Chapter 416: Yuyin’s Junior Sister?
’Challenge Long Ao?’
Looking at Tong Ling’Er, everyone wondered if she had lost her mind. Had her head been kicked by a donkey?
Hadn’t she just seen the look on Tong Zhan’s face?
Fear. Apprehension. Worry.
Any intelligent person could have guessed that Tong Zhan was extremely wary of Long Ao, even terrified of him.
But Tong Ling’Er paid no mind to any of this. In her eyes, she was a peerless genius, and her master was an expert among experts. Why should she fear some upstart kid?
If she knew of Long Ao’s past accomplishments, one wonders if she would still be acting this way.
"Ling’Er, don’t be impudent."
"Sect Leader Long, I am truly sorry. My daughter is young and doesn’t know any better. Please don’t hold it against a child."
Seeing her father act so humbly, Tong Ling’Er was left speechless. With a wave of her hand and a cold snort, she said, "Long Ao, I am formally challenging you. Do you dare to accept?"
Before Tong Zhan could say a word, Long Ao had already nodded. His voice was impassive as he said, "If you can force me out of this circle, you win."
Long Ao drew a circle around himself with his foot. It wasn’t very large; it looked as if a single, simple step would be enough to push him outside of it.
"I will not fight back."
’Damn,’ everyone cursed inwardly.
Everyone knew Long Ao was powerful, but was it really possible for him to not fight back and stay within that circle?
"And what if I win?"
"I’ll leave immediately, and I won’t interfere in your dispute any longer."
"That’s not enough. If you lose, you must commit suicide."
Hearing Tong Ling’Er’s words, everyone who had just started to relax tensed up all over again. However, since things had already come to this, no one said anything further.
"Fine. But what if you lose?" Long Ao actually had a decent impression of Tong Ling’Er. After all, a girl like her wasn’t scheming; she was quite innocent and exceptionally talented, just overly arrogant and unaware of her own limits.
"If I lose, I’ll be at your disposal."
Brimming with confidence, Tong Ling’Er didn’t even wait for Long Ao to get ready before throwing a vicious punch.
Everyone was optimistic about Tong Ling’Er’s chances. If Long Ao were to fight back, she wouldn’t stand a chance, without a doubt. But he was just standing there, unmoving. No matter how formidable his power was, it seemed unlikely he could withstand this attack.
But even so, Tong Ling’Er’s fist still couldn’t reach Long Ao. She couldn’t even get inside the circle.
Stomping her foot hard, Tong Ling’Er said indignantly, "Long Ao, you promised you wouldn’t fight back!"
With a helpless shrug, Long Ao smiled and said, "I didn’t."
Everyone had seen it with their own eyes: Long Ao truly hadn’t fought back. Tong Ling’Er was about to explode with frustration because she had already guessed that her opponent’s power was immense. She was, at the very least, no match for him.
"Hmph. You..."
Just then, a powerful Momentum erupted from Long Ao, pressing down viciously on Tong Ling’Er. Everyone was stunned, Tong Zhan included, because they never would have thought Long Ao would attack so suddenly, without the slightest warning.
"Sect Leader Long, my daughter doesn’t know any better! You are a man of great magnanimity, please don’t lower yourself to her level."
Tong Zhan was terrified. Long Ao’s power was so overwhelming that even if he stepped in, it would be a death sentence. He had already cursed Ouyang Feng’s ancestors eighteen generations back in his mind. ’Damn it all, where in the world did Ouyang Feng find someone like Long Ao?’
"Hmph. Let me tell you something: don’t be so arrogant. You don’t have the right to be. Understand?"
Long Ao had no intention of killing Tong Ling’Er. Otherwise, with her level of strength, she would have been completely unable to resist the pressure of his Momentum. He only intended to teach her a lesson.
Tong Ling’Er gritted her teeth and held on.
Staring daggers at Long Ao, she was undeniably resilient.
Nodding in appreciation, Long Ao carefully controlled the force of his pressure. But just then, a powerful energy suddenly filled the space between Heaven and Earth, instantly severing the connection between him and Tong Ling’Er.
Not daring to let his guard down for even a second, Long Ao knew the master of this Momentum was incredibly powerful. At the very least, with his current strength, he was no match for them. Even so, he instantly released his Heaven and Earth’s Momentum to resist the terrifying power.
"Hmph. Not bad at all."
Long Ao was startled to see an old woman in black robes suddenly appear, but his surprise quickly turned to delight. The woman was none other than Yuyin’s master.
"Master."
’Master?’
Hearing Tong Ling’Er call the old woman "Master," Long Ao was surprised. ’Doesn’t that make Tong Ling’Er either Yuyin’s junior or senior martial sister?’
’It really is a small world.’
"Insolent! With your level of strength, don’t you know that acting so rashly is a death sentence? Is this how I normally teach you?"
Tong Ling’Er was terrified of the old woman. She pouted but didn’t dare utter another word.
"Senior."
"And you," she said, turning to Tong Zhan. "You’re utterly useless. I taught you a Cultivation and Martial Skill, yet you’ve taken this long to get your revenge. You are no longer qualified. From this moment on, your grudge with the Ouyang Family is hereby written off."
"Understood, Senior."
Tong Zhan showed not a hint of anger, as if this was to be expected. After all, the old woman’s power was undeniable. Forget him—even Long Ao was likely no match for her.
"Senior, if I may ask, how is Yuyin doing now?"
"Hmph! Who do you think you are? Is my senior sister’s name something you have the right to say?"
Tong Ling’Er already found Long Ao disagreeable, and now with her master to back her up, she was even more brazen. If her strength had been a match for his, she would have attacked long ago instead of waiting until now.
"Insolent."
The old woman appeared furious, but anyone could see that she doted on Tong Ling’Er. This was likely why Tong Ling’Er could act so fearlessly, merely offering a cheeky grin.
It turned out that Tong Ling’Er’s reckless attack hadn’t been an act of impulse or foolishness. She had two reasons. First, she knew her opponent was Long Ao and was one hundred percent certain he wouldn’t kill her. Second, her master was hidden nearby and would never watch her die. That was why she had been so audacious.
This was enough to prove that Tong Ling’Er was an exceptionally clever young woman.
"Long Ao, I know everything you have been up to recently. It’s quite impressive. But I must tell you, with your current level of strength, you are still not worthy. So, you must work harder. I don’t want Yuyin to marry a good-for-nothing. If you don’t want to be a good-for-nothing, you had better strive to improve your power."
