Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging

Chapter 499 - 489: Dindalon and Cheese Grass 12

Creamy Dingdong then gave Moira Lynch two choices.

To be precise, they were two payment methods.

The first was a lump-sum payment.

They would pay with a total of one thousand bottles of Essence Water and one thousand bottles of Microelement Concentrated Essence Pills.

The second option was payment per treatment: one bottle of Essence Water and one bottle of Microelement Concentrated Essence Pills for each individual healed.

"This is what the clan leader said. Take a look and see which one you want to choose. Either option is fine."

Each option had its own merits.

With the first option, she would receive one thousand bottles of Essence Water and one thousand bottles of Microelement Concentrated Essence Pills, regardless of how many people she healed.

If there were relatively few patients, the first option was definitely the correct choice.

But if the number of patients exceeded one thousand, she would lose out by picking the first option.

Upon arriving in this Dungeon, Moira Lynch had extended her spiritual power to survey the area.

According to her current count, at least ten thousand Dindalons lived here.

Although the population was large, not all ten thousand of these Dindalons needed treatment. A great many of them were perfectly healthy and required no healing whatsoever.

’But it’s fine if they’re healthy,’ she thought. ’They might not be sick now, but there’s always preventative care. All I need to do is give them a little nudge.’

With this in mind, Moira Lynch said to Creamy Dingdong, "I’ll choose the second option."

Creamy Dingdong seemed a bit surprised by her choice but said nothing, simply taking out a Space Button that contained some Essence Water and Microelement Concentrated Essence Pills.

"This is the payment for treating the children here. We’ve also prepared a room for you. The clan leader has already sent people to spread the word; the sick will come to you on their own."

Moira Lynch nodded. "Alright. Thank you, I understand."

After taking the Space Button, Moira Lynch spent ten minutes healing all the young Dindalons there before following Creamy Dingdong to the room prepared especially for her.

When they arrived, Moira Lynch found that the place seemed to be a small clinic. It was empty and looked as though it had been abandoned for some time.

"The previous doctor used this clinic. After a new one was built, this one was left empty. But someone comes to clean it regularly, so it’s very tidy."

Moira Lynch sat down inside the clinic, and within a few minutes, a Dindalon with somewhat coarse fur arrived.

He placed the bottle of Essence Water and the bottle of Microelement Concentrated Essence Pills he had brought on the table in front of Moira Lynch.

Seeing this, Moira Lynch wasted no words. A white flame appeared in her hand.

A minute later.

The Dindalon, who had been shuffling along just a moment before, strode out of the clinic as if on air, an unprecedented look of relief on its furry face.

The other Dindalons rushing toward the clinic saw this and couldn’t help but quicken their pace.

In no time, the entrance to the small clinic was swamped, with every Dindalon eager to be treated as quickly as possible.

Just then, Creamy Dingdong rushed over with a group. They maintained order, preventing the crowd of Dindalons from truly descending into chaos.

And so, Moira Lynch’s healing sessions proceeded in an orderly fashion.

Soon, Moira Lynch realized that healing them one by one was far too slow. To increase her efficiency, she simply took out her Priest’s Staff.

The light from the Priest’s Staff had once been green, but after being enhanced by a Verasi Potion, it now shone with the same color as her flame.

Healing ten Dindalons at once wasn’t Moira Lynch’s limit, but rather the clinic’s.

Moira Lynch noticed that most of the Dindalons’ injuries were from combat, as she could clearly see the marks of claws.

Some wounds had already scarred over, while others were brand new, likely from recent injuries.

Some of the Dindalons were even missing limbs.

Considering the living conditions on Aquaria, Moira Lynch could guess where these Dindalons had gotten their injuries.

And so, Moira Lynch continued to heal the Dindalons, using a Medicine to replenish her energy whenever she felt it run low.

The line of Dindalons waiting for treatment began to shrink at a visible rate.

Every Dindalon that entered was listless and gloomy, but every one that left was full of life and vigor.

Seeing the number of sick Dindalons dwindling, Moira Lynch began to set her plan in motion.

First, she used her spiritual power to plant a suggestion in the minds of the Dindalons living throughout the Dungeon.

Having healed so many, Moira Lynch didn’t need to advertise; word of her deeds had already spread throughout the Dungeon.

All that was needed now was a small psychological nudge.

Even if these Dindalons were perfectly healthy, with no ailments at all, that wouldn’t stop them from wanting to take preventative measures.

After all, who would object to becoming even healthier?

This was especially true for the elderly, who were no longer in their prime and whose bodies more or less felt some discomfort.

Perhaps this discomfort didn’t rise to the level of an actual illness, but seeing those around them who had been sick or even crippled suddenly become lively and vigorous—could they truly remain unmoved?

Moira Lynch didn’t have to wait long. After healing and sending off the last batch of patients, she began to tally her gains.

From the beginning until now, she had healed over nine hundred Dindalons.

Her inventory space was piled high with Essence Water and Microelement Concentrated Essence Pills.

Moira Lynch sorted them into different storage compartments.

Just then, she noticed a large crowd approaching her location, and by the looks of it, their numbers were considerable.

At the sight, the corners of Moira Lynch’s lips couldn’t help but curl into a smile.

’They’re here at last.’

Looking at the crowd of Dindalons outside, which was even larger than before, Moira Lynch couldn’t contain her excitement.

With Creamy Dingdong around, she didn’t have to worry about maintaining order.

Once they were lined up, Moira Lynch immediately began a new wave of healings.

「Meanwhile, elsewhere.」

After what could be described as a "long and arduous journey," Redlight and his teammates finally arrived at the Dungeon.

On their way to turn in a quest, they noticed a long line forming up ahead and couldn’t help but take a second look.

"Excuse me, what’s going on up ahead?"

Redlight asked the Dindalon who was guiding them.

This was a Dindalon with cow-like markings, a size smaller than Creamy Dingdong.

The cow-print Dindalon explained, "They’re lining up to be healed. A very powerful Healing Mage arrived here a short while ago."

Although Redlight was curious about who this Healing Mage was, his quest was more important right now, so he reluctantly looked away.

Little did he know that this one action had caused him to miss the opportunity to discover Moira Lynch’s secret.
