War God Long Ao

Chapter 299: Challenging the Supreme Venerable

They had to die.

Things had already come to this. Long Ao certainly wasn't about to stop now.

Guan Feng was completely tied up by Ao Tian, unable to help even if he wanted to. At that moment, Long Ao charged forward, Blood-Drinking Mad Saber in hand.

"Ao Tian, you're courting death!"

"Hmph. I'd say you're the one courting death."

Ao Tian and Guan Feng's sudden battle left everyone completely bewildered. They couldn't understand how the feud between Long Ao and the Blood Sea Sect had suddenly escalated into a conflict between the Blood Sea Sect and the Ghost King Sect.

However, the other Four Great Sects did not intervene, choosing to watch from a safe distance. Despite being part of the same Alliance, they secretly hoped the Ghost King Sect and the Blood Sea Sect would cripple each other, allowing them to swoop in and reap the benefits.

Both Guan Feng and Ao Tian were genuine Supreme Venerables. Their battle was even more ferocious—a single mistake could mean instant death.

"Brother Dugu, it looks like Ghost King Ao Tian wants to protect Brother Long."

Seeing Ao Tian suddenly make a move, Xia Army's heart leaped with joy. After all, the Ghost King Sect's strength was undeniable. Among the Five Great Sects, they were the only ones who could truly stand against the Blood Sea Sect.

Dugu Bai nodded and breathed a sigh of relief. "This is exactly what I was hoping for. With the Ghost King involved, Brother Long's life should be safe. But he was too reckless this time. He doesn't know when to quit while he's ahead. This whole thing has become a huge mess."

Even now, Dugu Bai couldn't understand why Long Ao insisted on continuing his slaughter.

'Even if Long Ao wanted revenge, he'd already killed four of the Blood Sea Sect's Venerables. His vengeance should be satisfied. He should have used this opportunity to escape.'

'But what did Long Ao do?'

'Instead of leaving, he went after the other six Venerables. Forget Guan Feng and the Blood Sea Sect—any sect would hunt him down to the ends of the earth for this.'

Wielding the Blood-Drinking Mad Saber, Long Ao hunted down the six Venerables.

With no other choice, the six Venerables had to stop and fight. Though their morale was shaken, their combined strength was still formidable.

And so, the battle was rejoined.

The battle was full of unexpected twists. No one had imagined that Long Ao would continue to hunt the remaining six Venerables. Even more shocking was Ghost King Ao Tian's sudden move against Guan Feng.

'Long Ao knew full well that killing all six Venerables in a short amount of time would be no easy feat.'

'But he also knew he had to end this fight quickly. He couldn't let it drag on. If the other two Supreme Venerables were alerted, his troubles would become immense.'

Long Ao unleashed his full power, taking on all six at once. The battle was cataclysmic.

The God-Locking Pearl and Godslaying Mirror activated simultaneously. Waves of strange energy radiated outward, enveloping the six Venerables. Normally, they could have broken the Seal together in a single second, but things were different now.

He successfully locked onto the six Venerables and reversed the flow of Time for three seconds. Seizing the golden opportunity, Long Ao brought the Blood-Drinking Mad Saber in his hands crashing down once more.

SLICE.

Without a doubt, empowered by the God-Locking Pearl and Godslaying Mirror, Long Ao's Heaven-Shocking Blade Aura descended. It instantly slew one of the Venerables, slicing him in two. Even his soul was devoured by the blade aura.

The same world-shaking slash, the same result: a body cleaved in two.

Another Venerable had fallen.

Watching the Venerable get cut down, the crowd was utterly stunned. It was clear Long Ao was determined to annihilate the remaining five. A sense of anticipation filled everyone's hearts. After all, if Long Ao killed all ten of their Venerables, the Blood Sea Sect's power would plummet.

One had to remember that the Blood Sea Sect only had three Supreme Venerables and ten Venerables in total.

If the Blood Sea Sect were to lose all ten of its Venerables at once, leaving only the three Supreme Venerables to hold the fort, how could they possibly contend for dominion over the Celestial State?

Everyone, including Guan Feng, understood this point perfectly. Guan Feng, in particular, began to panic when he saw Long Ao slay yet another Venerable.

'Guan Feng knew that if he remained tied up by Ghost King Ao Tian, there would only be one outcome: the remaining five Venerables would be slaughtered by Long Ao. If that happened, all his years of hard work would be for naught.'

Guan Feng knew perfectly well why Ao Tian was holding him back.

'The Ghost King Sect and the Blood Sea Sect were rivals, vying for supremacy in the Celestial State. Their strengths were comparable, each possessing ten Venerables. If the Blood Sea Sect's ten Venerables were all killed, who would stand to gain the most?'

'Without a doubt, it would be the Ghost King Sect.'

At this thought, a venomous hatred for both the Ghost King Sect and Long Ao consumed Guan Feng, and his attacks grew even more vicious. However, the gap in power between him and Ao Tian was vast; it was nearly impossible for Guan Feng to kill him.

CRUNCH. Long Ao's fists rained down on a Venerable, one after another. In just a few seconds, he had pummeled the man into a bloody pulp, snuffing out his life.

Another Venerable was dead. Six of the ten were now gone. Guan Feng was on the verge of madness. He had never imagined things would end up like this.

Losing six Venerables was a devastating blow to the Blood Sea Sect.

The Blood Sea Sect had prepared for so many years, finally amassing the strength to vie for control of the Celestial State. But now, because of one man—one single Venerable—all their efforts were on the verge of collapse. They might even be forced to withdraw from the race entirely. How could Guan Feng possibly accept such an outcome?

After successfully killing another Venerable, Long Ao didn't pause. He continued his ferocious assault—slash after slash, punch after punch—giving the remaining four Venerables no room to breathe.

Long Ao's eyes were red with bloodlust. The desire for Slaughter was consuming his heart and soul. The hatred for what happened to his family transformed into raw killing intent, causing his strength to surge once more.

SLICE.

The Heaven-Shocking Blade Aura claimed another Venerable. Only three of the original ten remained. The sight left everyone deeply shaken. It was clear now: Long Ao intended to fight the Blood Sea Sect to the bitter end.

Overwhelmed by Long Ao's powerful momentum, two of the final three Venerables were slain. In just a few dozen minutes, nine of the ten Venerables had fallen. Only one remained, heavily wounded, and Long Ao viciously kicked him to the ground.

Planting a foot on the Venerable, Long Ao said coldly, "Guan Feng, stand down."

Ao Tian and Guan Feng, who were locked in battle, forcefully broke apart. Guan Feng stared daggers at the young man, his voice frigid. "Long Ao, a blood debt must be paid in blood. Today, I will tear you to shreds!"

Nine dead and one injured out of ten Venerables—the Blood Sea Sect's Vitality was critically wounded. As its Sect Leader, how could Guan Feng not be enraged?

Completely ignoring Guan Feng's fury and threats, Long Ao stomped down hard on the Venerable's head. CRUNCH. The man's skull imploded. Just as Guan Feng charged forward, Long Ao's voice boomed out.

"Guan Feng, I now formally challenge you. Do you dare to accept?"
