Chapter 161: The Currency Mystery And The System’s Confusion!
Despite Popi’s curiosity, Neve could not tell her what he had in mind.
If he told Popi that he suspected Maren was from the same world that he came from, if he told her that he was going to use that suspicion to get close to Maren, Popi was going to crash out and find every way to stop Neve. She would argue with him. She would tell him it was too dangerous. She would refuse to let him pursue this plan.
And she would be right to be concerned.
Neve was being careless. He was not thinking before doing anything, which was definitely not recommended for someone in his situation. But he just did not know what to do. He was desperate. He was running out of time. He needed answers.
If Maren was a reincarnator like him, maybe Maren would know about those mysterious voices in the watch room. Maybe Maren would know about the system. Maybe Maren would have answers about how to go back to their original worlds.
Maren was someone who could relate more with whatever was going through with him. After all, they were both dragged to this world without their consent.
He clenched his fist on his lap, feeling the tension building inside him. He had gotten so used to being in this beast world that his memory of his former world was already fading gradually. The details were becoming blurry. The faces of people he used to know were becoming harder to remember.
But if he was given a chance, if there was any way to return, he would like to go back. He would like to see his original world again. He would like to remember who he was before all of this.
"You’re not thinking of doing something dangerous, right Neve?" Popi asked, clearly suspicious of his sudden excitement.
"What? No!" Neve said quickly, shrugging with a small smile creeping onto his face. He tried to look casual and innocent. "I’m just going to rest a little. I’m tired from all this moving and the treatment work."
Popi seemed to accept his explanation.
"I’ll ask them to bring more fruits for you," she said, already turning toward the exit. "You need to eat well. The cubs need nutrition."
"Thank you, Popi!" He waved.
She waved back without looking back, just a small dismissive wave. Neve watched her leave the room. He waited until her footsteps faded completely before he sat up and pulled the system screen in front of him.
He had been excited about accessing the market since he leveled up. The idea of finally getting ramen, real ramen with proper noodles and broth, had kept him going through the difficult days.
"I can’t wait to buy some ramen," he grinned to himself, rubbing his palms together in anticipation.
He tapped on the screen where it said [View Market Details].
Another screen opened and he immediately frowned.
[For host to fully use market, currency must be paid!]
Neve grabbed his hair and cursed loudly. He should have known that it wouldn’t be easy to access market. This fucker of a system would surely try to make everything difficult for him.
"Currency? How the hell am I to use currency? I don’t have any cash here! I don’t have money or gold or anything!"
The system responded immediately.
[Currency in this world will be replaced with points. Points will be determined by the V?&we/s]
The text glitched, distorting the word "Viewers" into random symbols. Neve frowned even deeper, confusion mixed with frustration.
"Points? In my condition, I have to work hard to get those points? I hate the sound of this already. Especially the fact that it has to be decided by those filthy..." He trailed off, cursing silently and clenching his fist hard. Those people had to decide his fate. They were watching him right now and they were going to decide how his currency or point was going to be made.
Would they give him something hard or easy? Was it going to be something that’ll grant them more drama?
He took a deep breath and tried again.
"What are the points? What kind of points are we talking about here?"

[V?&we/s are taking a vote]
[Votes are being tallied]
[Result is out...]
"Shut up and just talk already!" Neve yelled at the system in frustration.
The system beeped loudly in his head..
[...]
The text continued, showing the system’s response.
[Currency: Bond Points - Earned through building relationships and intimacy with mates. Points increase with each romantic/intimate interaction and emotional connection. The V?&we/s claim it is more appropriate for the bonding and romance mechanics of them.]
Seeing that response, Neve’s jaw dropped to the ground.
His mind could barely process what he was reading. He should have suspected that they were going to ask for something like that. The viewers were voting?
The mysterious entities in the watch room were trying to decide how to structure the reward system for his missions.
And now the damn result was Bond Points. Points earned through intimacy and relationships with his mates. Points that directly tied into the bonding missions that had already been given to him.
This was insane. This was absolutely ridiculous.
’What the actual... fuck?!’
Neve stared at the screen in disbelief. The viewers, those mysterious voices that had transported him to this world and turned him into an entertainer, were actively designing the mechanics of his survival.
Bond Points. Of course. The entire story revolved around him bonding with his mates. The system was rewarding him for romance and intimacy and building relationships.
He was not just being entertained. He was part of some kind of experimental romance simulation. The viewers were actively participating in the design of his world. They were voting on the mechanics that governed his survival and his missions.
This was beyond anything he had imagined.
Even though he was to get Bond Point, how the hell was he going to do that when he didn’t have any of his bonded mate here?
