The Evolution of the Weakest Ghoul

Chapter 82: Basha,Eve and Joy

Ronan and the others made their way to the Adventurer Guild located in the inner city.

Another wall surrounded the inner city, but the guards stationed here were on an entirely different level from those outside.

They were mostly at the Peak Transcendent Realm with a few at the Sovereign Realm.

When they noticed the three approaching, the guards stepped forward, but the moment they saw the one-star symbol on Ronan’s clothes, they immediately opened the gate.

Upon entering the inner city, the trio were amazed.

If they had entered the inner city first, they probably wouldn’t have been this surprised.

But after seeing the outer city, the contrast was simply too immense.

"Come on."

Ronan’s voice snapped the two women out of their trance.

Life really was like this.

The stronger you were, the easier your life became but the higher your problems rose as well.

Life had a strange way of being both unfair and balanced at the same time.

Following the directions given by the man, Ronan and the others soon arrived at a massive building.

Its size and shape reminded Ronan of the corporate buildings from his past life.

They walked into a spacious hall on the ground floor.

Adventurers like themselves constantly walked in and out, and Sovereign Realm auras were common.

Ronan approached the counter and looked around, waiting for someone who recognized them to speak up.

Time passed as the three observed the people moving around them.

They continued waiting to see if anyone would recognize them.

After some time, Hesa gave Ronan a stern look.

Ronan coughed.

"I can feel it... Very soon now."

Hesa rolled her eyes.

The three had wore the necklaces around their necks and it seemed to merge into their bodies.

From the outside, there was nothing unusual about them.

A few minutes later, even Yen began looking at Ronan with a questioning expression that clearly said:

Master, are you sure this plan is going to work?

Just then, someone approached them.

"Basha... You’re back?"

A young man asked.

He looked rather thin compared to the tall, muscular men around him.

Ronan immediately stood up with a wide smile.

Hesa and Yen stood up as well.

However, the man’s expression quickly changed.

His eyes moved toward the dried blood around the edges of their clothes.

Then he looked at the three people standing before him.

The former seven-man adventurer squad had been reduced to three.

"What happened?"

The man couldn’t help but ask.

Ronan sighed.

"Let’s talk outside."

The man raised an eyebrow.

What could have happened to make Basha’s voice sound like this?

But he knew it had to be serious.

Perhaps they had encountered an orc group.

Once they were outside, Ronan’s eyes glowed as he looked directly at the man.

The man suddenly felt a sharp pain in his head.

Then he looked up.

Two glowing crimson eyes stared back at him.

His consciousness gradually faded.

Before long, he had fallen under Ronan’s control.

Ronan and the two women then led him away from the building to a slightly less crowded area.

Only then did Ronan begin asking him questions.

They had been quite lucky.

The man was weaker than Ronan, and even better, the adventurer squad they had decided to impersonate consisted of Peak Transcendent Realm members.

Hesa and Yen being at the Sovereign Realm could easily be explained by them having obtained the necessary resources to improve their realm.

Another useful piece of information was that most people only had a basic understanding of another person’s Traits.

Unless they were close relatives or members of a powerful organization that needed such information, they wouldn’t know much about another person’s abilities.

Therefore, as long as Ronan, Yen, and Hesa avoided using their vampiric abilities, their ordinary Traits were enough to maintain their identities.

Ronan asked everything.

From how Basha and the two women had joined the adventurer group, to their relationships, families, personalities, mannerisms, and even the way they spoke.

By the time Ronan and the two women left the alley, they were completely different people.

They were now Basha, Eve, and Joy.

The three headed back toward the Adventurer Guild to report their mission.

"Hello."

Ronan smiled at the beautiful receptionist behind the counter.

"Hello, and welcome. Please state your reason for visiting."

The moment the receptionist noticed the one-star badges on their clothes, her smile disappeared and was replaced by a professional expression.

Ronan raised an eyebrow.

It seemed that even among adventurers, there was a difference in treatment based on strength.

According to what the young man had told him, Transcendent Realm adventurers were at the bottom of the guild’s hierarchy.

Sovereign Realm adventurers were the main force, while those at the Peak Sovereign Realm were treated almost like minor kings, enjoying access to enormous resources.

Ronan narrated their entire mission.

Eventually, the receptionist’s smile returned when she learned that Yen and Hesa had now reached the Sovereign Realm.

"You failed to complete your original missions, but the information you brought back regarding the orcs is valuable."

"You will be rewarded with 200 points. Are you satisfied?"

She asked with a smile.

"Satisfied. Thank you. We’d like to exchange the points for gold."

Ronan replied.

"Ah, yes."

The receptionist nodded.

She opened a drawer and took out twenty golden coins.

Ten points were equivalent to one gold coin.

The Adventurer Guild’s system was dangerous, but it was also quite lucrative.

Most ordinary people on the continent could never accumulate wealth this quickly.

The continent used three primary currencies.

Bronze was the lowest.

Ten thousand bronze coins could be exchanged for one silver coin, while ten thousand silver coins could be exchanged for one gold coin.

However, unless someone used valuable resources or special methods such as Adventurer Points, exchanging lower-tier currency for higher-tier currency required spending more than the exact equivalent.

Ronan collected the coins before leaving the Adventurer Guild with Yen and Hesa.

A grin spread across his face.

"Come on. Let’s go on a shopping spree."

The two women smiled.

They desperately needed new clothes.

It was about time they changed into something decent and well-fitting.

Ronan had also spent one of the gold coins to request five new adventurer sets of clothes from the receptionist.

He carried the coins with him as he and the two women headed toward the most expensive boutique in the inner city.

Meanwhile, the young man they had controlled finally recovered.

He looked around in confusion.

"Where am I?"

He frowned.

Then his expression became even more confused.

"No... Who am I?"
