War God Long Ao

Chapter 500: Assassination

As the former Palace Master of Piaomiao Palace, no one knew the situation there better than the Snake Emperor.

The Snake Emperor knew very well that any one of the Four Great Forces was not to be trifled with. Otherwise, they never could have come to dominate the Kyushu Spirit Realm.

The Snake Emperor’s expression was grim. No matter what, he was unwilling to accept this.

More than just being unwilling, he felt he had lost the chance to prove himself.

He could never forget how Piaomiao Palace had cast him out; it was something he would remember for his entire life. The Snake Emperor wanted to show Piaomiao Palace: ’You will regret losing me.’

Long Ao knew exactly what the Snake Emperor was thinking, but for the sake of the bigger picture, he couldn’t just consider one person’s feelings.

"Elder She, with our current strength, there’s no need to clash head-on with Piaomiao Palace. When we find the right opportunity, we can crush them in one fell swoop. There’s no need to act rashly for a moment of satisfaction."

The Snake Emperor was startled. Hearing the Sect Leader’s words, he now understood his meaning.

"Sect Leader, I was wrong."

Waving his hand, Long Ao smiled and said, "There’s no need to assign blame. The Sect will help you with your grudge against Piaomiao Palace."

After hearing Long Ao’s words, it would be a lie to say he wasn’t moved. Especially when comparing the Dragon Sect to Piaomiao Palace, one was in the heavens, the other on the earth.

"Sect Leader, what should we do next?"

Piaomiao Palace’s intervention in Kyushu had already made their stance clear. Just as the Sect Leader had said, if they chose a head-on confrontation, the Sect would gain no advantage whatsoever.

Everyone looked at Long Ao. After all, this matter was no small thing. Losing Kyushu was a minor issue; implicating the Sect was a major one.

Long Ao had already thought through how to handle Piaomiao Palace’s intervention in Kyushu.

After a couple of coughs, Long Ao said, "Since Piaomiao Palace wants Kyushu so badly, then we’ll let them have it. From this moment on, no one from the Sect is to interfere in the affairs of Kyushu."

Long Ao had more or less guessed Piaomiao Palace’s intentions.

Given the lessons learned from their past few encounters, he believed Piaomiao Palace wouldn’t dare attack the Sect directly. That being the case, Piaomiao Palace only had one option: interfere in Kyushu.

Without giving anyone a chance to speak, Long Ao rose and left, leaving everyone behind to look at each other in confusion, completely unsure of what the Sect Leader truly meant.

"Ao’Er, what are you planning to do?"

Long Ao was preparing to leave the Celestial State, so he returned to the family before his departure. However, he only told his grandfather, Long Haotian, about it. He didn’t tell anyone else, not even his parents, because he was afraid of worrying them, Ao Xue, and the others.

Long Ao didn’t hide anything from his grandfather.

"Grandpa, Feng Wuyi and Liu Boming broke our agreement and tried to ambush and kill me. Now they’re interfering in Kyushu. If I just sit back and do nothing, Piaomiao Palace will think I’m afraid of them."

"Ao’Er, Piaomiao Palace is one of the Four Great Forces. Their foundation and strength are plain to see. If you act rashly this time, what if..."

Although Long Haotian didn’t finish his sentence, his meaning was clear. No matter what, Piaomiao Palace had Saints in their ranks. If his grandson went openly, could he possibly gain an advantage?

But Long Ao was full of confidence. He said reassuringly, "Don’t worry, Grandpa. I won’t be reckless. If I can’t attack them openly, I’ll do it from the shadows."

Long Haotian was an old fox himself; he instantly understood his grandson’s meaning.

Long Haotian had considerable faith in his grandson. With Long Ao’s current strength as a Semi-Saint, if he chose to assassinate his targets, he believed that even a Saint from Piaomiao Palace would be powerless against him.

Of course, Long Haotian knew that Long Ao possessed Spatial Teleportation. Otherwise, he would never have agreed so easily.

Spatial Teleportation.

Even now, Long Haotian found it hard to believe. For a Heaven-Defying Martial Skill like the Spatial Teleportation his Ao’Er possessed to actually exist in this world... if he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he would have never believed it, not even if it killed him.

"Grandpa, after I leave this time, Piaomiao Palace will definitely not let this matter rest. If I’m not mistaken, they will certainly send assassins after the family and the Sect. So, Grandpa, you must watch over everyone and forbid them from leaving."

Long Ao wasn’t too worried about the family’s safety, as long as the family disciples didn’t leave Long Ao Peak. And just to be safe, Long Ao invited the Fire Qilin from the family to the Dragon Sect.

After all, at the base of Long Ao Peak, the Ancestor Long Batian stood guard. Unless Piaomiao Palace dispatched a Celestial Divine Martial Artist, who could possibly be a match for the Ancestor?

"I understand."

From start to finish, Long Ao never told his grandfather—or anyone else, for that matter—about the Ancestor.

Once he had arranged everything, Long Ao immediately departed. He used a Teleportation Array to silently enter the Kyushu Spirit Realm. Before, when the Dragon Sect didn’t have a Teleportation Array, this would have been incredibly difficult for Long Ao to accomplish.

But things were completely different now. Upon entering the Kyushu Spirit Realm, Long Ao didn’t return to the City of Sin, but headed directly north.

The Kyushu Spirit Realm had Four Great Forces: Eastern Emperor City, the West Third Level Long Family, the Southern Netherworld Mansion, and North Piaomiao Palace. Long Ao was headed for Piaomiao Palace’s territory in the north.

The main reason for Long Ao’s entry into the Kyushu Spirit Realm this time was Piaomiao Palace. Feng Wuyi and Liu Boming had broken their one-year agreement, enraging Long Ao. Throwing all caution to the wind, he prepared to assassinate disciples of Piaomiao Palace.

’Kill one, that’s one. Kill a pair, even better.’

And just like that, Long Ao began his assassinations. With his current strength, unless his target was a Saint, even a Semi-Saint Martial Artist would find it difficult to escape his blade.

Yin Baishun, a Semi-Saint Martial Artist from Piaomiao Palace, was arguably the most powerful Elder in the Outer Sect. He normally resided in Piaomiao City and was responsible for managing all the affairs of the Outer Sect for Piaomiao Palace.

The moment Long Ao set foot in Piaomiao City, he immediately targeted this strongest Elder in the city.

Long Ao knew in his heart that if he wanted to make Piaomiao Palace feel pain, he had to assassinate powerful Elders and exceptionally talented disciples. Otherwise, assassinating ordinary disciples would be useless.

For this very reason, Long Ao directly targeted Piaomiao City’s strongest Elder, Yin Baishun.

Piaomiao City, as Piaomiao Palace’s largest city, was extremely prosperous. After entering, Long Ao did not act immediately. He had slightly disguised himself this time, so ordinary people wouldn’t be able to recognize him.

Long Ao didn’t want to alert the enemy prematurely. After all, Piaomiao Palace was filled with experts. If he was discovered, forget about continuing his assassinations; just escaping Piaomiao City safely would be a problem. For that reason, Long Ao planned to act in secret.

After entering Piaomiao City, Long Ao began to observe Yin Baishun’s comings and goings. After making some inquiries, he had a firm grasp of Yin Baishun’s general routines. In other words, Long Ao was now fully confident.
