Marvel: Reincarnated as Superman

Chapter 141: Nadia’s Gratitude (bonus)

On the dance floor.

Daniel and Nadia were surrounded by the crowd at the center. One was the hero who had saved Yaka, and the other was the Queen of the Yaka people; everyone voluntarily cleared a spacious circle for the two of them.

Except for Quill.

This thick-skinned guy tried to squeeze his way in to join the fun, but he was promptly dragged away by two Yaka ladies, the very same two he had been comforting earlier that day.

The local music of the Yaka people drifted through the air. Thanks to the universal translator, Daniel could easily understand the lyrics. It carried a quiet happiness that settled deep within, leaving a lasting sense of warmth.

Daniel held Nadia gently, following her lead as they moved across the floor. Their bodies remained close, close enough for him to hear the quick rhythm of her heartbeat and feel the warmth of each breath against his skin.

"Don’t be nervous, it’s very simple. Just hold onto me, and I will guide you," Nadia whispered softly, sensing that Daniel was somewhat at a loss and his body was remarkably stiff.

"Oh, alright."

After a brief round of adaptation, Daniel quickly learned how to coordinate his movements with Nadia, which left her thoroughly surprised.

"You learn remarkably fast," Nadia praised.

"It’s alright," Daniel replied.

He possessed a super-brain. Although he rarely used it for deep thinking, if he actively desired to, he could master a skill within a short timeframe to a height an ordinary person couldn’t hope to achieve in an entire lifetime. Especially after his metamorphosis, he maintained absolute, flawless control over his raw power; there wasn’t the slightest chance of an accidental slip up.

Gradually, Nadia closed the distance between them until their bodies brushed with every step. Just as Daniel considered easing back, she leaned in and whispered into his ear.

"Did you know? I only ascended the throne recently," Nadia said softly. "I was crowned just a month ago."

"Really? Then I suppose congratulations are in order, even if they’re a little late," Daniel replied casually.

Even as he spoke, his attention had already wandered to the other Yaka couples on the dance floor. Their movements varied from pair to pair, and he quietly memorized each new step and flourish. He planned to surprise Susan with a proper dance once he returned.

"My mother passed away a month ago, which is why I became the new queen," Nadia said, her voice dropping to a low, somber tone.

Hearing those words, Daniel pulled his gaze back. "I’m sorry for your loss."

"It is fine. Mother went to join the Spirit of Nature, so I ought to be happy for her," Nadia said.

Daniel didn’t know what exactly the Spirit of Nature was, but he could guess it was likely some form of religious deity worshipped by the Yaka people.

Nadia continued speaking. "However, I was still terribly heartbroken. Mother’s sudden departure left me with virtually zero experience upon ascending the throne, and then Thanos arrived..." As she spoke, Nadia actually began to sniffle softly.

Unfortunately, when it came to romance, Daniel was as dense as a block of iron. Outside of Susan, his awareness of a woman’s feelings was practically nonexistent and even the most obvious hints sailed clean over his head.

"Hey... it’s okay."

Nadia’s heart skipped a beat. For an instant, she thought he was about to pull her into a comforting embrace.

"If you need a moment, we can stop dancing," Daniel offered gently. "You don’t have to force yourself."

The sincerity of his suggestion somehow made it even harder to respond. Nadia’s rhythm faltered, and she nearly stepped on his foot.

Daniel slipped aside just in time before reaching out to steady her.

"Easy," he said. "You almost tripped."

"...I’m sorry," Nadia replied quietly. Steadying her composure, she spoke up once more.

"When Thanos’s army descended upon Yaka, you can’t imagine how terrified I was. His forces didn’t hesitate for even a moment. They stormed through our cities, broke into the royal palace, and forced us all into the public square.

He stood before us and declared that he was going to ’save’ us by slaughtering half of our people. You truly cannot understand how frightening that moment was."

Nadia’s voice trembled as she recalled the memory.

Daniel stopped dancing. He looked at her quietly, his expression unusually serious.

"No," he admitted after a moment. "I don’t know what that feels like." There was no mockery in his voice, only a simple acknowledgment of the truth.

"I’ve never experienced anything like that."

Having already been caught off guard by Daniel’s earlier answer, Nadia managed to steady herself this time. She took a slow breath before continuing.

"My mind went completely blank. My entire body was trembling, and I had no idea what I was supposed to do. The only thought that remained was..." She paused, her voice growing quieter. "Am I going to die?"

Each word came out slowly, as though she were reliving that moment all over again. A faint shiver ran through her as the memory resurfaced.

"But fortunately..." Nadia looked at Daniel. "You were there."

