Chapter 3: Someone Peed His Pants
"This young man here, this place is not a scam," Donape said softly and politely with a gentle bow.
He initially wanted to lash out, but upon seeing the young man’s appearance, his attitude immediately changed. In his heart, a potential stupid customer had already appeared in the midst of his misery.
"Are you the owner of this place? Well, whatever. This mofo doesn’t care about scams or robberies. Just show me what your shop does," the young man said in a flat tone.
He was shorter than Donape—standing at 170 cm compared to Donape’s 178 cm. But that didn’t make him feel small.
Instead, he kept puffing his chest forward to showcase his brave, cool, and nonchalant attitude.
Donape’s eye twitched. ’This mofo, that mofo. So outdated. Ah, whatever. As long as he has money, it doesn’t matter whether he’s a dumbass or a sycophant.’
"Yes, I’m the shopkeeper. Would you like to go inside?" he offered humbly and politely.
The young man shifted his gaze from the worn exterior and exquisite nameplate to the unremarkable Donape.
After scrutinizing him, he stepped forward to enter the Origins VR Cafe. But before he could, he was stopped by the shout of an elderly man.
"Young Master Baek! Wait!"
A tall, thin, blond-haired elderly man arrived, accompanied by two muscular, soldier-like men in full black suits and glasses, each wearing an earpiece in their left ear.
The old man was the young master’s butler. He was called Butler Lee.
"Young Master, you cannot simply leave campus while classes are in session. Furthermore, it is dangerous to wander around without myself and your two bodyguards," Butler Lee spoke softly.
However, his eyes were fixed firmly on Donape, signaling him to leave immediately.
Donape certainly noticed the expression and swallowed hard. He knew better than to mess with someone from such a wealthy background.
But what could he do?
Failure would be disastrous for him.
He would rather have problems with these people before him than with the tyrannical System.
He lowered his head and rubbed his palms together, flashing the most sincere smile he could muster.
"Gentlemen, I am not a con artist, nor am I a scammer. This establishment is fully credible, even though I have not registered my business license just yet."
Butler Lee, of course, did not believe a word. He raised his chin, signaling the two bodyguards to step forward and block Donape from Young Master Baek’s sight.
But before the guards could move, Young Master Baek held up his hand to halt them.
"Enough. No need to make a fuss. This mofo has plenty of money. Giving a little charity over something to a bum like him won’t hurt," Young Master Baek said dismissively.
He had already taken an interest in the shop due to its exquisite nameplate, so even the prospect of being ripped off wouldn’t deter him.
"Let’s go. I want to see what you have to offer," he said as he strutted toward the entrance of Origins VR Cafe, motioning for Donape to open the door.
Donape didn’t know whether to cry or rejoice at being labeled a bum and treated like a servant, but he was thrilled to have his first potential customer to satisfy the System’s request.
Butler Lee and the two guards had no choice but to follow their master inside.
All three shared the exact same impression of the shop’s dilapidated exterior—it looked untidy, messy, weathered, and definitely foul-smelling.
But the moment the door swung open and they stepped inside, everyone—including Young Master Baek—was utterly stunned.
The sheer beauty and pristine cleanliness of the luxury interior left them completely speechless.
Young Master Baek was the first to break the stunned silence.
"Wow! Amazing! This is completely beyond my expectations!" he exclaimed.
He stomped his foot heavily to test the floor, then ran his hands over the walls and the sleek counter, quickly conducting his own assessment.
"Superb! Even my grandfather’s private estate isn’t built with materials this sturdy and beautiful. Hahaha! My instincts were right the moment I saw that nameplate outside. This place is interesting."
Donape tilted his head slightly. He was surprised by their reactions because he didn’t find the decor that mind-blowing.
On the other hand, he actually found it a little cringe-worthy watching Butler Lee and the two bodyguards standing there with their mouths open, blinking in sheer disbelief.
But Butler Lee’s shock came from a much deeper place.
He had been deeply involved in the Baek family’s corporate management, spending his early days overseeing their luxury hospitality division—managing five-star mega-resorts, sourcing rare materials for elite VIP lounges, and inspecting architectural masterpieces worldwide.
Because of this, he possessed a terrifyingly sharp eye for premium quality.
Yet, as he stared at the flawless finish of this tiny shop, a cold sweat began to form on his neck.
