Chapter 520 - 510: Saving Ariel 3
The map was useless and there were no prompts, so Moira could only rely on her spiritual power to explore. She also sent out a few Red Celestial Eyes to survey the situation on Ariel Planet.
[Master, The Adventurer’s Guild has a mission concerning Ariel Planet. Would you like to accept it?]
"A mission?" Moira said in surprise. "With Ariel Planet in this state, there’s still a mission?"
[There is, and it’s specifically about Ariel Planet’s current condition. Do you want to accept it?]
"Tell me the mission details first. Then I’ll decide if I want to take it," Moira said.
[The mission objective is to take photos or videos. As long as you capture the current situation on Ariel Planet, the value of the submissions will be judged by their content. Master, you can definitely use your Heavenly Eyes to complete this task.]
Moira had initially thought she’d pass if the mission was too difficult. But after hearing Patience’s explanation, only one thought remained in her mind.
Take it! I have to take it!
Besides, as long as she stayed away from The Adventurer’s Guild headquarters, she didn’t have to worry about her adventurer rank.
Deciding the few Red Celestial Eyes she had already released weren’t enough, she immediately sent several Golden Celestial Eyes out in different directions.
Some of the Heavenly Eyes were assigned to record video, others to take pictures.
"Patience, do you think I could make more money if I set up a livestream?"
’Not only would I complete the mission, I could also earn tips. Come to think of it, do livestreams even exist in this interstellar age?’
Livestreams definitely existed, but Moira was a minor, so she couldn’t host one.
After getting this answer from Patience, Moira was indignant. ’What’s wrong with being a minor? We can’t even host a livestream? I’ll sue you all!’
After Moira had vented for a while, she suddenly seemed to sense something and looked toward a certain direction. Someone was rapidly approaching.
Seeing no place to hide nearby, Moira activated Stealth Mode, put on a red clown nose, and dove into a distant pile of trash, using it to conceal herself.
A few minutes after Moira was hidden, a cacophony drifted in from the distance, punctuated by fierce roars.
Soon, several gaudily dressed, unshaven figures appeared within Moira’s spiritual detection range.
The man in the lead was holding a leash attached to a black creature whose inner ears were red.
This creature was called a Gathor. They were brutal by nature, excelling at tracking and hunting. Gathors don’t kill their prey immediately, as they prefer to eat the freshest food possible.
Due to this brutal nature, The Federation had a strict ban on keeping Gathors. Any discovered were to be killed on sight.
However, such creatures were favorites among pirates.
Therefore, the moment she saw the Gathor, Moira deduced the identities of these men.
The men led the Gathor to the edge of the junkyard. One of them spoke, "You’re sure you saw it right? That the Flying Cabin came in this direction."
"Of course I wasn’t mistaken. That was a Flying Cabin, and when am I ever wrong about something like that?" another man said. "Let’s search carefully. It has to be around here somewhere."
"I hope this escort brought some good stuff. We’ve been eating expired veggie cans for days now. My mouth is so bland I can barely taste anything."
"You can bet on it. An escort’s job is to transport supplies. They’ll be short on anything but supplies. If we’re lucky, we might even find medical or weapon supply crates."
As they spoke, the men burst into laughter, their search quickening.
Suddenly, one of them with sharp eyes spotted a circular crater in the junkyard.
It was left behind when the Flying Cabin landed earlier.
The men gathered around the crater, walking a full circle around its edge.
"Looks like we’re late. The escort already left and even took the Flying Cabin. Looks like she has a high-level Space Button."
A high-level Space Button meant this person was definitely carrying a large amount of supplies.
With this in mind, the pirate holding the Gathor’s leash tugged on the iron chain. "Alright, little guy, find that runaway little mouse for me, and you’ll get an extra meal tonight."
AWOO!
The Gathor barked a few times, then began sniffing the air carefully with its nose.
After a few minutes, the Gathor stopped, a hint of confusion appearing in its sharp eyes for the first time.
Seeing this, one of the pirates asked, "Did it lose the trail?"
’That can’t be right.’ They were well aware of the Gathor’s keen sense of smell. The person clearly hadn’t gotten far; it should have been able to find them.
’Even if its sense of smell failed, that person is carrying so many supplies they must be giving off a significant energy signature. The Gathor should have been able to sense that.’
AWOO!
If these men understood beast-speak, they would know that the Gathor was saying it wasn’t that it couldn’t smell anything, but that the scent was coming from all directions.
Moreover, with its keen animal senses, it felt as if someone was staring at it, but it couldn’t determine where the person was. The presence seemed to be everywhere, just like the scent.
This feeling made the Gathor extremely uneasy, and he wanted to leave this place.
When the pirates saw the Gathor’s reaction, they thought he had found the person and happily ran off in the direction he was headed.
After they had completely left, Moira waited a while longer in the trash pile. Only after confirming they wouldn’t be coming back did she crawl out.
After deactivating her Invisibility, Moira looked down at her trash-covered self in disgust and took a blue bubble out of her storage space.
Cleaning Fruit: A fruit with a powerful cleansing effect. It can instantly remove all dirt and odors from the user’s body and clothes.
This was from the first batch of fruit that grew on the Loli Fruit Tree a long time ago.
After crushing the blue bubble in her hand, white bubbles instantly covered Moira from head to toe. About a dozen seconds later, the bubbles popped, taking all the trash, stains, and odors with them. She felt wonderfully clean and refreshed.
Moira glanced in the direction the pirates had gone, then headed off in a different direction.
The system had previously informed her that her clothes were her protection, so she hadn’t changed. Besides, she had already tried, and it seemed the clothes were impossible to take off until the mission was complete.
After walking for ten or so minutes, her spiritual power finally registered something: signs of life a few hundred meters away.
To avoid them being pirates, Moira sent out a Golden Celestial Eye to scout out the situation.
Upon learning they were survivors, Moira quickened her pace.
