Chapter 497 - 487: Dindalon and Cheese Grass 10
Aside from the Bun-shroom Moira Lynch now held, as far as the eye could see, the area was covered in these large, white mushrooms that looked just like steamed buns, a truly delightful sight.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Moira Lynch began collecting all the Bun-shrooms into her space as she walked.
’My island is surrounded by the sea. Even though it doesn’t have a swamp, it should still meet the growing conditions for these Bun-shrooms.’
’The space would also work—it is a pocket dimension, after all. And then there’s Cloudsea Planet.’
Moira Lynch could already picture the Bun-shrooms becoming a huge commercial success.
And just like that, Moira Lynch soon collected the entire patch of Bun-shrooms into her space.
Once she had finished, Moira Lynch took out a Bun-shroom.
Patience had previously said they could be eaten raw.
She took a bite and began to chew carefully.
Although the Bun-shroom felt soft to the touch, it was crisp when she bit into it. It also had a light, sweet flavor, almost like she was eating a piece of fruit.
Moira Lynch finished off the Bun-shroom in just a few bites and felt a strong sense of fullness in her stomach.
’Eaten raw, it’s like a fruit. I wonder what the texture will be like steamed. I’ll have to try it after the game is over.’
Moira Lynch continued to follow the direction of the arrow.
Soon, another large patch of Bun-shrooms appeared before her.
Unlike the white ones before, these Bun-shrooms were vibrantly colored.
It’s common knowledge that the more vibrantly colored a mushroom is, the more toxic it’s likely to be.
Therefore, upon seeing these mushrooms, Moira Lynch’s first instinct was to keep her distance.
Fortunately, Patience was quick to explain.
These were still Bun-shrooms. They had simply been cross-pollinated with other plants during spore dispersal, resulting in their current colors. They weren’t poisonous; in fact, Bun-shrooms that had picked up pollen from other plants had their own unique flavors.
Once again, Moira Lynch collected all the Bun-shrooms into her space.
She continued this way, walking and collecting, until the sky grew completely dark. Only then did Moira Lynch finally arrive at the Dindalon territory.
However, the main gate to the Dindalon territory was shut tight.
Moira Lynch looked around and finally spotted something on the gate that resembled a doorbell.
She reached out and pressed it. A "DING-DONG" echoed, sounding exceptionally sharp and clear in the quiet night.
A moment later, a faint voice suddenly spoke up. "Who are you looking for?"
Moira Lynch glanced around but couldn’t pinpoint the source of the voice. "I’m here to deliver the Cheese Grass," she said. "Can you let me in?"
As she spoke, Moira Lynch retrieved a box of packaged Cheese Grass from her space.
Since she wasn’t sure where the voice was coming from, Moira Lynch simply held up the Cheese Grass and waved it near the gate.
After Moira Lynch presented the Cheese Grass, the voice went silent for a moment before saying, "Please wait a moment."
Hearing this, Moira Lynch couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
Soon, the sound of machinery whirring to life echoed, but the gate before her showed no signs of opening.
Just as Moira Lynch was about to ask again, she suddenly sensed something was wrong. ’Is the ground beneath my feet... gone?’
Immediately after, a feeling of weightlessness overcame her, and her whole body began to plummet downward, completely out of her control.
Even in that first moment of falling, Moira Lynch remembered to store the Cheese Grass away to prevent any accidents.
After that difficult ordeal, Moira Lynch had finally made it into the Dindalon territory.
She stared at the scene before her, utterly dumbfounded.
Orderly houses, bustling streets... these Dindalons had actually built an entire city underground—a Dungeon.
Just then, a Dindalon that looked like a cream-colored hamster waddled over on its short legs.
It sniffed at Moira Lynch before speaking. "I didn’t expect you to arrive so quickly. But why are you alone? Where are the others?"
"Those Dada Ducks guard the Cheese Grass as if it were their own eyeballs, and they insist on limiting how much anyone can take."
"Anyone who wants to buy Cheese Grass from them can only get a set amount—not one bit more."
"And of all the rotten luck, Cheese Grass only grows in that one specific pond."
"The others are still on their way. I was just a bit faster, so I arrived first."
After hearing Moira Lynch’s explanation, the Dindalon nodded. "I see. In that case, follow me."
The Dindalon led Moira Lynch to a building that looked like a medical clinic.
When she stepped inside, Moira Lynch saw that the room was filled with prone Dindalons. Their eyes were closed, their faces contorted in pain.
Just then, a Dindalon wearing a white cap and a white mask came out. Upon seeing Moira Lynch, it asked impatiently, "Did you bring it?"
In response, Moira Lynch nodded and took out all the Cheese Grass.
"I’ve never seen anything like this. Is this the new product the Dada Ducks developed?" the Dindalon in the white cap and mask asked.
Moira Lynch nodded and repeated what the Dada Ducks had told her.
"This Cheese Grass has been processed to retain its original nutrients and flavor, allowing it to be stored for much longer. The only drawback is that it’s quite brittle and can be easily damaged during transportation."
The Dindalon nodded after listening, then waved its small paw. Several other Dindalons immediately appeared from behind and worked together to carry all the boxes of Cheese Grass into the building.
With her task complete, Moira Lynch prepared to leave. But before she did, she looked over at the Dindalons lying in the sickbeds.
Judging by their size, these Dindalons were only children.
"May I ask what’s wrong with these Dindalons?" Moira Lynch asked, her curiosity piqued.
"They’re sick," the Creamy Dingdong answered, making no effort to hide the truth. "These are all children born just last year. Not long ago, a strange illness broke out in our Dungeon, and all the children were infected. Through research, we discovered that Cheese Grass has a miraculous effect against this disease. But of all the rotten luck, the Dada Ducks chose that exact moment to refuse to deliver us Cheese Grass. We had no other choice but to hire you."
"If it weren’t for this, we would have canceled the order long ago."
"Although we Dindalons are very fond of Cheese Grass, and it is indeed very important to us, it’s not irreplaceable."
"We started researching long ago to overcome our dependence on Cheese Grass, and we’ve even had a major breakthrough recently."
"If this strange illness hadn’t caught us completely off guard, we would never have gone begging to the Dada Ducks."
After listening to the Creamy Dingdong, Moira Lynch thought for a moment before walking over to the nearest Dindalon.
