Chapter 404: Death or Surrender
Although she was stunned by Long Ao’s strength, the Snake Princess didn’t think he stood a chance in a fair fight.
When the Four Great Emperors joined forces, who could possibly be their match? ’Only a Void Saint Martial Artist in person,’ she thought.
And Long Ao was merely a Realm King. Whether anyone else believed it or not, the Snake Princess found it utterly impossible.
But the Snake Princess knew she was powerless to help. ’If Long Ao can’t defeat the Four Great Emperors on his own, what use would I be? It would only expose my identity.’
At that moment, the five of them were already locked in a fierce battle.
The moment they struck, the Four Great Emperors unleashed and stacked their individual Powers of Domain. Since they couldn’t break through his Domain, they would have to overwhelm it with absolute pressure.
The Four Great Emperors simply could not comprehend why, with their combined strength, they were unable to shatter his Power of Domain.
But under the circumstances, the four of them didn’t dwell on it. They knew only one thing: they had to obliterate Long Ao.
They had assumed that stacking their Domains would surely be enough to suppress Long Ao. But to the Four Great Emperors’ utter astonishment, the Power of Domain he unleashed was so immense that not only did it hold firm, but they felt as if *they* were the ones being suppressed.
Their hearts trembled, none of the four knowing what was happening.
Even fighting one against four, Long Ao seemed to have the upper hand. However, he knew perfectly well that with his own strength alone, it was impossible to defeat the combined power of the Four Great Emperors.
For that very reason, Long Ao immediately activated the God-Locking Pearl and the Godslaying Mirror.
’Our bodies are locked in place? And Time is reversing?’
Feeling their bodies being forcibly locked in place, the Four Great Emperors were utterly astonished, having no idea what was happening.
However, the Four Great Emperors were World Emperor Martial Artists, after all. By joining forces, they shattered the lock and broke free from the Time Reversal.
But in that same instant, Long Ao, wielding the Blood-Drinking Mad Saber, had already brought it slashing down with vicious force.
Blood Drinking Seventh Technique: Heaven and Earth Rending.
’I’m no fool,’ Long Ao thought. ’I know I’m no match for the Four Great Emperors on my own. Since that’s the case, I might as well go all in and use the Blood-Drinking Seventh Technique. Wouldn’t it be better to defeat all four of them in a single blow?’
The world-shaking slash, accompanied by rolling thunder, descended from the heavens. The surrounding Space began to tremble faintly under the terrifying pressure of the Sword Aura.
The Sword Aura forcefully tore Space asunder, and thin, terrifying Space Rifts began to appear.
The Four Great Emperors were utterly dumbfounded. After all, hearing about it was one thing, but experiencing it firsthand was another entirely.
Had they known Long Ao’s Sword Technique was this terrifying, the Four Great Emperors would never have dared to be so careless. In a battle between Martial Artists of their caliber, the slightest misstep could lead to utter annihilation.
The Four Great Emperors could feel the terrifying might of this slash. Not daring to meet it head-on, they all turned to flee.
But would Long Ao give the Four Great Emperors a chance to escape?
Soul Attack! Gritting his teeth against the resulting weakness, Long Ao did something he normally couldn’t—he split his soul into four parts. At that moment, just as the Four Great Emperors were paralyzed by fear, Long Ao’s soul successfully struck all of them.
"Aaaargh!"
"Aaaargh!"
The Four Great Emperors screamed in unison, their movements slowing drastically. In a clash between masters, a few short seconds is enough to decide the outcome, let alone when facing such a world-shaking slash.
The faces of the Four Great Emperors were etched with terror, even despair. With their souls grievously wounded, they had no way to escape.
Deep down, the Four Great Emperors knew the truth. The reason they were losing to Long Ao was their own carelessness. ’If we had gone all out from the very beginning, would this still have been the result?’
But in this world, there was no medicine for regret.
Just as the Four Great Emperors thought their deaths were certain, Long Ao’s figure suddenly appeared. Before any of them could react, he struck each of them with a palm, forcefully shoving them out of the way.
The Sword Aura vanished. The storm had passed.
Staring at the mended Space, the Four Great Emperors still hadn’t processed what had just happened.
"Long Ao, why did you save us?"
Looking at the young man before them, the Four Great Emperors were all extremely curious. Since he had the chance to kill them, why had he saved them instead?
The Four Great Emperors knew perfectly well that Long Ao had come to the City of Sin with one goal: to rule it alone. If he killed the four of them, then from this day forward, there would be no more Five Great Emperors in the City of Sin. There would only be one ruler: Long Ao.
A bitter taste filled the mouths of the Four Great Emperors. Even now, they still found the situation hard to accept.
Just a few days ago, Long Ao was a mere Great Venerable, someone they could have slaughtered at will. Yet in the span of only three or four days, his Cultivation had broken through to the Realm King level, and he now possessed a Power of Domain so incredibly strong that even they couldn’t shatter it.
Four Great Realm Emperors, joining forces, had actually been defeated by a newly ascended Realm King. If word of this got out, would anyone even believe it?
Forget others; even the Four Great Emperors themselves found this reality hard to swallow.
"Victory and defeat have been decided, so I’ll spare you the nonsense. I intend to rule the City of Sin alone. I trust you won’t have a problem with that?"
’A problem?’
The Four Great Emperors gave a bitter laugh. To the victor go the spoils. Even if they were completely unwilling to admit it, the facts were undeniable. They had lost, plain and simple.
"Long Ao, from this day forward, the four of us will never set foot in the City of Sin again. You are now the sole ruler of the City of Sin."
"No."
The Four Great Emperors were about to leave, but their expressions froze when they heard Long Ao’s word. Nangong Tu said coldly, "Long Ao, you’ve already defeated us, and we’ve already yielded the City of Sin. What more could you possibly want?"
"Don’t push things too far."
"If you push us, we’ll just take you down with us."
Looking at the furious Emperors, Long Ao felt exasperated. He sighed and said, "I already told you. You have two choices: death or submission."
Before the Four Great Emperors could respond, Long Ao continued, "I want you to follow me. I can guarantee that your future accomplishments will far surpass what you could achieve now. Furthermore, I can help you break through to the Void Saint Realm."
They ignored everything else Long Ao had said. At the mere mention of the Void Saint Realm, the bodies of the Four Great Emperors trembled. Nangong Tu was the first to ask, "Can you really help us break through to the Void Saint Realm?"
The four of them knew full well how difficult it was for a Realm Emperor to break through to the Void Saint level. On their own, who knew how long it would take? But they were suspicious. ’After all, he’s only a Realm King. If he can help others reach the Void Saint Realm, why hasn’t he broken through himself?’
Long Ao, of course, knew what the Four Great Emperors were thinking. He just smiled and said, "Six months ago, I was only a Postnatal Third Heaven Martial Artist."
