The Ultimate Devil's Magnificent CEO

Chapter 139: You Don't Keep Your Word

Last words?

Extreme Shadow wasn't angry. When he received the mission from Ye Fei to kill Zhou Fan, he never thought he would succeed. After all, he didn't think he was much stronger than Viper.

"If I die, and one day you make it back to the Netherworld King's Hall, Instructor, please take care of my wife and kids!" Extreme Shadow said with a bitter smile. He was about to order the attack, but Zhou Fan stopped him.

"Hold on, hold on. Your opponent isn't me. See that incredibly fierce chick back there? She's your opponent. Number 9 from Dark Night, sent by Lorne specifically to protect me!"

Zhou Fan pointed behind him to the incredibly valiant Bai Zhi, who had already killed a dozen men, and spoke with a smile. Although he didn't intentionally raise his voice, Zhou Fan knew that his words had been heard by the person hiding on the mountain.

That... was more than enough!

Even if Number 9 died right now, Zhou Fan wouldn't be losing out on his twenty million.

"Dark Night? The Instructor is as brilliant as ever. Your methods are as impressive as they've always been!" Extreme Shadow stared at Number 9, who was cutting through his men as if they were nothing. He was momentarily stunned, then gave a meaningful smile. "Alright. Since the Instructor has spoken, we'll kill her first!"

At Extreme Shadow's command, the twenty-odd men ran right past Zhou Fan and charged toward Bai Zhi.

Bai Zhi sensed the people coming from behind and felt a headache coming on. She had thought this was just a simple revenge killing. Even with the large number of assailants, she was confident she could handle it. But she never expected these people to be so strong.

In the midst of the slaughter, Bai Zhi saw Zhou Fan leaning calmly against the car door, smoking a cigarette. For some reason, a feeling of déjà vu washed over her, as if that silhouette had appeared in her memory before.

PFT!

Just as her mind wandered, Extreme Shadow struck. He wielded a dagger in each hand, one of which slashed across Bai Zhi's abdomen. Blood instantly gushed out.

"Number 9 from Dark Night? You're not all you're cracked up to be. How dare you lose focus in the face of a deadly enemy!"

"You're courting death!" Bai Zhi was enraged. Proud by nature, she couldn't believe she'd been sneak-attacked and then insulted. She immediately abandoned her attacks on the others and turned to kill Extreme Shadow with her full strength.

But Extreme Shadow didn't meet her head-on. Instead, he used his speed to constantly weave around her.

As the head of the intelligence division, few knew that Extreme Shadow wasn't just skilled at gathering information. His combat skills were in no way inferior to Viper's, especially his speed. In his early years, he had been responsible for delivering a great deal of intel across the desert, relying solely on his two legs.

'If nothing changes, she'll be killed by Extreme Shadow and his men in less than three minutes,' Zhou Fan thought. 'There's no doubt about it, unless she can find Extreme Shadow's weakness.'

He glanced at the mountain forest not far away, then dropped into a crouch. His speed exploded to its absolute limit as he instantly dashed forward.

The person lurking in the mountain forest saw Zhou Fan suddenly running toward him. Without a second thought, he hastily sent out the information he had just overheard, then turned to flee.

But how could this person be a match for Zhou Fan? In less than two minutes, Zhou Fan was right behind him. He kicked off the ground with explosive force, launching himself forward. His arms shot out like a pair of pincers, instantly locking around the man's waist.

After tackling him to the ground, Zhou Fan immediately clamped one hand over the man's mouth to prevent him from biting down on a poison capsule. With his other hand, he quickly snatched the dagger from the man's belt and pressed it against his neck.

"Speak. Who sent you?"

The entire sequence of moves was executed in one smooth motion, without a single wasted action, as if rehearsed countless times.

"Kill me if you want, I won't talk!" The man tried to struggle but found he couldn't move an inch. He gave up, putting on an air of defiance, as if he'd rather die than speak.

SLICE!

But while that act might work on others, it was useless against Zhou Fan.

The moment the words left his mouth, Zhou Fan flicked his wrist. The dagger sliced off one of the man's ears. He then rested the blade against the man's other ear. "Are you sure you won't talk? You dared to come here, so you should know who I am. Do you really think I don't have ways to make you reveal your identity?"

Zhou Fan's expression didn't change in the slightest as he cut off the man's ear. It was as if he had casually snipped a blade of grass while walking.

"I... I'll talk! It was Ye Fei! Ye Fei sent me!"

But, as the last word fell, his remaining ear was also sliced off by Zhou Fan.

AHHH...

A bloodcurdling scream echoed through the mountain forest, startling the birds into flight and sending nearby small animals scattering in terror.

"Nether King, you went back on your word! I already told you!"

"Tell me the truth. Otherwise, where do you think I'll cut you next?"

Zhou Fan patted the man's contorted face with the flat of the dagger, then slowly slid the blade down, stopping it between the man's legs.

Instantly, the man shuddered in fright, his body going rigid. 'This damn demon Zhou Fan!' he cursed inwardly.

"It really was Ye Fei! But he only sent me to secretly observe who your helpers were. Then that bitch Zhao Ya found me. She told me that if Extreme Shadow and his men succeeded, I should find a chance to secretly poison Extreme Shadow. If they failed, I was to forget about it!"
