Chapter 99: I Am a College Student
"Honey, you know… I was scared to death today. I was so afraid that if…" On the sofa, after they had both washed up, Chu Yan snuggled into Zhou Fan's arms and whispered, "I'd already made up my mind. If that scumbag had actually… violated me, I would have killed myself."
"Don't say such things. You're my wife, how could you even think about suicide? We need to hit them back!"
Zhou Fan's heart ached. He gently stroked Chu Yan's hair, thinking, 'Maybe I should change the plan. If our enemies target Chu Yan when I'm not prepared, the consequences will be unthinkable!'
Zhou Fan stayed up talking with Chu Yan for a long time. Before they knew it, dawn was breaking, and Chu Yan had finally fallen into a sweet sleep.
When the two of them woke up, it was already noon. Chu Yan chided Zhou Fan for keeping her up all night talking, but at the same time, she clung to him like an octopus, playfully asking him to help her get dressed.

"A secretary? You know someone who could be a secretary? Spill it, where did you meet this girl?" Chu Yan's beautiful eyes fixed on Zhou Fan. She hadn't asked what happened to her last secretary; she trusted that Zhou Fan had his own ways of handling things.
"My disciple. My one and only disciple." Zhou Fan slowly told Chu Yan about Xu Ruonan's background. He had decided on this last night. With Xu Ruonan's current strength, while she wasn't overwhelmingly powerful, she was more than capable of handling common assassins. Besides, Xu Ruonan couldn't stay at Divan forever; she needed a public-facing identity.
"Well, I suppose that could work, but she doesn't sound like a secretary. She wouldn't know the first thing about the work!" Chu Yan wrinkled her nose, then continued, "How about this: let's have your disciple be my executive assistant. That way, she can protect me and learn something from me. As for the secretary position, I can just hire a new one."
"Don't worry, honey. I'll be very careful with my choice this time!" Chu Yan added, trying to reassure Zhou Fan.
So, after dropping Chu Yan off at her company, Zhou Fan drove straight to Divan.
"Boss, Ruonan is training out back," Qian Rong reported as soon as Zhou Fan found him, bypassing Chen Yao entirely. "The Traceless Squad now has an initial roster of twenty, including the men you brought over from Wolf Fang."
"How many are combat-ready and meet the minimum standard?"
"Only nine right now, including Ruonan and the introverted twins you specifically pointed out, Boss."
As they spoke, Zhou Fan and Qian Rong reached the training grounds. Watching the members train diligently under the guidance of Qian Kun and Qian Hui, Zhou Fan nodded with satisfaction.
"Nannan, come over here!" Zhou Fan beckoned to Xu Ruonan.
"Master, did you come to see me? Is there a mission?"
"Yes, a very important mission that only you can carry out." Zhou Fan nodded, then motioned for Qian Rong to gather the qualified members. "You've all just barely met the minimum standard," he said to them. "There's little point in you training here any longer. Come with me. I'm taking you somewhere."
Zhou Fan left Divan immediately with the nine of them, including Xu Ruonan.
"Big Bro, where's the boss taking them?" Qian Kun walked over, a confused look on his face. "Is he going to train them himself?"
"No, the Boss doesn't have the time," Qian Rong shook his head, voicing his suspicion. "He's probably handing them over to Ying Yi and his people."
"Huh? Those guys… Then our men are in for a world of pain!" Qian Kun flinched, clearly terrified of the name Ying Yi.
"Alright, you all can get out now. Head straight down that path; someone will be there to receive you. You'll be training here for a week. When I see you again, I expect to be impressed!"
The car had stopped in front of a row of bungalows. Zhou Fan pointed to a small path as he spoke to the twins and the others.
Without a second thought, they got out of the car.
"Nannan, now for your mission…" Zhou Fan explained as he drove Xu Ruonan toward Fenghua International.
"Don't worry, Master. I will absolutely protect her. You can go handle your business without any worries!" Xu Ruonan vowed. She knew Zhou Fan was trusting her with Chu Yan's safety, and she absolutely could not fail him.
"Remember to learn a few things while you're there, too."
"Why?"
"Times have changed. You need to know things to get by."
"But I went to college! I just... didn't officially graduate."
"Enough with the backtalk. So what if you went to college? Look at all the delivery drivers out there; I bet plenty of them went to college, too. It's tough finding a job nowadays!"
