War God Long Ao

Chapter 215: Dragon's Roar and Tiger's Howl

To kill someone with a borrowed knife.

Long Yili knew his own limits. With his current strength, it was practically impossible for him to kill Long Ao.

Li Xin, the Nine Nether Spider, was no fool. He knew Long Yili was trying to use him, but he genuinely did want to kill Long Ao.

"Red Fire Town."

Li Xin was completely confident. With his strength, he could easily control all of Red Fire Town.

"Long Yili?"

Staring at the two who had suddenly appeared before him, Long Ao was utterly shocked. He found it hard to believe. Why would Long Yili, who was supposed to have fallen, appear outside Red Fire Town?

"You can recognize me?"

"Your appearance may have changed, but your aura never will." Long Ao felt a heavy weight in his heart. He could clearly sense that the big man next to Long Yili was incredibly powerful. He had to be at least an Earth Emperor Martial Artist, perhaps even a Taoist Ancestor Martial Artist.

"Brat, still recognize me?"

Hearing the big man's words, Long Ao focused his senses. As he did, his expression changed. He asked grimly, "You're the Nine Nether Spider?"

"Hahaha! Very good. I didn't think you'd still recognize me."

Watching the two laugh maniacally, Long Ao was incomparably shocked. 'Back in the cave, Long Yili was devoured, and the Nine Nether Spider self-destructed. That being the case, why are they both here in front of me?'

"Long Ao, I'll give you one chance. Kill yourself here, and I can spare Red Fire Town."

SLAP! Before Long Yili could even finish speaking, Li Xin sent a resounding slap across his face. It was so loud that it left Long Yili stunned, completely bewildered as to what had just happened.

With a cold snort, Li Xin said contemptuously, "Who the hell do you think you are, daring to make decisions for me? Get the hell out of my way."

"Understood, Master." Internally, Long Yili was furious, but he still scurried to the side, trembling in fear.

"Brat, not only are you going to die today, but everyone in Red Fire Town will die too. But I can give you a chance. Kneel and beg for forgiveness, and I'll make your death a little quicker."

The Nine Nether Spider, Taoist Ancestor Peak Realm.

Long Ao wasn't too worried. The Fire Qilin stood guard over the Long Family, so a mere Nine Nether Spider was nothing to be afraid of. But he was unwilling to use the Fire Qilin's power unless he had absolutely no other choice.

"You refuse?"

"Screw you."

Without giving the Nine Nether Spider or Long Yili any opportunity, Long Ao shot forward like an arrow. However, the Nine Nether Spider was a being at the Taoist Ancestor Peak Realm, and its strength was undeniable.

In the blink of an eye, the two were locked in combat.

After just three exchanges, Long Ao was forced back repeatedly. And that was with the Nine Nether Spider holding back; otherwise, Long Ao wouldn't have been able to withstand a single blow. Such was the gap between the Human King Realm and the Taoist Ancestor Peak Realm.

Not daring to let his guard down for a moment, Long Ao knew perfectly well that the only reason the Nine Nether Spider wasn't using its full power was to humiliate him.

The God-Locking Pearl, the Godslaying Mirror. A strange power spread out, not only locking the Nine Nether Spider in place but also reversing the flow of time.

With time flowing in reverse, the Nine Nether Spider's movements slowed, making Long Ao seem much faster by comparison. Wielding the Blood-Drinking Mad Saber, he unleashed a vicious, momentum-fueled strike. The Heaven-Shocking Blade Aura tore through space like a bolt of lightning.

Taoist Ancestor Realm.

One had to admit, the Nine Nether Spider's power was immense. In just a single second, it restored the normal flow of time, broke free from the lock, and smashed out with both fists.

The Blade Aura and the fist's energy collided, sending sparks flying. The Nine Nether Spider didn't budge, but Long Ao was sent flying backward.

Greatly alarmed, Long Ao forced himself to a stop. He knew Taoist Ancestor Martial Artists were powerful, but he hadn't expected the Nine Nether Spider to be *this* powerful.

Then again, it made sense. Back then, even the combined might of the Celestial Red Three Ancestors couldn't kill the Nine Nether Spider. In the end, they had to use the God-Locking Pearl just to seal it, a feat that cost them their lives. That alone showed just how terrifyingly powerful the Nine Nether Spider was.

Even knowing he was outmatched, Long Ao would not choose to give up.

That was the kind of person Long Ao was—the tougher the fight, the more courageously he fought. If not, he never would have gone to the Ghost King Sect alone, fighting the world for the woman he loved and nearly losing his life in the process.

"Hahaha! Brat, I'd like to see you try and escape from me today."

The Nine Nether Spider was supremely confident. Its opponent was a mere Human King Realm, less than an ant in its eyes. Even if a Taoist Ancestor Martial Artist were to arrive, it wouldn't be afraid.

Long Ao moved again. The God-Locking Pearl and Godslaying Mirror shot out simultaneously, once again enveloping the Nine Nether Spider.

Having learned its lesson, the Nine Nether Spider was smarter this time. Before its body could be locked down, it shot out and chopped forward viciously with both palms.

Time Advance.

The Godslaying Mirror's power lay in its ability to alter not just an opponent's flow of time, but one's own as well. With Time advanced by three seconds, Long Ao's speed instantly accelerated.

Its eyes turned cold, but the Nine Nether Spider showed no anger. Instead, an expression of utter boredom spread across its face, as if it were tired of the game.

Just then, Long Ao did the unexpected. Instead of continuing his fight with the Nine Nether Spider, he shot toward Long Yili. 'If you don't pull out the roots when you cut the weeds, they'll just grow back in the spring.'

But the Nine Nether Spider gave Long Ao no such chance. It appeared in front of Long Yili with blinding speed, waiting for Long Ao to walk right into its trap.

Forcibly changing direction, Long Ao realized he had still underestimated the Nine Nether Spider's strength and speed. 'It seems if I keep fighting,' he thought, 'the only possible outcome is being killed. I can't change anything.'

Long Ao knew that if he left, the Nine Nether Spider would enter and slaughter Red Fire Town. The Fire Qilin had already stated that it wouldn't concern itself with the fate of the town. As long as the Nine Nether Spider didn't attack the Long Family directly, the Fire Qilin would not intervene.

For that very reason, unless he had no other choice, Long Ao was truly unwilling to back down.

"Let's see how you like my spider web."

As it spoke, the Nine Nether Spider began spitting out a blood-colored web. In moments, a giant web had formed. Long Ao didn't dare risk a direct confrontation; if he were to be caught, the consequences would be unthinkable.

It had to be said that the Nine Nether Spider was incredibly powerful. If Long Ao were trapped by that web, his chances of escape would be slim to none.

Just as Long Ao darted about, looking for a chance to escape, a Dragon's Roar and a Tiger's Howl echoed in unison. To the utter shock of the Nine Nether Spider and Long Yili, a Giant Dragon and a Black Tiger appeared simultaneously, their cries shaking Heaven and Earth.
