War God Long Ao

Chapter 262: Primordial Dragon's Roar

"A Nine Nether Earth Tiger!"

Long Potian seemed a little surprised. He hadn't expected Long Ao to have such a little guy with him.

"Long Ming, come back."

Shaking his head, Long Ao communicated with Long Ming, only to discover with a sense of helplessness that the little guy actually wanted to help him devour these Resentful Spirits.

He was startled. After all, even Long Fu was powerless against these Resentful Spirits, let alone the little guy. But before Long Ao could make a move, Long Ming's small body had already shot forward.

Long Ming was fast—incredibly fast—moving like a phantom. No matter how powerful the spirit, Long Ming would devour it without hesitation.

Ultimately, the two of them were quite lucky. If they had entered this tomb space several hundred years ago, they probably wouldn't have survived even the first wave of attacks.

However, after all these years under the Seal, the Resentful Spirit Army's power had diminished significantly. This was precisely why the little guy could devour them with such abandon.

But regardless, there were simply too many Resentful Spirits here. It was an almost impossible task for Long Ming to devour them all on his own.

But Long Ao wanted to help and was powerless to do so. With his level of strength, there seemed to be nothing he could do but stand by and wait.

"Master, stop the little guy, quickly! If he keeps devouring them, I'm afraid he'll explode and die!"

Hearing Long Fu's words, Long Ao was stunned. Without a moment's hesitation, he rushed over and scooped up the little guy who was busy devouring the Resentful Spirits.

"Long Ming, I know you want to help me, but if it means trading your life for mine, I'd rather be the one to die, not you."

Hearing this, the little guy fell completely still.

"Master, put the little guy into the Dragon Seal Space."

Nodding, Long Ao certainly understood the gravity of the situation. The little guy had devoured so many Resentful Spirits; if anything were to happen to him, he would feel guilty for the rest of his life.

The little guy had just been sent into the Dragon Seal Space when, before Long Potian and Long Ao could even react, they both lost consciousness.

That's right. The two of them had indeed lost consciousness.

Under normal circumstances, for them to lose consciousness at a time like this, the consequences were easy to imagine.

And just as expected, the moment they lost consciousness, the countless surrounding Resentful Spirits lunged toward Long Ao and Long Potian. But at that exact moment, a Small Seal suddenly floated out from within Long Ao's robes—a small, black seal.

A primeval Dragon's Roar resounded, echoing throughout the entire tomb space.

Immediately after, the silhouette of a colossal Giant Dragon appeared. It slowly opened its eyes and swept its gaze impassively across the area. At just this one look, all the charging Resentful Spirits scattered in terror, like mice fleeing a cat.

Contempt was written all over the Giant Dragon's face. It simply chuckled, and a powerful aura suddenly emanated from its body—ancient, profound, indifferent, sinister, terrifying, and mighty—directly enveloping all the Resentful Spirits.

The once-incredibly powerful Resentful Spirits, shrouded by the Dragon Breath, were instantly annihilated, vanishing without a trace.

Seemingly exhausted, the Giant Dragon couldn't even be bothered to move. It transformed into a streak of light and entered the Dragon Seal Space, while the black Small Seal also returned to Long Ao's body.

Neither Long Ao nor Long Potian knew any of this had happened.

About three hours later, Long Ao and Long Potian slowly stirred awake. They glanced at each other, then shot to their feet. They looked back and forth between each other, then at their surroundings, both of them completely baffled.

"Brother Long, what in the world happened?"

"I don't know. All the Resentful Spirits are gone."

The two of them looked at the completely empty tomb space and shrugged helplessly. But no matter how it happened, the Resentful Spirits had vanished for no apparent reason, and they had managed to keep their lives. It was a stroke of luck amidst the misfortune.

"Brother Long, we should leave this place as soon as possible."

Perhaps truly frightened, Long Potian couldn't wait to leave the cave. But Long Ao just waved his hand and said, "Brother Potian, all the Resentful Spirits are gone. Since we're already here, why don't we do some searching?"

He nodded. Since Long Ao had put it that way, Long Potian wasn't going to refuse.

Even though all the Resentful Spirits were gone, Long Potian remained extremely cautious. He was on high alert, scanning his surroundings, with absolutely no inclination to search for so-called Treasure.

Long Ao, however, paid it no mind. 'I barely escaped with my life, and the Resentful Spirit Army is finally gone. If I miss this opportunity, I'll never forgive myself.'

The entire tomb space, as far as the eye could see, was filled with tombs.

Long Ao didn't begin his search blindly. 'I know perfectly well that in the great war back then, the Martial Artists were of all different strengths. I have to seize this chance. If I search them one by one, who knows how long it'll take.'

To this moment, Long Ao had no idea how the Resentful Spirit Army had vanished, so he knew he had to leave this place as soon as possible.

It's always better to be safe than sorry. What if the Resentful Spirit Army reappeared?

Long Ao stood silently in place. He gently released his aura, extending his senses to all the tombs, one after another.

'No bodies?'

He couldn't sense any aura whatsoever. Long Ao was shocked. 'I can say with near certainty that none of these tombs contain a body. What in the world is going on?'

'There are souls, but no bodies.'

"Brother Long, what happened?" Seeing Long Ao's solemn expression, Long Potian walked over and asked, full of curiosity.

Long Ao didn't hide anything, his voice grave. "Brother Potian, I just used my senses to check. I'm certain there are no bodies inside these tombs."

"Huh?" Hearing this, Long Potian also seemed shocked. 'No bodies in the tombs? Then what were those Resentful Spirits we just saw?'

"Where did the bodies go? They couldn't have been stolen, right?"

Neither Long Potian nor Long Ao believed it for a second. Someone daring to come in and rob these graves? What a joke. They had seen with their own eyes just how terrifying the Resentful Spirit Army was. How could there be only souls but no bodies?

For some reason, both Long Ao and Long Potian felt that something was very wrong, but neither could put their finger on exactly what it was.

"Brother Long, something's not right about this. I think we should just leave."

Nodding, Long Ao agreed. He had no desire to get involved either. The matter of the missing bodies was indeed bizarre, but it was beyond their ability to handle. And so, Long Ao and Long Potian prepared to leave.

"Hehehe... Since you're here, why leave so soon? For so, so many years... I've been so lonely... so very lonely..."

Just as they were about to leave, the two of them suddenly heard a sinister voice, and a cold shiver ran down their spines. Long Potian demanded coldly, "Who's skulking in the shadows? Show yourself if you have any courage!"
