Humanity Is Gone, but I Have Billions of Clones

Whew... It's that time again, when a book is about to go VIP.

At noon tomorrow, this book will launch its VIP chapters.

The book's performance has been pretty good so far; at least it made it onto the Sanjiang recommendation list. Of course, these results are only good for someone like me, Rainbow; I can't compare to the top-tier authors.

First, I'd like to thank all of my esteemed readers for your support, and my editor, Lan Guang, for his guidance.

You might laugh, but the last time I made it onto the Sanjiang recommendation list was seven or eight years ago—back in the Earth Era. After that, I fell into a long slump. It's been a very long time since any of my works met the requirements to be featured there.

So, I truly cherish this opportunity to be featured on Sanjiang again.

Because of this, I've poured my utmost effort into writing this book, proceeding with great caution and trepidation, terrified of writing any plot points that might turn off my esteemed readers and make you unhappy.

At the same time, I've also done my best to speed up the release schedule and post as many chapters as possible.

Typically, during the initial free period for a new book, authors release two chapters a day, about four thousand characters. But I started this book's free period with three chapters a day, for a total of six thousand characters.

On Qidian, new books usually go VIP at around 150,000 characters. I just checked, and this book's free content is already at 200,000 characters.

I trust that my esteemed readers can see my sincerity.

Putting aside whether my writing is good or bad—after all, being able to write well and create storylines that my esteemed readers enjoy is a matter of skill.

Sometimes, your skill just doesn't measure up, and there's nothing you can do about it.

But let's talk about attitude.

I believe my attitude, at least, is where it needs to be.

I am truly writing this book with the greatest sincerity and effort, hoping that when it goes VIP—the moment that truly measures a book's success—I can earn everyone's support.

As you all know, I'm not young anymore. I'll be 35 after the New Year, which means I'm knocking on forty's door.

I never used to understand what people meant when they talked about the burdens and pressures of life, of having to support both aging parents and young children. But now, I'm well and truly experiencing it for myself.

Because that's my reality now—I'm supporting both my parents and my children.

When you're middle-aged, you can't just do whatever you want anymore. You really have to provide for your family.

I don't have another job; I'm currently a full-time author. My family's livelihood depends on this book. I'm not looking to get rich and famous. I just want to earn enough so that if other people's kids have something, I can afford to buy it for my own kids too. If other men's wives have something, I can afford to buy it for my own wife as well.

My parents are getting older, too. If they get a headache or a fever and need to go to the hospital, I don't want to be like one of those middle-aged men you see in documentaries, where even a hero can be brought to his knees for want of a single penny.

My wish is a simple one. I just want to be able to write about the Cosmos I imagine, to tell exciting stories set among the vastness of space, and at the same time, earn enough to support my family and relieve the pressures of life. That would be enough.

Getting rich and famous, becoming a top-tier author overnight, earning tens of millions a year... I know I don't have the talent for that, so I don't even dream about it.

Just being able to support myself, my parents, my wife, and my kids—to provide a comfortable life for my family—that's enough for me.

All of these hopes are riding on this book.

So, I truly hope all of you can show your support when the book goes VIP tomorrow.

If I had any other choice, I really wouldn't want to be here asking you for your hard-earned money for a subscription.
