War God Long Ao

Chapter 124: Unrivaled in the Innate Realm

Three moves, and it was a draw.

Bing Hun was astonished. She had never imagined that Long Ao could actually withstand three of her moves.

Upon joining the Thunder Royal Family, Bing Hun had learned about all twenty Envoys of the Thunder Empire. Of the twenty, she was most interested in Long Ao.

Everything surrounding Long Ao was simply unbelievable.

Even so, Bing Hun was still completely confident that she could defeat him with ease. 'Three moves might even be too many,' she thought.

Shedding her contempt, Bing Hun didn't dare to be the least bit careless. She immediately used the martial art, Ice Soul Meteor Burst. As one of the Bing Family's most powerful Martial Arts, countless Ice Cones instantly erupted.

As for Long Ao, he didn't dare let his guard down either. His opponent was a Unity Martial Artist, after all, and a powerhouse ranked twentieth on the Hundred Battles Ranking. 'The slightest mistake will mean my defeat,' he knew.

The Blood-Drinking Eight Techniques—the first form, Netherworld Nine-Link Strike; the second, Ice-Sealed Heart Devourer; and the third, Sea of Blazing Flames—were layered in an instant.

The formidable Fist Force surged like ocean waves, each one stronger than the last, rolling forward with overwhelming pressure.

BANG.

Their fists collided. Both grunted and were thrown back, each stumbling ten steps before managing to stop.

This time, Bing Hun was utterly stunned. A Unity Martial Artist, ranked twentieth on the Hundred Battles Ranking, had just fought a Fusion Martial Artist to a standstill. If she weren't experiencing it herself, she would never have believed it.

"Long Ao, I'm reluctant to admit it, but your strength is truly immense. I can say with certainty that once your Cultivation reaches the Unity Realm, you will dominate the entire Innate Realm with ease."

Dominate the entire Innate Realm with ease.

Coming from Bing Hun—a Unity Martial Artist ranked twentieth on the Hundred Battles Ranking—these words carried immense weight.

"Long Ao, let's end this quickly. If you can withstand my Ice Soul Nine-Link Strike, I'll concede defeat."

Long Ao nodded. He knew what she meant.

They were in the middle of a battlefield, after all. A protracted fight would be troublesome if it attracted the attention of other Martial Artists.

The Ice Soul Nine-Link Strike was the Bing Family's highest-level Martial Art, far superior to her other techniques. It was also the strongest move Bing Hun could execute.

Bing Hun knew that if she used her Ice Soul Nine-Link Strike and still couldn't defeat him, the outcome of the battle would be obvious.

And with that, they both moved again.

For the Ice Soul Nine-Link Strike, Bing Hun gathered all her power into her hands. Each palm strike was stronger than the last, and with all nine layered together, the power grew exponentially. The principle was actually similar to Long Ao's own Netherworld Nine-Link Strike.

Long Ao didn't hold back either. He knew that not using his full strength would be a sign of disrespect—not just to a fellow Martial Artist, but to a friend.

For that very reason, Long Ao had already deployed his Soul-Sealing Seal before he even attacked.

The unfailingly accurate Soul-Sealing Seal silently entered Bing Hun's body and began to corrode her soul.

Startled, Bing Hun's Ice Soul Nine-Link Strike was abruptly interrupted, its power cut in half. Seizing the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Long Ao shot forward from the left at an unbelievable angle.

His terrifying Fist Force arrived before he did.

However, Long Ao's fists stopped just centimeters from Bing Hun's body.

He retracted his fists and stepped back. The victor of this battle had been decided.

After struggling to neutralize the force invading her body, Bing Hun seemed to find the reality hard to accept. Still, she nodded and said, "Long Ao, you win. But I'd still like to be your friend. Would you be willing?"

"Of course."

She held out her hand, and they clasped them tightly. Just then, footsteps sounded in the distance. They exchanged a nod and moved off to the right together.

Just as they vanished, a sinister-looking middle-aged man appeared.

Seeing the man, Long Ao looked surprised. It was none other than Long Jing—the Unity Martial Artist and Long Family expert whom Long Yili had hired him to kill. He was also one of the Thunder Empire's Envoys.

Whether from the Flame Empire or the Thunder Empire, all twenty Envoys acted alone. After all, acquiring more Soul Orders was a path to fame throughout the Two Great Empires, and perhaps even the entire Celestial State.

"Brother Long, you know him?"

Long Ao nodded. He had a good impression of Bing Hun, so he told her about his deal with Long Yili. After hearing the story, Bing Hun smiled. "A single Ten-Thousand-Year Blood Ganoderma to kill a Unity Martial Artist? Brother Long, you got a raw deal."

Long Ao just smiled without saying anything.

"Brother Long, forgive me for being blunt, but it seems unwise for you to kill Long Jing under these circumstances."

Long Ao nodded. "I've already looked into Long Jing's character. I'll be exacting justice."

"What will you do if the Thunder Empire and the Long Family come after you?"

Before Long Ao could reply, Bing Hun continued, "Brother Long, why don't I kill him for you?"

"That's not right."

"Brother Long, just listen. Friends don't keep score over things like this. Unless... you don't consider me a friend."

Long Ao gave Bing Hun a long, searching look before finally nodding. 'She's right,' he thought. 'It really isn't appropriate for me to be the one to do this.' He had already investigated Long Jing. If the man had been decent, Long Ao would have returned the Ten-Thousand-Year Blood Ganoderma to Long Yili. But the truth was that Long Jing was no good. In a way, this was still exacting justice.

Before Long Ao could even react, Bing Hun's figure shot forward.

"Who's there?"

Seeing the woman who had suddenly appeared, Long Jing was startled for a moment, then a cold sneer spread across his face. "Well, if it isn't Miss Bing Hun. It seems my luck isn't half bad today."

"Long Jing, cut the crap. Are you going to kill yourself, or do I have to do it for you?"

"Hahaha!" Long Jing laughed as if he'd just heard the funniest joke in the world. A lecherous grin appeared on his face. "It's been a while since I've used my Yin Yang Replenishment. Bing Hun, your strength is decent. If I were to harvest your Yin, my power might see a great leap. If you offer yourself up willingly, I can spare your life."

"Vile."

"Vile?"

Long Jing was the most sinister member of the Long Family. He cultivated the extremely malicious Yin Yang Replenishing Skill. In truth, such a Martial Art could be mutually beneficial if used righteously. But once it strayed onto a crooked path, it became a despicable art of harming others for one's own gain, scorned by all.

"Bing Hun, a wise woman knows when to yield. I hope you'll be smart about this. Besides, don't all you women enjoy this sort of thing? Don't worry, I'll make sure you enjoy it. Hahaha, hahaha!"

"Shameless! Vile!" Bing Hun's body shot forward in an instant, her expression turning utterly grim. As a genius of the Bing Family, when had anyone ever dared to speak to her like that?

Long Jing was over forty years old. So, even though his Cultivation had broken through to the Unity Realm, he was too old to contend for a spot on the Hundred Battles Ranking. That didn't mean he wasn't powerful, however. Otherwise, he wouldn't be acting with such confidence.
