Chapter 36- Have Fun (Part 2)
'Vivi's Beautiful Wonderland' was the biggest amusement park in the entire nation and one of the biggest in the world. It was one of the many wonders of the capital and a huge attraction for tourists coming from all over the world.
From afar, one could see the entire world that is this amusement park. The giant attractions that pierce the sky. The sound of screams and music filled the world. Countless people were walking in and out.
"Woah…" Rize exhaled in awe at the scenes before him. "This is so beautiful…"
"Hm?" Venera noticed the look of shock in his eyes. "Have you never been to an amusement park before, Rize?"
"No, not really… Never had the opportunity to." Rize replied. 'Neither in this world nor the other one… I never was able to go to an amusement park.'
Rize was too broke and antisocial to go to such a place, so he could only see people going on dates there and would feel so jealous of them and their happy lives. Yet, if someone told him that he would go to the amusement park with no other than Venera Silversoul merely a few years ago, he would've called him insane and rather ridiculous.
Yet, here he was.
"What about you, Venera?"
"I've… Well, I've been a few times before." She said. "When I was a kid."
Her voice wandered off at the end as if she felt something. He could see her eyes flash with an odd glint for a second.
'Hmm, she's having nostalgia, huh…' He thought to himself. 'If I remember correctly, Venera's childhood used to be quite nice and beautiful… Until…'
His expression darkened when he remembered what happened exactly. It explained very well why she felt that way.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go." She said as she walked ahead of him. At the gates, they waited in line for a bit as it was jam-packed with people. After getting their tickets, they headed inside and found themselves in a whole new world.
Each ride looked so amazing and almost defied logic. The rollercoaster used what seemed to be a hovering spell that made it float rather than move on a track. It flew over their heads everywhere.
The other rides were also gigantic and quite literally impossible without the supernatural abilities of this world. Essence wasn't just for fighting; it was also used in physics, industrial engineering, and even architecture and chemistry.
It was basically the energy that runs the world and makes all kinds of things possible, and that was why this world was that advanced in the first place.
'It is far more important than petrol and electricity, so no wonder it is used in everything.'
"Hey, Rize, are you ok?" Venera called for him. "Let's go; I see the rollercoaster there." She said as she pointed at the ride.
"Yeah, I'm coming…"
'Well, for now, let's relax a bit. Nothing bad should happen, but I should keep an eye on my surroundings either way.' Rize thought to himself as he walked after the princess.
***
For the next few hours, the two enjoyed their time to the full. They took all kinds of rides all over the place. Rize found himself completely engaged with it. His eyes remained on his surroundings, but seeing how much fun Venera was having, he could only smile.
"Look, Rize… Let's go there now."
"What about the haunted house?"
"Hm?"
When Rize asked that question, Venera froze for a split second. Her eyes flashed with a glint that surprised him.
"Wait… Don't tell me…" Rize's face turned smug. "Are you terrified of haunted houses, Venera?"
"What? What is that nonsense? Of course not." Venera glared at him.
"Well then, let's go?" Rize said.
"..."
"Haha, come on."
Venera could only swallow her fear as she nodded and walked after Rize. As they entered the dark, scary house, the two were instantly welcomed by a large skeleton that jumped out of nowhere.
Venera felt her entire body freeze in place as he face paled. She tried to control her reaction with every fiber of her being.
Meanwhile, Rize was secretly watching her while trying to hold his laughter. The two continued walking. With each step, something jumped at them out of nowhere to scare them, and each time, Venera felt like her soul was getting sucked out of her body. She found herself walking closer to Rize while keeping the straightest face of her life.
Then, as they took a turn around the corridor, suddenly, they saw some blood drip in front of them. Looking up, they saw a man hanging from the ceiling.
"Hiiii!"
"Huh?"
Before Rize could even react, Venera got hold of his arm as she grabbed it tightly. The boy was surprised for a second.
'Wait… Did she just screech?!' Rize thought to himself. 'So… so adorable!!'
"Umm, Venera?" Rize said with a wavering tone, trying to fight the urge to laugh. The girl was snapped out of her terrified state and realized what she had just done before she quickly released him.
"Ehem…We need to move. This is so fake. It is clearly not a dead man. The quality of this place isn't that great."
"Yeah, right…" Rize replied as he looked away. 'I didn't know that she was actually this terrified of Haunted Houses. The Princess of the nation and one of the strongest individuals in the world is actually scared of ghosts… No, this is too funny! I can't hold it for longer!'
With that, the two continued walking through the house. A few jumpscares later, they were finally able to leave it, and Venera immediately exhaled a long breath as if she had just escaped a battle.
She stopped and leaned against a wall.
"Are you ok?" Rize asked with a smile on his face.
"Yes, I'm completely fine." She replied as she cleared her throat. "A very interesting experience. But disappointing still. They should change it and make it… scarier."
"..." Rize's lips quivered. "Yeah, definitely. It didn't move you whatsoever, Venera."
"In any case, let's go. We still got a few more rides to try."
"Roger that, your highness."
With that, the two continued on their trip, trying more and more rides. The sun slowly drifted in the sky until it was already on the other side, setting on the horizon. Finally, the two stopped their fun time and headed to a nearby restaurant to have dinner. The amusement park had several restaurants within it, so it was easy to choose.
"That was really fun… Thank you for today, Venera." Rize said as he sat down and looked out of the window. "I didn't have fun like this before in my life."
"Yeah, it was good," Venera said with a relaxed look on her face. "I had fun too…"
"Though, I'm so surprised that you actually wanted to do this. You didn't strike me as someone who would go to amusement parks."
"Well… Yeah, I don't do it. The last time I went was almost 11 years ago, and well.. Ever since, I decided not to go again. But I saw how tense you are and thought, why not break the ice? It is a good way to get familiar with the city and life here."
"..."
Rize… was completely speechless.
