Chapter 190: Wang Tianshuang's Murderous Intent
"It's all your fault! You made me look like a fool in front of Xiaoliu. It's all your fault, all your fault!" After her secretary left the office, Chu Yan sat on a nearby sofa, held in Zhou Fan's arms. Her face flushed red as she chided him.
"My fault, my fault!" Zhou Fan admitted, while one of his large, mischievous hands slipped inside Chu Yan's blouse, making her even more flustered.
"Stop messing around for a second. First, tell me: have you missed me all this time? Have you been secretly seeing other women behind my back? Did you completely forget you have a wife?" Chu Yan tried to stop Zhou Fan's roaming hand, but she was no match for his strength. She could only pinch his ear and question him in a soft, coquettish voice.
"Hmph, don't think I don't know you've been getting close to Gu Feifei. If I had known that little minx was the young lady of the Jiang Province's Gu Family, I never would have agreed to let her join the company in the first place!"
"Oh, right, honey. A while ago, my aunt came back with Chu Yifeng's head. After kowtowing once to Grandpa, she left. She said she was leaving the Chu Family for good to return to *her* own Chu Family."
"Oh, honey, so much has happened while you were away! The company is getting bigger and bigger, and the laboratory is already under construction. You'll never guess where I chose to build it!"
Sitting on Zhou Fan's lap, Chu Yan seemed to have an endless stream of things to say. She looked a bit disheveled, but how could she not, with Zhou Fan's mischievous hands all over her?
The two of them cuddled affectionately on the sofa, wrapped in each other's arms, until it was time to leave work. Then they went grocery shopping and returned home to cook together.
After dinner, Chu Yan insisted on dragging Zhou Fan to the villa's rooftop to watch the stars. They stayed until she couldn't take his "bullying" anymore and begged him to go back to their room.
After Chu Yan had fallen fast asleep, Zhou Fan picked up his phone for a look. He frowned slightly, feeling like he had forgotten something, but he couldn't quite recall what it was.
"Boss, the situation with the Chen Family doesn't look good. It seems Chen Feng has completely lost his voice in the family now." It wasn't until a message from Zhang Lei came in that it dawned on Zhou Fan. He lightly slapped his forehead.
'Crap,' he thought. 'I think I promised Chen Yao I'd take her to the Chen Group this afternoon!'
He considered sending a message to Chen Yao to say he had something to do and forgot, but then he reconsidered. 'It's already past two in the morning. I'll just tell her after sunrise. She's probably already asleep.'
Meanwhile, in her dorm at Divan, Chen Yao tossed and turned, unable to sleep. She muttered nonstop, and if one were to listen closely, they would find she was cursing Zhou Fan's name.
Besides Zhou Fan and Chen Yao, many other people were also awake.
"Young Master, Zhou Fan returned to Nanjiang City today. Should we go find him after daybreak? This matter has dragged on for a long time. The people in the Capital City are getting impatient, especially the First Madam. She's been calling almost every day, asking what on earth we're thinking." Inside a suite at the Manyun Hotel, Uncle Fu spoke respectfully to Wang Tianshuang.
"Tell the family the truth: Zhou Fan hasn't been in Nanjiang City for a while and just got back. We'll find a time tomorrow to go and demand an explanation from him." Wang Tianshuang stood at the window with his hands behind his back, his reflection in the glass showing a face devoid of any emotion.
"Young Master, the First Madam's meaning is that she wants us to..." Uncle Fu hesitated before continuing, but Wang Tianshuang cut him off before he could finish.
"Uncle Fu, you and Auntie Fu have been with me for ten years now, haven't you?" Wang Tianshuang still didn't turn around, but his icy words stopped the older man.
"To answer the Young Master, it has been ten years and eight months. Almost eleven years," Uncle Fu replied, slightly taken aback. He didn't understand why Wang Tianshuang would suddenly ask such a thing.
"Then do you know why the servants by my side are replaced in batches, almost every three months?" Wang Tianshuang continued to ask.
"Because... because they were ignorant and offended the Young Master!" At that moment, Uncle Fu seemed to guess Wang Tianshuang's meaning. His voice trembled slightly. Beside him, Auntie Fu also hurriedly bowed, not daring to show any emotion.
The husband and wife both knew very well that the servants around Wang Tianshuang, to put it nicely, were "replaced." To put it more directly, they had all been killed by him.
"And do you know why the two of you have been able to stay by my side for so long?" Wang Tianshuang slowly turned around. He picked up a nearby glass, took a light sip of the red wine inside, and stared at the two of them, who kept their heads bowed, with a smirk that wasn't a smile.
"We're sorry, Young Master! We're sorry! It was our mistake, we shouldn't have spoken out of turn!" Hearing Wang Tianshuang's words, if the pair still didn't understand his meaning, they would have lived all these years for nothing. They immediately dropped to their knees in terror, kowtowing repeatedly while begging for their lives.
They knew Wang Tianshuang found them meddlesome and was now thinking of killing them.
