The Ultimate Devil's Magnificent CEO

Chapter 141: Not Crying Anymore?

"What is wrong with you? Why do you keep staring at me? Don't get any ideas. I have a wife—more than one, in fact!" Zhou Fan snapped, noticing from the corner of his eye that Bai Zhi was staring at him.

"That man just now... was he the captain of Wolf Fang, Fan?" Extreme Shadow seemed not to have heard Zhou Fan, her gaze still fixed dazedly on him.

"Well, look at you, you even know Fan? Guess he's not as good at keeping secrets as I thought!" Bai Zhi rolled her eyes at Zhou Fan's sarcastic tone, rendered speechless.

'What did he mean by that?'

'Was someone of her caliber not worthy of knowing who Fan was?'

"Is Extreme Shadow one of your subordinates?" Bai Zhi took a deep breath, swallowing her annoyance for the sake of the commission—and to confirm the suspicion growing in her mind.

"Stop guessing. I am the Nether King. The one who made you cry with a single slap all those years ago. The one in the mask." Zhou Fan shot Bai Zhi a look. 'There's really something wrong with her head. If you want to ask something, just ask. Why all this beating around the bush? What a pain.'

But what Zhou Fan hadn't expected was that after he spoke, the shock and amazement he anticipated never came. Instead, Bai Zhi just sat there, dumbstruck, as if she were in a trance. Gradually, tears began to stream from her eyes.

"Hey now, if I remember right, your name is Bai Zhi, correct? What are you crying for?" Zhou Fan was baffled. 'All I did was say I'm the Nether King, so why is she crying?'

'What is this reaction?'

But no matter what Zhou Fan said, Bai Zhi remained silent. In fact, she began to cry even harder, until finally, she slumped forward and began sobbing uncontrollably.

The crying started to get on Zhou Fan's nerves. He turned on the music, found the song 'The Most Dazzling Folk Style,' and hit play.

Instantly, a cheerful melody filled the car, even drifting out the open windows, making them the coolest thing on the road into Jiang Province.

Bai Zhi was stunned. 'What is wrong with this guy?'

'Can't he see I'm crying right now?'

'It's bad enough he won't comfort me, but he's actually playing music? And if he had to play music, did it have to be such a cheerful song?'

"Done crying? Come on, sing with me!" Seeing that it was having an effect, Zhou Fan even started to sing along loudly, "The vast horizon is my love..."

However, Zhou Fan's singing was truly unbearable to listen to. Bai Zhi couldn't stop frowning. It was one thing for the guy to sing by himself, but he was actually trying to drag her into singing along!

Amid the cheerful music, the car arrived in Jiang Province. Bai Zhi had stopped crying and had once again put on her cold, unapproachable mask.

"Mr. Zhou, the boss will be here tonight. He told us to take you to the hotel to rest first." Shortly after, as Zhou Fan parked in front of a hotel, Lao San from Wolf Fang approached. His previous injuries had completely healed after Zhou Fan's last treatment.

"Thank you."

'Zhou Fan knew Fan would never ignore something like this. Even knowing that coming here was extremely dangerous, he would still come.'

"Don't tell me all of Wolf Fang came, did you?" Zhou Fan asked in a low voice as he entered the hotel, noticing Wolf Fang members disguised as staff in uniforms.

"Not everyone, but close. Aside from Xiaojiu and a few men left in Nanjiang City, and some of our brothers on other missions, the rest are here. Sixty-two of us in total," Lao San answered honestly. There was nothing to hide. Fan had told them that while they were here to help Zhou Fan against Blake and his men, they were also defending the honor of Wolf Fang.

Once in his room, Zhou Fan stood by the window, his heart heavy as he watched the bustling crowds below.

After changing his clothes, Zhou Fan left the hotel.

Seeing Zhou Fan leave the hotel alone from her room upstairs, Bai Zhi ignored her injuries and rushed out to follow him, only to be stopped in the lobby by Lao San.

"Why are you stopping me? He hired me to protect him!" Bai Zhi glared angrily at Lao San. If it weren't for her injuries, she would have decked him.

"You may be in Mr. Zhou's employ, but your identity is sensitive. We'd appreciate it if you would stay put in the hotel until he returns." Lao San stared straight ahead, completely ignoring Bai Zhi's glare. 'She might be strong, but with so many of us here, what's there to fear from one injured woman?'

"I want to see your boss. I want to see Fan!" Bai Zhi said, resigning herself to the situation. She found a sofa and sat down, addressing Lao San again.

"Alright. The boss will arrive before sunset." Lao San nodded, then resumed his post by the door.

Zhou Fan drove to an office building and smiled as he looked up at the gleaming sign. He took out his phone, snapped a selfie with the sign in the background, and sent it.

Less than three minutes later, a figure rushed out of the building. She wore a white shirt and had her long hair tied back, looking every bit the sharp, professional woman.

The moment Zhou Fan stepped out of the car, she saw him. Her face lit up, and she broke into a trot, running toward him. Ignoring the stares of the people around them, she threw herself into his arms.
