The Ultimate Devil's Magnificent CEO

Chapter 218: Cyan Frost and Parting Sorrow

"Enough nonsense. State your purpose for coming here!" Zhou Fan couldn't be bothered to waste words with Cyan Dragon. It would be utterly ridiculous if Cyan Dragon didn't know who killed those two Elders.

"My purpose? It's simple. I'm here to take one of your arms as revenge for Vermilion Bird!" Cyan Dragon offered a slight smile, but a profound killing intent was hidden beneath it.

"Draw your sword. Otherwise, taking my arm will be rather difficult," Zhou Fan said, unfazed. Given the relationship between Cyan Dragon and Vermilion Bird, it wasn't hard to guess he was here for revenge.

"In that case, I'll see for myself just how you managed to sever Vermilion Bird's arm!" Cyan Dragon roared. With a single step, he crossed five or six meters. A longsword shimmering with cyan light appeared in his hand. Like frost itself, it carried a chill that could freeze the soul as he thrust it toward Zhou Fan!

Zhou Fan activated the Pupil of Slaughter almost instantly—the name he had given his eyes, which could see through anything.

Even with the Pupil of Slaughter, which halved Cyan Dragon's perceived speed, he was still incredibly fast!

Raising his Li Hen Sword, Zhou Fan chose not to dodge. Instead, he met the incoming attack with a thrust of his own.

SCREEEEECH...

The two longswords scraped past each other, their blades grinding together with a piercing shriek. Sparks flew, clearly visible in the night.

They were getting dangerously close; at this rate, both of their sword arms would be crippled. Cyan Dragon snorted coldly. With a flick of his wrist, he slapped the flat of his blade against Zhou Fan's Li Hen Sword.

The two instantly broke apart and stood facing one another, gazes locked. That single exchange was enough to gauge the other's strength.

"Do you understand now? That's how I severed Vermilion Bird's arm!" Zhou Fan declared with a proud smile, a fierce fighting spirit igniting in his eyes. He may have been at a disadvantage in that brief exchange, 'but so what?'

'If you want a fight, you'll get one!'

"You're certainly much stronger than before, but it's not enough!" Cyan Dragon snorted. With a flourish, he slashed his longsword through the air toward Zhou Fan. Instantly, an invisible wave of Sword Qi shot toward him!

In the past, a strike like this would have certainly hit Zhou Fan. But things were different now. Ever since his fight with Vermilion Bird, he had gained a considerable amount of Inner Strength. Moreover, knowing that Cyan Dragon was stronger than Vermilion Bird, he was already on high alert.

And so, the very instant Cyan Dragon's attack launched, Zhou Fan ducked low, planting his left hand on the ground to narrowly evade the wave of Sword Qi. Then, pushing off the ground with his palm, he launched himself into the air and shot both feet toward his opponent.

Cyan Dragon seemed surprised that Zhou Fan had dodged the attack, hesitating for a fraction of a second. As Zhou Fan's kick arrived, he could only clench his left hand into a fist and punch out to meet the incoming feet.

BANG!

A muffled impact rang out. Cyan Dragon felt a numbing sensation travel up his arm, and his body swayed slightly. Seeing Zhou Fan flying backward, he took another step to pursue, once again raising his longsword.

But even though Zhou Fan was still in mid-air, he had anticipated Cyan Dragon's attack. In a move that defied physics, he lightly tapped the ground with his longsword, causing his body to spin a full circle in the air.

The next second, as Cyan Dragon raised his sword to charge again, Zhou Fan flicked his wrist, and a jet-black wave of Sword Qi burst forth!

"Sword Qi? Your Inner Strength is already sufficient to project Sword Qi!" Cyan Dragon was inwardly shocked. He had guessed Zhou Fan must have cultivated Inner Strength, but he never imagined it was already strong enough to be projected as Sword Qi. No longer daring to be arrogant, he hastily brought his sword back to block in front of him.

CLANG!

With the sharp ring of metal on metal, even someone as incredibly powerful as Cyan Dragon was staggered by the wave of Sword Qi. He swayed and took half a step back before managing to steady himself.

Forcibly suppressing the turbulent energy stirred within him by the blow, Cyan Dragon looked at Zhou Fan, and for the first time, true battle lust appeared in his eyes. It was the kind of respect and fighting spirit reserved only for an opponent of equal standing.

Zhou Fan landed softly, the energy in his own body roiling, but he remained calm. He pointed his longsword toward the night sky and stared proudly at Cyan Dragon. "Is it enough now?"

"Impressive. Your rate of growth is truly astonishing. Now I believe you have the strength to sever Vermilion Bird's arm. In that case... let's have a real fight!" A hint of excitement surfaced in Cyan Dragon's eyes. He angled his sword tip toward the ground. His cyan robes fluttered ceaselessly in the night wind, as if even his clothes couldn't wait to join the battle.

"This sword is named Cyan Frost. It is three feet long, an heirloom passed down through my family. It has been with me for many years, and has never met its match!" Cyan Dragon slowly raised the Cyan Frost Sword. His voice was soft, yet carried immense weight, each word seeming to detonate right beside Zhou Fan's ear.

"This sword is named Li Hen. It's five feet long. My wifey gave it to me!" Zhou Fan slowly leveled his longsword, its tip aimed straight at Cyan Dragon. His words, however, made the corner of Cyan Dragon's mouth twitch.
