The Only Cultivator in a World of Hunters

Chapter 163 - Draven and Nyx

In a rather spacious room, Mark stood there alone like an idiot. A few minutes ago, he had been grabbed by the neck and thrown in here by a strange woman wearing a headset.

"What am I supposed to say now?"

Mark was practically crying at this ridiculous situation. The strange woman from earlier had suddenly told him that he would have to give a speech in front of several thousand people before leaving irresponsibly.

While he was standing there blankly, someone suddenly pushed the door open and walked in. Mark had just turned his head to look and immediately froze.

His sworn enemy was actually in this room with him. Even more infuriating was that he did not have the slightest strength to fight back.

"Huh? What is a piece of trash like you doing here?"

Seeing Mark press his lips tightly together helplessly, Bell smirked. A weak young man who stubbornly clung to some old grudge in such a helpless state was truly a joke to Bell.

Bell did not feel even the slightest bit of guilt over having caused Mark’s parents to die. He had not even grown up back then, so what the hell did that have to do with him? As for stealing his girlfriend, that was even less his fault because Mia was the one who made the first move.

"Hmph, none of your business."

Mark replied irritably. Since he could not beat Bell, he naturally could not be bothered to look him straight in the face and make himself even more upset.

"Stop putting on an act in front of me. If your master weren’t Nexus, you wouldn’t have the right to stand here right now."

Mark’s constant act of holding such a deep hatred made Bell find it extremely ridiculous. But seeing it was not pleasant either, so he did not want to look any longer.

"Hmph."

Faced with Bell’s mocking words, Mark only snorted and remained silent. After taking a punch from Bell on the roof of that hotel, Mark had become much calmer than before.

If he had to die just because of one stupid action, it would not be worth it at all. Revenge could still be taken, so he could not act on impulse.

When the atmosphere in the room had become extremely tense, two more people walked in. A man and a woman, both strangers, but Mark had seen their faces before.

After not seeing any S-rank hunters appear in the younger generation of American hunters for many years, this year there were actually three of them.

The one who entered first was an elegant-looking young man with blond hair and red eyes, wearing pants and a shirt unbuttoned down to his chest, looking extremely punchable and lecherous.

This guy was also an S-rank hunter. His ability was called Golden Dragon. If Bell’s ability was to transform his body into a wolf, then Draven’s ability was to transform into a dragon.

His outstanding muscular strength was his greatest advantage. In terms of speed, he was inferior to Bell, but when it came to muscular strength and durability, Bell would lose.

He was the same age as Bell. His awakening coming two years later, was also because of personal reasons, not because he was poor. His status was slightly higher than Bell’s because he was the guildmaster of the Gold Guild.

In the past, the power of his family was one level below the Wolf Guild, but after he successfully awakened an S-rank ability, the gap had narrowed considerably.

The young woman was named Nyx. She was also an S-rank hunter and the youngest among the four at only eighteen years old.

She wore a cumbersome black and purple flowing evening dress that looked extremely inconvenient. Even though it was daytime, she was wearing a sleep mask and did not even bother opening her eyes to see where she was going.

Combined with her smooth purple hair that reached all the way down to her back, her outfit gave off a feeling of being extremely inflexible in battle.

The black gloves she was wearing were not weapons, but they seemed thicker than normal, as if she were concealing some ability that required the use of her hands.

Looking down at her feet revealed an even greater abnormality. She was floating in midair as if she were a ghost rather than a person.

Her ability was called Cursed Calamity. It could be said that her very presence on the battlefield was a curse upon her enemies.

Although Nyx always wore a sleep mask, if someone stared at her, they would discover many terrifying eyes radiating dark purple energy, staring in every direction. Her vision had no blind spots.

Moreover, these special eyes of hers were a type of curse. An enemy she stared at would immediately have their combat strength reduced.

Besides being able to float in the air at will, she also had another ability that was in her hands. Whatever she touched would turn a certain area into stone according to her will. Whether it was humans, monsters, or buildings, none were exceptions.

The petrification effect only lasted for one minute, but that was more than enough. For an S-rank hunter, one minute of having an enemy immobilized was enough to completely change the course of a battle.

"Huh? Why are there two people here? And you... Why are you so weak? How can someone as weak as you even appear in a place like this?"

As soon as Draven entered the room, he greeted his new classmates. His eyes immediately locked onto Mark because of this strange phenomenon that he could not explain.

"What is this? I thought the academy’s student recruitment standards were extremely strict. So how come there’s suddenly someone here who’s only about E-rank strong?"

When Nyx first appeared, her aloof aura was as if she completely ignored everything around her. Yet now she had to open her sleep mask to get a clear look at Mark.

Her eyes were extremely strange. One was purple, the other black. Moreover, both of them emitted a faint glow unlike human eyes.

As soon as she opened her eyes, Draven and Bell immediately frowned after noticing something strange. Mark, on the other hand, broke into a sweat because he sensed danger but could not tell where exactly the danger was coming from.

Both Draven and Nyx were now staring intently at Mark like he was a strange creature that had never appeared in the world before.

Being stared at and scrutinized like this made Mark feel as if he were standing naked in front of them.
