molecular cloud after another appeared in this region of space.

Previously, their volume was only a few thousand cubic meters. Now, it was well over thousands of cubic kilometers—an increase in volume of more than ten million times.

But it was important to remember that even after transforming from liquid water into molecular clouds, their kinetic energy remained. At most, it would decrease slightly due to the Sun’s radiation pressure, but the overall effect was minimal.

Thus, what had previously been flying toward Venus as spheres of water was now flying toward it as molecular clouds. The target remained unchanged, and even their trajectory and velocity had barely shifted.

So... how could they be intercepted?

Could people on Earth devise a way to intercept a cloud?

These molecular clouds in space were now countless times less dense and countless times larger in volume than a cloud on Earth. Could the Blutuk People possibly find a way to intercept them?

Humans couldn’t intercept clouds, and the Blutuk couldn’t intercept molecular clouds of water.

They rushed toward Venus, practically unstoppable.

Soon, the Blutuk People noticed this change.

While still dedicating some of their forces to destroying the water spheres—which, though not very effective, was better than nothing and could at least cause some water loss—the bulk of the Blutuk Fleet charged toward Earth.

There was no point in just treating the symptoms; they had to cure the disease. Only by destroying the space elevators built on Earth could they completely eliminate the possibility of their enemy sending water to Venus!

The Blutuk People’s reaction was exactly what Li Qingsong had expected.

Li Qingsong had long since amassed sufficient defensive forces around Earth.

In fact, it could be said that Li Qingsong had concentrated 99% of his entire strength around Earth, dedicated to protecting those space elevators!

He wasn’t worried about leaving the other planets defenseless.

The reason was simple: the other planets also had Clones and Warships, he just wasn’t maintaining a conscious link with them. If another planet came under attack, he could simply transfer his consciousness there.

And so, centered around Earth and its one thousand space elevators, a furious planetary assault and defense battle began once more.

After several years of silence, a battle in which both sides went all-out erupted once again.

Countless Warships, both manned and unmanned, along with innumerable Interstellar Mines, Interstellar Missiles, and Cannon Platforms, unleashed their power wantonly.

Every single second, tens of billions of Electromagnetic Cannon Projectiles flew through this region of space.

Aside from those that hit their targets or flew off into deep space, many more projectiles struck Earth.

This was where the benefit of having an atmosphere became apparent.

No matter what material the Electromagnetic Cannon Projectiles were made of, how fast they flew, or how lethal they were, the moment they entered the atmosphere, they were immediately intercepted by the dense gases.

Through friction with the gas, intense heat was generated until the projectile was completely melted, becoming part of the atmosphere itself.

The faster the Electromagnetic Cannon Projectile, the faster its destruction.

And so, from the surface, the sky filled with a dense shower of meteors, more concentrated than any meteor shower since the birth of the planet.

Across the entire Earth—from the South Pole to the North Pole, over continents and oceans, through day and night—this violent meteor shower rained down without a moment’s pause.

The entire sky, the entire Cosmos, was blanketed by this furious meteor shower.

Earth’s atmosphere acted like an unbreakable shield, blocking all external attacks.

By the same token, Electromagnetic Cannons, laser beams, and the like from within Earth could not penetrate the atmospheric defenses to reach space.

Only specially designed, slower-moving shells or projectiles with specific aerodynamics could break through the atmospheric barrier.

But this created another problem: since they were slower, they were also easier to intercept and destroy, meaning they wouldn’t even get the chance to enter the atmosphere.

Therefore, when facing a planet with an atmosphere, both attackers and defenders had a tacit understanding.

They wouldn’t attack the planet itself, but would fight for control directly in space.

Once space superiority was achieved, there would be all the time in the world to deal with the planet. Without it, conquering the planet was impossible.

All the projectiles currently flying toward Earth were merely stray shots, not intentionally aimed at the planet.

But even these stray shots were enough to create a spectacle unseen in all of Earth’s history.

Li Qingsong saw more Warships and unmanned combat systems flying from Venus to join the siege of Earth.

Clearly, the Blutuk People also understood that if they didn’t destroy these space elevators, they would be the ones who would ultimately be annihilated.

The state of the battlefield had become crystal clear.

If the Blutuk People could recover enough strength to destroy the space elevators before the environment on Venus completely deteriorated, they would win.

If they failed to destroy the space elevators before the environment on Venus completely deteriorated, Li Qingsong would win.

Under these circumstances, after a long flight, the first molecular cloud finally reached Venus.
