Unwritten Destiny [Yuri/Sapphic, Isekai, LitRPG]

Session X43 & 1/2 – Paranova or how I became a cartoon princess for a day (Bonus Chapter)

This was the stop in between the Hells and Shadow Falls. I wasn't going to write it, but then I had an idea that I had to play around with. Apologies for the bad verses. I know, I shouldn't quit my day job.

My head throbbed like my brain was too big for it. I massaged my forehead, fearing for a migraine. My hand looked wrong. It was... too small and more pink than it should be? I looked over at the Cerberus and burst into giggles. He was very colorful and looked like a cartoon dog.

Wait.

I looked around until I spotted a pool of water. Gazing into its reflection, I saw a young, and extremely colorful girl staring back at me. She had massive eyes and the tiniest little button nose with cute stubs for her horns. I turned and those giant eyes got even bigger. Holy shit, she had a giant ass; like pixar moms, eat your heart out amounts of cake.

"Woof! Woof, woof.

Woof?!?"

I turned back to the Hellbeast as it made the cutest little cartoon barks. All three faces scrunched up in confusion and I laughed.

"This is a strange place, I do agree.

Don't fret your nerve little guy.

You're still the fiercest pedigree,

at least we have a pretty sky."

My mouth hung open in shock after the words flowed out of me, and the entire world vibrated with molten fury, like a volcano threatening to erupt. What the fuck was that?!? Was I in a cartoon now?

Little white lines drifted passed me. My nose twitched in recognition as my mouth watered. Apple pie! I followed the wavy lines as they led me along a path. Looking around, I had landed by a pond. Fields of resplendent flowers grew wildly in every direction, until they blended into the thick forest that surrounded the pond on three sides. The path wove into the forest. The wavy lines followed the path, so I followed it as well.

The forest pressed in, surrounding me in its sounds and smells; birds chirping and leaves decaying. Fallen branches snapped under my boot and other ones, still hanging from above, brushed against my hair. I followed the wavy lines and the path as it exited the forest and led over to a house where a pie, did indeed sit, cooling in the open window; the wavy white lines wafting over top of it.

"Hello there, fair maiden.

You're new to these parts, I see.

Can I ease your burden,

perhaps, a cup of tea?"

Oh. A man with a square jaw and wavy brown hair stood beside me. He wore a tight red tunic that showed off his comically big muscles and black pants.

"Good day to you, sir.

I'm lost and new around here.

I would take some tea, sure.

Don't mind the dog, have no fear."

We both staggered as what felt like a massive earthquake rattled our bones, and shook the ground beneath us, and vibrated the very air we breathed. The Cerberus whimpered and covered its faces with both paws.

Hmm. The world nearly came unglued when I spoke. I guessed whatever magic affected this place had interacted poorly with Spell-Song Weaver. Probably, it would be best to keep my mouth shut, if at all possible. I snorted, thinking about what Paz would have to say about my ability to not verbalize every dumb thought that popped into my head.

I followed the man who looked like he could have just stepped out of an animated movie with a princess and a beast. He led me into the cottage where a woman wearing a bright blue dress, stood humming to a row of birds as she washed the dishes. The birds happily chirped along with her song.

The small house had a very cozy feel with a roaring fireplace, a little wooden table just big enough for two, and a door to the bedroom. Huh. Two beds. Well, sure wouldn't want impressionable children to get the wrong idea and damage the stork industrial complex.

"Woof?!?

Woof."

The Cerberus sat outside the window looking forlornly at the apple pie. He had a good point. That pie did look really delicious. The man made me a cup of tea while the woman cut me a slice of pie. It was great pie. They started asking me questions and... it became awkward. I did my best to nod and smile along, but he knew I could talk; I had already said something to him. It also didn't help that the Hellbeast ate the rest of the pie while we weren't looking.

Finally, the man stood up and stormed out. We sat around staring at each other in uncomfortable silence. Eventually, the man returned with several other men, including a stooped over man with a beard nearly dragging on the floor who had to be at least a hundred years old.

"Who are you, young lady?

We demand answers at this time.

Your arrival was rather shady.

Tell us now or enact a crime."

Whelp, that went south quickly. Nothing for it, I guess. Time to start a fire and leg it out the window.

"Twinkle twinkle, little star,

how I wonder what you are.

Up above the world so high,

like a diamond in the sky."

Something something. Huh, I guess I don't actually know the rest of the lyrics. Kinda like the one about dogs. That one gets super weird after the famous line everyone knows. There's fleas and derogatory words for dogs and what not. So anyways, the house was on fire, the forest was on fire, and there was a giant crack in the sky. The Cerberus and I were running for our lives as a group of villagers carrying torches chased us through the dark forest.

I bent over, heaving for breath and choking on the smoke. Great, so this was another place I could never come back to, just like New Jersey. The Hellbeast and I looked at each other and both nodded in silent understanding. It knelt down, allowing me to climb up onto its back. I glanced back at the angry crowd and gave them a wave. The black tail rattled as I shook it and the world disappeared with a crack.