Seeing that he remained silent, she continued, her voice filled with admiration.

"You descended from the sky, your cape billowing behind you. You saved me... you saved everyone on Yaka."

Nadia raised her head to gaze at Daniel, her face completely flushed.

"From that very exact moment onward, your heroic figure left an indelible mark deep within my heart. I prayed to the Spirit of Nature, hoping it would send a savior to rescue us, and then you arrived.

You are the savior sent by the Spirit of Nature itself; it was destined that our people would suffer this calamity, and it was equally destined that you would come."

Daniel felt that this dance could no longer continue. What on earth was Nadia playing at? He merely wanted to learn a few dance steps, so why was she spouting all this absolute nonsense? Talk about overthinking things.

"You’re overthinking things." Daniel stated directly. "We were originally on our way to Sakaar, but our spaceship executed too many consecutive jumps, and Quill’s body couldn’t handle it, so we simply stopped here to get some rest and happened to cross paths with Thanos."

"No," Nadia replied softly. "This is the guidance of the Spirit of Nature. Destiny itself decreed that you would come."

She looked at him with unwavering conviction.

"Destiny decreed that our paths would cross."

Her voice lowered into a quiet whisper as she leaned slightly closer.

"Although we Yaka people have long since moved beyond primitive methods of reproduction... if it were with you..."

She hesitated for a moment before finishing softly "...I would not object."

The moment those words left her mouth, Nadia immediately lowered her head, almost burying her face into her own chest.

"Say what?"

Daniel immediately released his hold on Nadia. As she stared at him in confusion, he glanced around before lowering his voice. "Are you saying you want to sleep with me?"

The tips of Nadia’s pointed ears turned bright red. She looked away and replied softly, "Well, it isn’t entirely out of the question..."

"No, absolutely not." Daniel raised both hands in refusal. "I just saved your life, and now you’re trying to thank me like this?"

"I merely wished to express my gratitude..."

Before she could finish, Daniel interrupted, his expression becoming increasingly suspicious.

"Wait. So, after everything that happened, you decided this was the best way to thank me? You have some strange ideas about gratitude."

Daniel felt that the Yaka women were far too terrifying, completely lacking in moral boundaries. Nadia was the Queen herself, yet she actively wanted to sleep with him; wouldn’t ordinary Yaka women want to do so even more?

"As expected, an entire planet populated solely by women is far too horrifying. Every single one of them is completely starved."

The more Daniel thought about it, the more he felt that they couldn’t afford to remain a moment longer. The surrounding Yaka women seemed to be gazing at him with exceptionally burning eyes.

Without a second thought, he lunged over and yanked Quill out from the crowd of women. "Let’s go."

Daniel grabbed Quill by the collar and flew directly back toward the spaceship.

"Ultron, get us out of here immediately."

"Understood, Mr. Danvers." Ultron replied.

"What’s going on?" Quill, already somewhat intoxicated, complained loudly. "What are you doing? I was just about to successfully hook up with two beautiful Yaka ladies."

"This place is far too dangerous." Daniel addressed Quill with absolute seriousness. "Nadia actually wanted to sleep with me. We need to leave this instant."

"Huh?" Quill could only stare at Daniel, utterly speechless.

"What do you mean, ’huh’?" Daniel replied seriously. "Ultron, get us out of here."

The spaceship immediately accelerated, shooting into the sky and leaving Planet Yaka behind.

......

"Your Majesty, they have departed," a Yaka solider reported.

Nadia remained standing where she was, her expression calm and unreadable. The shy, flustered maiden from moments ago seemed to have vanished entirely. After a brief silence, she gave a slow nod.

"Understood."

Perhaps there was a small part of Nadia that truly cared for Daniel because he had saved her life. However, most of her actions were guided by a far more practical motive.

Yaka had enjoyed peace for tens of thousands of years, never needing to worry about war or outside threats. Then Thanos arrived, and in a single day, nearly half their population was threatened with extinction.

The fear left behind by that event was impossible to ignore. Nadia had witnessed firsthand how helpless her people were against a powerful invader. They had no army, no weapons, and no means of protecting themselves from another catastrophe.

After seeing how absurdly powerful Daniel was, Nadia had hatched a plan: she wanted to harvest his seed.

If she could engage in a physical relationship with Daniel, she was entirely confident that their race’s advanced biological could successfully secure a pregnancy.

When the time came, she didn’t even expect to birth a child as monstrously powerful as Daniel; if the child possessed a mere tenth of his raw strength, Nadia would be completely satisfied.

Unfortunately, Daniel had run away.
