The Ultimate Devil's Magnificent CEO

Chapter 77: Killing by the Numbers

"Boss, that guy's heading for the car. The person inside… she's the one the Young Master specifically wants!" one of the bodyguards whispered to the burly, six-foot-three man beside him as they watched One-Eye's advance.

"Don't move," the burly man said, shaking his head and keeping his voice as low as possible. "We can't afford to mess with these people. If we can't get Chu Yan, the worst we'll get when we go back is a chewing out. But if we piss off these big shots, we could lose our lives!"

One-Eye had now crept near the car. He saw Chu Yan huddled in the passenger seat, her legs drawn up, her small face etched with worry. He signaled for his men to be ready to move, then rolled right up to the car door.

He yanked the door open and reached for Chu Yan. 'Grabbing her will definitely create an opportunity for us!' Still, he knew it was unrealistic to expect Zhou Fan to surrender just for one woman.

But in the very instant his left hand seized Chu Yan's arm, a cold light flashed before his eyes!

Almost instinctively, One-Eye pulled his hand back, realizing he'd walked into an ambush.

SPURT!

Blood sprayed as One-Eye rolled four or five times, putting a good five meters between himself and the car. His expression remained unchanged as he glanced at his severed left palm, now lying on the ground. He quickly pulled out a small vial of powdered medicine and poured it onto the stump.

His eyes locked on the car door, One-Eye couldn't believe it. 'There's another expert here besides Zhou Fan? An expert who could sever my hand in a single strike, even in an ambush!'

'An ordinary person, even if they laid an ambush, would at most have managed to injure me. It would be impossible for them to have such explosive power and speed in that instant!'

THUD.

Just then, a leg stepped out of the car and onto the ground, followed by a figure One-Eye never expected to see.

"How are you here?" One-Eye stared, completely shocked. This man should have been on the other side, but here he was.

"It's been a year, and you still haven't improved at all. I've told you many times: seeing isn't always believing."

The person who had appeared was none other than Zhou Fan. In his hand, he held a dagger that glinted with a dark light, its tip dripping with blood.

At that moment, the other members noticed that Zhou Fan was no longer behind the tree. When they turned, they saw that One-Eye had lost a hand and hurriedly swarmed forward.

"Looks like you've recruited quite a few people this past year." Zhou Fan glanced at the twelve men surrounding him, a contemptuous smirk playing on his lips. "It's just that their skills are too poor. All quantity, no quality."

"You don't still think you're our instructor, do you? Lecturing us here... I never thought that after a year, the once-invincible Nether King would have to resort to a sneak attack to deal with small fries like us!"

One-Eye slowly got to his feet, a sinister light flickering in his eyes. But he didn't dare take them off the dagger in Zhou Fan's hand—that solid black dagger, shimmering with a deep, cold light.

"To think, the ambush a year ago not only failed to kill you, but you even managed to get away with your weapon. But today, it all ends. You are fated to die by our hands!"

Dark-Gleam.

The dagger in Zhou Fan's hand was named Dark-Gleam. It was the weapon Zhou Fan had always used, accompanying him through countless battles, big and small, having drunk the blood of innumerable foes.

"That's right. It's been a year since I fought alongside this old partner of mine. As the first lucky ones I've met since then, I will personally send you on your way with Dark-Gleam."

Zhou Fan's palm gently caressed the dagger. As he finished speaking, he looked up, killing intent already blazing in his eyes.

In the next instant, as if by some unspoken agreement, both sides moved at once.

One-Eye was well aware of Zhou Fan's power, so he didn't dare be careless. He also knew the gap in skill between his twelve men and Zhou Fan. So, even with a severed hand, he took the initiative to charge forward, hoping he could hold Zhou Fan off and create an opportunity for the others.

But how could he possibly stand against a Zhou Fan whose strength had returned to its peak?

In the first moment of their clash, Zhou Fan's dagger left three deep wounds in One-Eye's body. At the same time, without losing any momentum, Zhou Fan kicked off the ground with his left foot and charged toward the nearest assassin.

SHLICK!

Just as expected, in the instant he brushed past him, a thin gash appeared on the man's neck. He collapsed, a look of disbelief on his face, his life already extinguished.

"One."

Zhou Fan's indifferent voice rang out as his figure, without pausing, shot toward the next target.

"Shit! Don't fight him head-on! Use your assassination training!" Seeing the scene and hearing Zhou Fan's count, One-Eye's heart sank.

That simple count—a number for every kill. When he fought alongside Zhou Fan, he'd never thought much of it. But now, standing on the opposite side, One-Eye finally realized what a devastating blow it was to their morale.

Suddenly, One-Eye's gaze snapped back to the car. 'There's still just a woman in there!'
