Millionaire Girlfriend

Chapter 89 - A Normal Day

Ashley and Clara were having lunch with their baby at a quiet restaurant.

Catlyn was resting comfortably in Ashley’s arms while Ashley occasionally adjusted her blanket. She rarely went anywhere without her daughter.

Neither of them had started a real conversation yet.

After what had happened the previous night, even talking normally felt difficult. Ashley didn’t want to bring up the messages on Clara’s phone again, and Clara probably didn’t want another argument either.

For several minutes, they simply ate in silence.

Finally, Clara broke the silence.

"So, what did you do today?"

"Hmm... I went to the gym. I want to lose a few pounds," Ashley admitted.

Clara immediately looked surprised.

"What?"

Ashley looked at her.

"Nothing. It’s just... I don’t see why you need to lose any weight. You look perfect to me."

Clara looked Ashley up and down as she complimented her.

Ashley smiled faintly.

"Thank you. I just feel like I need to do it."

Ashley looked down at Catlyn.

"Okay. If it makes you happy, then do it. As your wife, I’ll support you no matter what you decide," Clara said seriously.

"My wife..."

Ashley repeated the words quietly, as if she hadn’t heard them in a long time.

"Yes. What’s wrong with that?" Clara asked with a small smile.

"Nothing. It’s just... it’s been so long since I heard you call me that. It sounds a little strange now."

"What? You think it sounds strange?" Clara asked, clearly disagreeing with her.

"Okay, then I’ll have to use it more often until you get used to it," Clara announced before raising her hand to call a waiter.

The waiter quickly came over.

"Yes, ma’am. How can I help you?"

"Excuse me. Could you take a picture of me, my wife, and our daughter, please?"

Clara handed him her phone.

She moved her chair closer to Ashley’s until they were sitting right next to each other, with Catlyn resting on Ashley’s lap.

Clara wrapped an arm around Ashley’s shoulders, and they both smiled at the camera as the waiter took several pictures.

It was the first time in a long time that Ashley had been this close to Clara.

She could feel Clara’s warmth and catch her familiar scent.

Without thinking, Ashley turned her head toward her.

She was looking at Clara when she noticed the smile on her face and remembered that they were still taking pictures.

"Thank you so much," Clara said, taking her phone back from the waiter.

She looked through the pictures one by one before stopping on one for a long moment.

It was the picture where Ashley was looking deeply at her, her eyes filled with love and tenderness.

"I think I’m going to have this one framed," Clara said, showing the picture to Ashley.

"No way," Ashley immediately protested.

She found the picture a little embarrassing.

"Why not? Everyone already knows you’re crazy about me. Having a picture like this framed isn’t going to change anything," Clara teased.

Ashley lightly bumped her shoulder against Clara’s.

She couldn’t use both hands because one was holding Catlyn.

A few minutes later, Catlyn started moving her little hands as if she wanted to join their conversation.

"You see? Even Catlyn agrees with my idea. Don’t you, my little princess?" Clara said, playing with her daughter’s tiny hand.

"It doesn’t matter. That picture is staying between the three of us, or we’re deleting it," Ashley replied.

Deep down, an immense happiness filled Ashley’s heart.

This was the kind of family moment she had always dreamed of having.

She knew their marriage wasn’t perfect. There were still things between them that needed to be discussed.

But she was happy.

For a little while, she didn’t want to think about anything else.

Clara eventually glanced at the time on her phone.

"I think I should go. I have a meeting with a client this afternoon, and I still need to prepare my presentation."

"Ah, okay. Go ahead," Ashley said.

She was a little disappointed that they already had to separate when they had only just started enjoying themselves.

"Don’t be disappointed. I’m going to come home early today, so we’ll have more time together," Clara said, teasing her.

"Who says I’m disappointed?" Ashley protested, knowing exactly what Clara was implying.

"I know you are."

Clara gently lifted Ashley’s chin with her fingers before leaning forward and giving her a soft kiss.

"Okay... maybe I’m a little disappointed," Ashley admitted.

Clara smiled.

After lunch, Ashley went to Chloe’s house with Catlyn.

She had been meaning to update her social media accounts for a while, and Chloe had offered to help her. Ashley didn’t want to go back to acting just yet, but she had decided to start making videos instead, including podcasts and shows that she could post on her social media accounts.

When Chloe opened the door, a smile immediately appeared on her face.

"Hey!" she greeted enthusiastically, since she hadn’t seen her friend in over a week.

Then her eyes fell on Catlyn.

"And you, my little cutie! Look at you. Come here and see Auntie."

Chloe took Catlyn from Ashley’s arms, making Ashley smile.

Ashley was grateful to have such a warm and caring friend like Chloe.

"Judging by that smile, I’m guessing lunch with Clara went really well," Chloe remarked.