’Seamless construction...’ Butler Lee thought, his heart hammering against his ribs.
’There are no joints, no seams, and no structural flaws. The flooring isn’t standard marble or premium hardwood—it’s a high-density, sound-dampening composite that doesn’t emit a single echo. And the texture of these walls... it completely absorbs light without a single blemish.’
Even the two bodyguards possessed the expertise to judge the space, despite having fewer years of service with the Baek family than Butler Lee.
They knew that sourcing materials of this caliber for a room this size would bankrupt a mid-sized corporation, yet they were witnessing it firsthand inside a run-down building.
It was a reality they found hard to swallow.
Meanwhile, Young Master Baek’s eyes finally drifted to the five sleek God-Tier VR capsules lined up against the wall, his brows furrowing. He looked back at Donape and pointed a finger.
"So this place of yours is a gaming cafe? But instead of PCs, you use these... capsule things?"
Donape froze. Panic flared in his chest. Despite his desperate need to lock in his first customer, he realized with a jolt that he actually knew absolutely nothing about how this place operated.
Before the awkward silence could stretch, a sharp digital chime saved him right in the nick of time.
[Initiating data sync: VR Cafe Operator Manual.]
Donape’s posture stiffened instantly. Before he could even process the floating notification, his brain violently convulsed.
His eyes rolled back and his face twisted into a bizarre, distorted grimace as a massive flood of information violently forced its way into his mind.
The sudden movement caused the two bodyguards to step forward immediately, shielding Young Master Baek.
Butler Lee’s brows furrowed as he intently watched the strange phenomenon overtaking Donape.
Fortunately, Donape recovered quickly. "My apologies for startling you all," he quipped, pinching the bridge of his nose to steady himself.
"It’s nothing. I’m just a bit exhausted from what has been a truly extraordinary day."
The information flood had been insane, instantly granting him absolute knowledge of the Origins VR Cafe without firsthand experience.
"Yes, this is also a gaming cafe. But it utilizes cutting-edge technology that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the world. The virtual reality here suffers from none of the pathetic limitations found in trashy products like Pineapple Sight Ultra, Teta Request Pro, or HPC Vivo Elite."
Donape stepped gracefully toward the back-left corner near the restroom, gesturing toward the five God-Tier VR Capsules angled neatly at 60 degrees against the wall.
He carried himself with the dignity and flair of a master con artist.
"These are state-of-the-art capsules capable of seamlessly transporting a user’s neural network into an illusory world. Every single one of your five senses will be fully engaged, creating a transcendent experience that directly stimulates your real-world body."
"Pfft! Young man, you speak smoothly, like a seasoned fraud. I’ll give you that," Butler Lee said with a mocking clap.
He turned to his master. "Young Master Baek, this is clearly a scam. We had better leave."
’Who does this idiot think he’s fooling with nonsense about ’world-first technology’?’ he thought, gesturing for the bodyguards to escort their master out.
Just as Donape braced himself for a lost sale, Young Master Baek remained steadfast.
"Don’t make a fuss over trivial matters," he scoffed. "I said before, this mofo isn’t petty just because of a few hundred dollars BC. Move aside and let that poor man do his task."
Donape’s heart soared. He didn’t mind being insulted as long as the money cleared.
All customers were equal in the eyes of cash.
"The Young Master truly possesses a magnificent vision," Donape said, guiding Young Master Baek toward VR Capsule 3.
"It’s simple to operate. Just place your palm on the glass for biometric identification. Since we’re in our grand opening phase, only one game is currently available: The Path of the Heavenly Martial Arts."
Young Master Baek stroked his chin, glancing at the sleek pod. "Sure."
He pressed his palm to the glass, selected a one-hour rental, and booted up the game.
The total came to 100 BC.
Butler Lee stepped forward, glaring coldly at Donape as he tapped the Baek family’s black card against the capsule’s scanner to pay.
"Young Master, let me test it first," Butler Lee urged.
But Young Master Baek dismissed him with a wave of his hand and climbed inside.
The capsule hissed shut.
Left with no choice, Butler Lee and the bodyguards cast deathly stares at Donape before turning to sit by the counter to wait out the hour.
But barely a minute passed before the hydraulic hiss of VR Capsule 3 suddenly echoed through the room.
The canopy slid open, revealing Young Master Baek trembling, hyperventilating—and completely soaking through his pants.
