The Extra who regained his past life memories

Chapter 141 - days before the secret realm

I went to breakfast with Luna and entered the dining room.

Everyone was already there.

A small smile appeared on my face as I walked over, found an empty seat, and sat down.

Luna followed me and took the seat beside me after greeting everyone.

Soon, the usual conversation started around the dining table while we ate breakfast.

Amy suddenly spoke up.

"I’ll take Gray and Luna to see the city today. We can look around and grab some food."

Mom and the Empress gave us permission.

Luna then looked at me.

"Hey, Gray."

I looked at her.

"What is it?"

"How about we bring Elara with us as well? We didn’t see her yesterday during the tournament, and we don’t even know what happened to her."

I thought about it for a moment before looking at Amy.

"Hey, Amy. Is it okay if we bring someone else along?"

Amy looked at me with slight surprise.

"Hmm? Who? Last time I checked, you were friendless and always glued to Luna."

I glared at her.

"She’s a training partner we made."

Amy placed a finger against her chin and thought about it.

"Hmm... fine with me."

Then she looked toward Elena.

"What do you think?"

Elena nodded.

Amy then turned toward Luna with a mischievous smile.

"Hmm... Luna, Gray invited another girl to the group. What are your thoughts?"

A black line appeared across my forehead.

Luna simply laughed lightly.

"Sister Amy, I’m the one who suggested bringing her along."

Amy nodded.

"Hmm. I’m not surprised at all."

She glanced at me.

"I’d be surprised if my brother actually brought a friend himself."

I glared at her.

"Hey! Don’t you have anything nice to say about me?"

Amy looked at me with amusement.

"Oh, yeah, yeah. You have lots of good qualities."

She giggled.

"But the world just can’t see them."

I puffed out my cheeks.

"Hmph."

We left the dining room with Luna beside me, laughing at my expression.

Luna and I went to find Elara.

We told Amy that we would go and invite her ourselves, but she insisted on coming along.

Elena followed us as well.

We found a guard and asked about Elara.

After getting directions, we made our way to one of the training halls.

Several participants were training inside.

After looking around, we eventually spotted Elara in the distance.

Chloe and Eithen were also there, as usual, training together.

I didn’t pay much attention to them.

Instead, we walked toward Elara.

Luna called out to her and waved.

"Elara!"

Elara turned toward us.

A bright smile immediately appeared on her face.

"Hello, Elara. It’s been a while."

She nodded and greeted both me and Luna before looking at the people standing beside us.

I introduced them.

"This is my sister, Amy, and this is Luna’s sister, Elena."

Amy and Elena stepped forward and greeted her.

Elena already knew who Elara was, of course, so she greeted her with the utmost politeness.

Then Elena spoke.

"Hmm. It seems you’ve become friends with my little sister."

She smiled.

"It’s rare for her to get close to many people. She has an extremely small circle of friends, but she only chooses certain people to become close with."

Elena looked at Elara.

"So, I assume you’re a good person."

Elara was slightly surprised by the compliment before smiling.

"Thank you."

Amy suddenly chimed in.

"As for my annoying brother..."

She pointed at me.

"He’s basically Luna’s exact copy. Believe me when I tell you, he didn’t have a single friend until he met Luna."

She shook her head dramatically.

"And he never puts any effort into making friends either. He doesn’t even want to socialize. He’s a hopeless case."

Elara smiled.

She could actually imagine me doing exactly that.

After all, she had already noticed that I never tried to get along with anyone unless they approached me first.

We talked with Elara for a while about the tournament.

"So, how did the tournament go for you?" Luna asked.

Elara explained that she had managed to survive until the very end.

My eyes widened.

"Really? I didn’t see you at the end."

"Ah, but I saw you two," Elara replied. "I tried to come toward you, but you suddenly disappeared. I missed you."

I nodded.

Luna then asked,

"We came here to ask you something. We’re going on a tour around the city today. Do you want to come with us?"

Elara looked at us for a moment.

She didn’t really have anything else to do besides training.

And Luna had personally come to invite her.

So she agreed.

We nodded and left the training hall together.

Soon, the group consisted of Amy, Elena, Luna, Elara, and me.

We headed into the city.

The moment we entered, we were greeted by a completely different atmosphere.

There were countless stalls lining the streets.

People from all kinds of races walked around, each bringing their own cultures and customs to the city.

We spent some time simply looking around and observing everything.

But more importantly...

There was food everywhere.

And there were plenty of things we’d never tried before.

Amy and I immediately went from one stall to another, trying all kinds of food.

Luna, Elena, and Elara followed us, but they couldn’t compete with Amy and me.

After watching us devour another round of food, Elena sighed.

"Seriously... look at those two siblings. They eat like starving ghosts."

She shook her head.

"They really are the same."

Luna and Elara laughed.

We continued exploring the city, trying different foods and enjoying the various sights.

Eventually, we came across a movie hall.

We all decided to go inside and check it out.

There was no reason to waste our free day.

We should enjoy ourselves as much as possible.

After all, in only a few days, we’d be entering the Secret Realm.

And it wasn’t going to be a short trip.

We could be inside for months.

So this might be our last chance to simply relax and have fun together for quite some time.

We spent the rest of the day wandering around, eating, watching the movie, and enjoying ourselves.

Eventually, night began to fall.

We decided it was time to end our little outing.

It had been a fun day.

And I had to admit...

Elara’s company was pretty good too.

We said our goodbyes to her and returned to the place where we were staying.

After saying goodbye to Luna and the others, I returned to my room.

I took a shower and got ready for dinner.

I still had some time before dinner, so I lay down on my bed and waited.

Of course, I couldn’t just sit around doing nothing.

I started practicing my magic as usual.

Before I knew it, time had passed.

Huh?

I glanced at the time.

Already?

I quickly got out of my room and headed toward the dining hall.

On the way, I met Luna.

This time, I decided to wait for her instead of going ahead.

Once she arrived, we entered the dining hall together and took our usual seats.

We began eating dinner while having the usual conversations.

After a while, the Empress spoke.

"The Secret Realm is located quite far from here. Tomorrow, we’ll begin our journey."

She paused before continuing.

"After we arrive, we’ll have another one or two days to rest before the Secret Realm opens."

Everyone listened carefully.

The Empress then began explaining some important information about the Secret Realm.

"There are many things you need to remember once you enter."

She looked around the table before her eyes settled on Luna and me.

"Most importantly, stay close to Amy and Elena. Don’t wander off alone unless absolutely necessary."

Luna and I nodded.

Mom then added,

"And remember something else. Not everything that looks like a treasure is actually a treasure."

I tilted my head.

She continued.

"Some things are disguised as treasures, but they’re actually traps. Don’t let your greed cloud your judgment. Examine anything suspicious carefully before touching it."

We nodded again.

So even treasures can be traps...

I made sure to remember that.

Eventually, dinner came to an end.

I walked toward my room with Luna.

When we reached the point where we had to separate, I turned around.

"Good night, Luna."

She looked at me and smiled.

"Good night, Gray."

She then headed toward her room.

I entered mine and went straight to bed.

The moment I lay down, I fell into a deep sleep.

The Next Morning

Morning came quickly.

I woke up, took a shower, got dressed, and headed to breakfast.

After finishing our meal, we gathered together and left the castle.

Our carriage was already waiting for us.

I climbed inside and settled into my seat.

As the carriage began moving, I looked outside the window.

A grin slowly appeared on my face.

Finally...

The Secret Realm.

I couldn’t wait to get there.

Just thinking about all the things waiting inside made me excited.

This is going to be interesting