She hadn’t seen Ashley wear such a genuine smile in a long time, so she could tell that the problems in Ashley’s relationship had improved a little.

"Yeah... pretty well," Ashley replied.

She didn’t want to go into details yet, but her smile said enough about how happy she was.

"I’m happy for you," Chloe simply said.

After Chloe had her daughter, her husband had asked her not to go back to work so she could focus entirely on taking care of their little girl.

Chloe had been fine with that because she wanted to give her full attention to taking care of her baby. But now that her daughter was four years old, Chloe had decided it was time for her to find a job.

That’s why Ashley had offered her a job.

Chloe had already been managing Ashley’s social media accounts for a long time because Ashley had never been very good at handling them herself.

So this time, Ashley wanted to take things further. She wanted to create a podcast focused on mental health, where she could talk about her own experience with depression, as well as other topics related to mental health and well-being.

She hoped she could help her followers and other people who were struggling with depression, stress, and other issues.

"So, where are we going to set up our studio?" Chloe asked excitedly.

She was thrilled about the idea of working with her friend, especially since Ashley had offered her a fairly high salary.

"I’ve already ordered all the equipment," Ashley replied. "And I’ve already hired someone to install everything in a room at my house."

The two of them then discussed their plans and the different programs they could create.

They didn’t stop until it was time to pick up little Ashley from school.

Later, while the little girl was quietly eating her snack, Ashley asked her a question.

"So, Ashley, don’t you want a little sister and a little brother?"

The little girl shook her head.

"No. I already have a little sister. Catlyn is my little sister."

Ashley smiled at her answer.

She used to babysit little Ashley when she was still very young, and seeing her now reminded Ashley of how much she had grown.

Ashley hadn’t noticed how quickly time had passed. She was having such a good time with Chloe that the afternoon seemed to fly by.

Then, suddenly, she received a message from Clara.

"I’m already home."

Ashley checked the time. It was still much earlier than she had expected.

Of course, she was delighted.

She wanted to spend more time with Clara anyway.

When Ashley arrived home, Clara was in the kitchen preparing dinner.

Ashley placed Catlyn, who was still asleep, on a small cushion on the living room floor before walking into the kitchen and standing beside Clara.

"Do you want me to help?" Ashley asked.

"Yes, please. Prepare the salad," Clara replied.

She was wearing a kitchen apron, which gave her the look of a real housewife.

"Alright," Ashley said.

They prepared dinner together while talking and teasing each other like they used to. Once the meal was ready, they sat down and ate together.

After dinner, they decided to watch a series while waiting for their food to digest.

Catlyn was still sleeping peacefully on the cushion on the floor while Clara and Ashley sat close together, enjoying their evening alone.

They were already on the second episode, but Ashley had completely lost interest in the show since Clara had slipped her hand inside Ashley’s T-shirt and started playing with her breasts.

Ashley was already looking forward to going to bed, but she knew it was still early and that Catlyn would probably wake up soon. She tried to be patient and not give in to her desire to pull Clara closer.

But unlike Ashley, Clara wasn’t nearly as patient.

She turned toward Ashley and gave her a quick kiss. Ashley instinctively closed her eyes, savoring the feeling of Clara’s soft lips against hers. When the kiss ended, she slowly opened her eyes and found Clara’s lips only a few inches away.

’I can’t resist anymore,’ Ashley whispered before leaning in and kissing Clara passionately.

Clara immediately kissed her back, gently wrapping her arms around Ashley as their lips met in a tender yet passionate embrace. Ashley eventually let herself fall back onto the couch, and Clara followed her down without breaking the kiss.

With Clara on top of her, Ashley ran her hands along her back, gently caressing her. Her hands slowly moved lower until they reached Clara’s butt, which she squeezed firmly with both hands, making Clara jump slightly.

"I missed touching you so much," Clara murmured, gently brushing Ashley’s hair away from her face.

"I missed touching you, too," Ashley replied with a smile, giving Clara’s butt another firm squeeze, making Clara smile as well.

Clara leaned down again, capturing Ashley’s lips in another deep kiss. After a moment, her lips left Ashley’s and moved down to her neck.

Ashley moaned softly, closing her eyes as Clara kissed her neck.

"Oh, shit," Ashley suddenly blurted out when she looked over and saw Catlyn already awake, quietly watching them without crying.

It was rare for her not to cry whenever she woke up.

"Don’t worry. She’s still too young to understand or remember what’s happening," Clara said, continuing to kiss Ashley.

But Ashley sat up and reached for Catlyn.

"I’ll go make her something to eat, and we’ll pick this up once she’s asleep again," Ashley announced before heading into the kitchen.

Clara sank back onto the couch, still worked up, but being interrupted was simply one of the risks that came with being parents.

"Ahh, okay," Clara said with a small sigh before getting up to help her wife take care of their daughter.
