Chapter 81 : Jujutsu Kaisen
That night, Mark slept restlessly.
His breathing grew heavier as the nightmare took hold. He found himself standing in darkness, Annie’s lifeless body cradled in his arms. Homelander stood in front of him, smiling.
"Well, Mark... you tried so hard. Look where it got you."
Mark looked down at Annie, unable to move.
"They’re all dead," Homelander continued. "Every single one of them."
As the nightmare deepened, something changed in the real world.
Above Mark’s bed, space itself began to distort. A star-shaped crack formed silently in the air, its edges glowing with strange dimensional energy. The opening widened slowly until it was large enough for a person to pass through.
A powerful force poured out from it.
The bedsheets fluttered first. Then Mark’s body lifted off the mattress, still asleep, still trapped in the nightmare. He didn’t wake. The force pulled him steadily upward toward the center of the portal.
Within seconds, he was gone.
The portal collapsed behind him without a sound. The room returned to complete silence, as though nothing had happened at all.

Mark’s body dropped out of the portal and hit the water with a loud splash.
A moment later he burst to the surface, coughing, wiping water from his face.
"Tsunami..." he muttered instinctively before looking around.
It wasn’t an ocean. It was a narrow canal.
He swam to the bank, grabbed the concrete edge, and hauled himself out. Water dripped from his clothes as he looked around trying to get his bearings.
Where the hell am I?
Nothing looked familiar. The buildings, the layout, the general atmosphere — none of it matched anywhere he recognized.
"This doesn’t look like America..."
Out of habit, he reached toward his face. His fingers found nothing.
His glasses were gone.
"...Shit."
Without them, the Six Eyes flooded him with far more information than he wanted. Every light, every movement, every trace of energy hitting his senses simultaneously. He rubbed his eyes and tried to adjust to the overload.
When he opened them again, his gaze landed on the buildings across the canal. Rows of signboards covered the storefronts.
The writing wasn’t English. It was Japanese.
Mark stared at the characters for several seconds. Then he looked farther down the street. Every sign, every billboard, every traffic notice.
"...What the hell?"
He stood there listening to the conversations around him.
He recognized the language immediately — Kimiko had watched enough Japanese television around the hideout that he could tell the difference the moment he heard it. That was where his understanding ended. The words blended together without meaning. He couldn’t follow a single sentence.
"So... this really is Japan."
He frowned. That made even less sense than waking up in a canal. He should’ve been in America.
Instead he’d woken up in the middle of the night on the other side of the world, soaking wet, without his glasses, in a country where he couldn’t read a sign or understand a single person.
He had thought about visiting Japan someday. Between all the anime and merchandise he’d seen online, it had crossed his mind more than once.
Just not like this.
Mark suddenly stopped.
His eyes narrowed.
The Six Eyes had picked up something.
A type of energy he had never sensed before. It wasn’t coming from any machine or person he had encountered. It felt unnatural, yet it spread through the air as though it had always existed there. He focused on it, letting the Six Eyes sharpen their perception and trace the source.
There wasn’t just one.
Faint traces of it were scattered throughout the city, but one location stood out clearly from all the others. The energy there was rising rapidly. Every second it grew denser, less stable.
"What the hell is that?"
Then it surged.
Even from this distance the change was immediate and obvious. Without another thought, Mark headed toward the source.

On the rooftop, Megumi Fushiguro stood frozen.
The pressure pouring from Yuji was completely different from before. Black markings spread across Yuji’s face as a grin slowly formed.
"So this is the era now..."
He stretched his arms and looked up at the night sky. "Not bad."
Megumi immediately formed a hand sign, preparing to summon his shikigami. He already knew exactly what was standing in front of him.
"Ryomen... Sukuna."
Sukuna looked at him with amusement. "You know who I am."
Without warning, he disappeared. Megumi barely reacted in time, throwing himself backward as Sukuna’s kick shattered the concrete where he had been standing.
Sukuna laughed. "You’re quick."
Megumi summoned the Divine Dogs. They lunged from both sides simultaneously. Sukuna casually swatted one away and caught the other by the neck before throwing it across the rooftop.
"So this is what passes for jujutsu sorcerers now?"
Megumi’s expression stayed calm but his mind raced. He’s far stronger than I expected.
Then, just as Sukuna was about to move again, he paused.
His grin widened as he looked out over the city.
Two brilliant blue beams shot toward him without warning.
He twisted his body and both attacks missed by inches, tearing through the rooftop behind him.
"Hahaha..."
Sukuna laughed, turning toward the direction the attacks had come from. "This era’s sorcerers are interesting."
A figure landed on the rooftop.
Mark straightened up after landing, eyes fixed on Sukuna. The Six Eyes remained locked on him, carefully reading the overwhelming energy surrounding the boy. He glanced around once before letting out a quiet sigh.
"Hm..."
"I ended up in another fucking world."
Megumi’s eyes shifted toward the newcomer. He hadn’t sensed anyone approaching at all.
